My twins love Echidnas - I’m curious, are they easily startled by humans? Or do they just go about their business hoovering up termites?

@scottmulholland1329 Hi Scott, they are easily startled and generally curl up until they sense danger has passed. I managed to capture these shots by keeping very still and being patient. Hope this helps. Cheers Phil

I’ve been living and travelling solo around Australia every day for the last 6 years. After travelling many many thousands of kms I can honestly say I’ve only seen a small part of this wide open land compared to what’s out there. It’s the rugged remote areas that excite me most. I prefer to go out into the Kimberley and Pilbara regions of Western Australia where I’m from. Everywhere you turn it’s colour and awesomeness is abundant. I will travel this land to my last breath. I’m very fortunate

My grandmother liked your documentaries, I'd been taking care of her for quite some years now in her twilight years while she was stuck bedridden. Her mind was still sharp right up the end but her body just completely went down hill on her. It's been a few weeks now since she passed. It was tough to find something she would enjoy watching that wouldn't slowly drive me nuts lol Thank you for such high quality documentaries free of charge. Taking care of her turned into a full time job in the last year so I couldn't leave her side at all, night or day. That said, I couldn't work and funds got really tight there in the end. Everything was so expensive to keep up with, I could barely afford my phone and internet but I had to for the doctor's appointments etc. A very long story short, I just wanted to really thank you for making content like this accessible for me in that desperate situation I found myself in. And for providing something my grandmother actually could enjoy, there weren't a lot of things she liked to watch and I spent a lot of time searching for video for her. I'm getting myself back on track now that my role as grandson is fulfilled, but it'll be awhile before I can afford any luxuries still. Thanks for content like this that lets me relax and explore the world while I get my life back together.

Thanks for sharing this touching story with me. It really means a lot to know that my work was enjoyed by your grandmother. I'm really sorry to hear that she has now passed. My in-laws, both elderly, used to enjoy watching my films too. They both passed in the last few months too. Your story reminded me of them. It sounds like you sacrificed a lot to ensure your grandmother was adequately cared for at the end of her life. What a wonderful person you are, and I'm sure your grandmother was grateful for the care she received. I'm a big believer that the 'universe' will return this kindness to you. Thank you for watching and supporting my channel. Stay safe, cheers Phil

@@IntotheWildFilms I teared up reading that, thank you for those kind words Phil. I bet they were quite proud of you and how excellent your films are. Here's to hoping they're all smiling and sharing how proud of us they are together. I put everything in my life down for Gram, she was like a parent to me. She only asked me to never do one thing in life, and that was to put her in a nursing home because she worked in one for 25 years. Was a deep fear of her's. Was a tall order, but I'm gonna have the rest of my life now to know I did right by my most beloved family member I had, like she did by me. Still chokes me up, but It's good to know she's not stuck in bed anymore, despite how sad it makes me. Her hearing was getting so bad at the end, I was so happy to find your work, and with working subtitles no less! She was bored stuck in bed unable to even sit up. I know for an absolute fact your films helped bring her peace In those brutal days. Especially the Daintree and Tasmanian long format ones, multiple rewatches on those. Heck, I managed to get her into watching Survivorman instead of Annie and Forrest Gump over and over again because of your films too! You have no idea how crucial that was to my sanity my dear friend, truly huge help. Sometimes it's just those little things in life that make all the difference, and I'm really happy I got to share that with you.
I held her hand right through the very end. It's very strange going from not being able to sleep because someone needs you constantly, to being completely alone. Very glad I have my kitties for that! I miss her. I know she would've loved this film too. You'll get a few rewatches out of me for that alone hah. Much love! -Tory

Travelling through the outback is an experience like no other, even for many Australians. My trips there will always be etched in my memory, yet I'm an Aussie who lives in our island state of Tasmania and the outback is almost as alien to me as it is to Europeans. Then again, our Tasmanian west coast wilderness is also an experience like no other. Australia really is a vast and wonderful place. 🙂

Jean Caust an Australian. A very good documentary. I have been into the red center saw much wild life, visited the rock and Kings canyon loved it so much. It's all Gods wonderful creation and that is why people are in such awe of it. The time we were there the Sturt peas were out,and even growing on the edge of the road. In years where there is good rain the wild flowers are out and you see them out from Alice Spings right down to this side of Cober Pedy, I almost wore out my camera that trip, will never forget it. Any one who wants a great experience go and see it

I am currently living in Japan and it is beautiful here too but man Australia is different specially the Outbacks and National Parks like Carnarvon Gorge, Kimberleys, Kakadu, Uluru, Great Sandy and etc. Tourist areas like Noosa Heads, Caloundra, Maroochydore and Gold Coast are amazing aswell. Australia is amazing.

Fact. Been to most of the places you mentioned. Loved Australia. (been twice). First time for 1 yr. Climbed Ayers Rock, walked around. (Sadly climbing has been banned, guess just to much wear & tear on the rock). Outback is truly a special place. With all there is to see including the Road Trains. FYI, never park or camp under a bridge (dry & shady). Flash floods happen in the Outback. Enjoy!
Nullabar, we followed a storm going across (was a drought of 4+ yrs at that time). Morning came and it had started to become green. Went around Australia & down the middle. Fav places, then we're Broome, Great Barrier Reef. (which man is destroying). Beautiful country to say the least. Blessings 🙏 from Vancouver Island BC Canada.

What a show. Having ridden my push bike alone from Sydney to Perth. Across the Hay Plains & Nullarbour. Second trip was from Darwin to the Alice, Adelaide, great ocean road and up the south coast to SYD. I saw all these animals and more. It's beyond belief being in the bush. The further out into the back of beyond the happier you become. You really can sneak up on wildlife, because the animals a lot of times can't see you or hear you coming.
Watching wedge tailed eagles eating road kill. When these eagle's take off. They don't take off 90 degrees to the highway. They're so big the bird flies down the highway in order to get lift from the heat coming off the road. I look at my push bike in my living room today and get tears in my eyes thinking where that bike took me in the most magical place on earth.

I am also aware of the isolation of the outback. Some of the close ups are terrific. As for the Aerials, Great. what did we do before drones. Thanks to all of the image collectors for their patience and time.

A mistake made in the first damn minute... Yes, we call bush/forests etc the outback, but the giant desert in the middle is called "The Red Centre" due to the high iron content making the sand/soil red. When there's dust storms up there we get blood moons. I am from Victoria, one of the most densely populated areas of the country, down on the southern part of the east coast.
Aside from that, brilliant doco! Amazing cinematography, capturing the wild variety of landscapes of this amazing continent and country!!!!

I subbed to your channel, some really nice footage of birds, some I have never spotted in the wild. Best of luck with your film making journey. Stay safe, cheers Phil

@@IntotheWildFilms Great to hear of your experiences stepping it up to include narration as part of your documentaries Phil and the broader audience you've reached. The films you've produced with narration (and without) have such great production value. Film making has also been an interest of mine for many years too. We're very fortunate here in Australia with approx 830 birds, I wonder how many are well documented. Thanks for subbing Phil and the kind words, take care also and will see you around in future!
