A 40CU APU... My gawd. That's like having an RX 6700 for integrated graphics... The same graphics die in a PS5. Man. I don't even need wings. Cos this Strix Halo is gonna be heaven!

AMD APU will kill RTX4050 and 4060 class discrete GPU market. Not all gamer plays the latest AAA games. They plays game like CS:GO PUBG Lost Ark Minecraft, Fortnite, League of Legends GTA V Dota etc. These game can be handled easily with the new Strix Halo integrated GPU.

Not just the 50/60 class, but quite possibly the Intel i5 CPUs as well. Why pair the equivalent of a 12400 with a 3060 if you can just buy a single Ryzen APU that performs comparably? It also takes up a fraction of the desktop space, too. From a distributor standpoint, it also means much smaller shipping costs.

I have radeon pro 5500m in my 2019 MacBook pro and I can game on high 1080 / mid 1440p in GTA5 and COD MW 2019 with 30 FPS lock ( I had to Liquid Metal it and CPU + limit CPU to constant 2.3ghz (no boost)+under volt system) but I'm very pleased with how smooth it works out on this slim pc.
that video card has 22 compute units, 780m you say 12, Strix 16.... may be 1080 low is the best it will do with 30-40fps

There are official benchmarks of the 780m and it is easily playing most AAA titles on 1080p hihmgh srttings with 60fps. The RDNA 3 architecture is a big deal.

@Blue what I failed to understand originally was that 780m in discussion is new 2023 Radeon card and not old 2014 Nvidia 780m. I guess there were no more unique names to give 😂

Is it a graphics card? What’s an apu

APU is a CPU with integrated graphics processing chip.

If anything thinks this will in any way replace regular graphics cards, think again and also consider something. Lately, with the number of releases AMD has been shoving out they seem to be suffering from the AMD syndrome and seem to be desperate for market share. Also, we have to reaslise several things. The figuires quoted for gpu comparison are from the mobilw version of the 4060, and we also have to remember that the new 5000 series cards are due out soon. And one final thing to consider. Is this really a good thing for our beloved pc. Yes some people will always say "this is progress" and "change is good" etc. But the pc won the format wars largely because it is a non proprietry format. Meaning that no one individual manufaacturer controls it and every part of the architecture is modular and so the consumer has almost unlimited choice regaarding what components they use with what and how. Who remembers the examples back in the day of motherboards which were sold with on board graphics (mostly ATI funnily enough), and a few people chose that when they needed a system to do very minor tasks, but other than that, people used aa seperate gpu. Granted a lot of these articles are largely clickbait but assimilating compenents like this might not be the healthiest for our platform.

Actually, the Radeon 6000 series currently beat Nvidia 30 series. It didn't happen right at launch because AMD drivers take time to be optimised.
And Nvidia will always give less performance per dollar and half the VRAM per dollar. It's fact.

@@juanandreas97 Because most people who don't look into details and benchmarks and only care about who has the best GPU (currently RTX 4090) even if they don't buy the best GPU. They see DLSS 3 bringing a huge framerate, but they don't check for the latency it adds (which is simply a no in shooter games).
Basically, the skeptical uninformed user is guaranteed buy Nvidia and there are a lot of uninformed users.
Think about it like this. An uninformed user would buy a 3060 12GB over a 6700XT (yes, this actually happened) despite them being priced the same and the 6700XT giving better performance overall and having the same amout of of VRAM. As for ray tracing, the only argument of Nvidia from before the 40 series, is not for that tier.

@@juanandreas97except ur forgetting that AMD has a massive share of the CPU marketplace and console market. Nvidia has no cpu and if leaks are correct Nvidia is going to focus less and less on gamers discrete GPUs as AI is making them 20 times the money so they will have no incentive
