When I was a kid calling someone a igorot was a insult like the N word to blacks. Times have changed. Igorot in Mindanao in the 80’s were very dark like black. None of the performers here look anything like the igorot I knew

I'm Igorot.
This is not a traditional igorot dance, it's more of a contemporary one or an inspired from the actual traditional dance for Theatrical shows.
Is there a link that you can recommend On youtube where it is representing the traditional igorot dance? ... Or maybe there's a clip somewhere that you're able to upload? :) it will be nice to see and it will be greatly appreciated.

I'm half breed Igorot but I am born and raised in the cordilleras these is not how igorots perform there respected dance rituals,each and every tribe have their own dance

This was pretty cool. I'll admit. But i dont like the fact that a lot of our filipino people ignore that fact that before king phillip came the filipino people actually called themselves moros, meaning moors, as in the moors from africa who brought islam peacefully to our islands dealing trade and giving douwah (islamic knowledge).
@@unclejay9205 Get your facts straight. There were many tribes and groups of people here that did not embrace these Moors and their religion or even come into contact with them so they never called themselves Moros. Igorot tribes were not Islamized and were not conquered by the Spaniards either.

I agree...there are alot of folk dances that incorporate worship, offering and thanksgiving...u need to respect their traditions, and of the real meaning of these dances...

however if this is supposed to demonstrate traditional Igorot dance, it did not. It is more of a contemporary / modified form, an adoptation of igorot dances.

This is not a Cordillera/ Igorot dance. Even the music is not Cordilleran's. I am a native of the Cordillera, I am an Igorot. This video is deceiving those who do not know our exact traditional dance.
The beat is not Cordilleran, the dance is like a mash up of different culture mixed with non Cordilleran movement. Parang nagsuot lang sila ng attire and gumawa ng random movements. Yung music talaga yung grabe di ko alam kung saan nila kinuha.
Please change the title as Cordilleran Inspired presentation NOT as traditional dance. Because that is not a traditional dance.

Aside from using the cordilleran attires, there's no "igorotness" about it 🤣.
The sounds and dances are, nowhere to be found and seen here in the cordillera.
