I saw a video here on YT with Hamish & Robbie backing up Paul McCartney in an old MTV unplugged gig from the early 90's. These 2 fellas really know how to lay it down together!
Right! Same name, two talented musicians to play with Hamish. This Robbie is quite the guitarist (Pretenders, McCartney, Daltrey, etc.)! Robbie of AWB was a funky drummer and son of American actor Bonar Colleano, who died at 36 in 1958 (car crash). Robbie died at 24 in 1974. Both gone too soon. RIP.
I saw them in 93 and I think they were cool, but the "new" band is on a completely different level. They've been together for 15 years now and they still keep getting better every year. I love Robbie as a player but band-wise - not a chance.
I agree, 100%. I've just discovered their names, and am so happy. Harnish: Saw him first playing with Paul "I lost my little girl." Now, I've got catching up to do.
Ianto is a monstrer drummer but Steve Ferrone has a way of owning a groove - like Gadd, Porcaro and JR Robinson. Ferrone has a deep pocket of his own. Mind you, this is still great. The world needs more music like this
That was a different Robbie McIntosh that was in The Average White Band. He died. This is Robbie the guitar player from Pretenders and Paul McCartney band
@@roygreene406 Robbie aka- 'get round robbie'- was AWB's original drummer. He died of a heroine overdose only a year or so after they formed AWB. He was replaced by drummer, Steve Ferrone.
@@roygreene406 That is correct. It's definitely NOT Robbie McIntire! It IS a "different" Robbie McIntosh. Same name as their original drummer who died in September of 1974.
I get SO confused between the names Onnie McIntyre and Robbie McIntosh I forgot WHICH ONE was IN AWB. LMAO 🤣 But make no mistake... This HERE is FANTASTIC 👍
Helen Forrest-Lloyd He was with them for a stint but he has played with other artists as well !!! Check him out on Rick James “The Glow” Album 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 !!!
What a great group of musicians they sound amazing
This song is almost 50 years old and it still sounds fresh! Timelessly cool! Love the song and these guys,

Imagine you stroll into your local and find Robbie McIntosh and Ian Thomas playing like this.
I've said this before, Hamish and Robbie were part of the most solid band Macca ever had in his solo years. I still listen to those records.
Absolutely absolutely right the band that he has now it's garbage compared to this guy's
I saw that brilliant band with Paul McCartney. Hamish, Robbie, Wix on keys-then and to this day-and Chris Whitten on drums.
@@cavallogianni thats a little harsh dont you think?
That’s the best guitar solo I’ve listened to this week. And I listen a lot.
Stuart and McIntosh, two heros......
One of my fav guitarists robbie mcintosh such a classy guitarist
Hamish Stuart has now played with two Robbie MacInosh's , the first , the original drummer of AWB, ...RIP in the 70's I believe

Robbie McIntosh 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Some talent in that room. I've met Robbie a couple of times. Lovely guy.
Hamish and Robbie were in the best maccas supporting band ever. Fabolous players.
fastrelief your so right don't like his current band Robbies better than rusty

fastrelief I agree totally.

Yeah, Roger wrote and produced the song.
Astounding Robbie!
Love the snare sound..........that great funky 'bark'. Ian sure knows how to get a snare to talk!
True that
He ripped it up on that solo! Great.
How cool is this😊❤
Robbie McIntosh the drummer was mad funky. Check out his intro. and work on "Got The Love." Died age 24 of a heroin overdose. A terrible, tragic loss.
Robbie was told it was cocaine.
Awesome to see Robbie is still using his Jackson Ampworks. I guess he really does like it. 😀
Ianto is a monstrer drummer but Steve Ferrone has a way of owning a groove - like Gadd, Porcaro and JR Robinson. Ferrone has a deep pocket of his own.

Pickup the pieces!!😊😊
COOL!!!

When Robbie lets rip....wow!
the bass player looks like bob dylan in a good mood

AWB WHEN AT THERE HAY DAY WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD.....
Me encanta como suena la guitarra de Hamish en el minuto 6:11 😌
Great jam!
Fantastic! Love me some Hamish Stuart and Robbie McIntosh looks like Steve Pearce is admiringly impressed with Robbie's skills.
Ian Thomas is a monster on drums!! Nice bloke as well!!
Great 🏴👍🙏

It's like Laurence juber another and amazing and Great guitarrist for Paul McCartney music
Ianto!!

Yes the Groove .. spot on this!
Steve Pearce looks a lot like Boz Scaggs.
Ha!! Yes!! 😜
Wow, that's some rare footage... never seen Bob Dylan on bass before.
Wonderful stuff.....
Fortissimi un groove da paura
Great band!
Наконец то в Европе фанк появился💯👍🔥 James-у Brown-у бы понравилось👍💥
Disturbing when people talk when a band plays
Awesome!!!
Tim Allen lookalike on the bass!
Thank you because I knew this guy looked familiar but I couldn't figure out who he looked like to me. Yes, you called it right!
I'll tell you what, that certainly isn't Robbie McIntosh on drums!
That's right. Robbie the original drummer is long since dead.
Robbie macintosh was the drummer
WRONG. IT'S IAN THOMAS
That was a different Robbie McIntosh that was in The Average White Band. He died. This is Robbie the guitar player from Pretenders and Paul McCartney band
Not Robbie, He's name Onnie McIntyre!!
That's NOT Onnie McIntyre!!!! This Robbie McIntosh. Onnie still plays with AWB.

Robbie McIntosh was the original drummer that played on this record in 1973. Absolute killer funky drummer. He died way too young.
@@eddy71454
This is Onnie McIntyre

What happened to the Drummer Steve Perone he was in the Average White Band I think he went and joined Duran Duran?
duran duran??? tom petty silly
Helen Forrest-Lloyd He was with them for a stint but he has played with other artists as well !!! Check him out on Rick James “The Glow” Album 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 !!!
John P Duran too!
Steve Ferrone lives in Los Angeles and was touring with Tom Petty up until Tom's untimely passing. He also played with Duran Duran.
It’s Ferrone not Perone.
I wonder why they left McCartney... (or maybe McCartney fired 'em??)
I almost didn't recognise RM..
wheres Paul McCartney when you need him?
I didn’t know Alan Rickman played bass…
Bobble
Hope ur paying all the royalties to Roger.
He was the genius behind AWB!
The miracle!
Then you suck up and earn.
Pay up!
It looks like they're playing in an apartment I wonder how much these people pay
Bob Dylan ! A bit exagerate isnt'it ?
Is Hamish out of tune?
McIntosh and Stuart so much better musicians especially for Paul McCartney's music he's new band it's terrible compared to this guy's
Above-Average White Band :D
