Perhaps that was the point?! LOL. It really made the malaysian satay stand out as the best, when we got some of that delicious malaysian satay a few stops later!!!
We experienced some of that near the end of our stay - wow! The food stalls set up! we didn't even know where to begin! Just stood in a long line because we figured it must be good! So many amazing smells!! LOL
Please differenciate between Malay and indonesian cuisine. MALAY is the major ethnic and national language of Malaysia INDONESIAN culinary has little variety and either bland or steaming spicy ( although uses only chilly)😊😊

Most indonesian food are variant of Chinese food. Example bakso, nasi goreng, martabak manis (apam balik), lumpiah (popiah). However they claimed it is their heritage food. You can see why we never claim such thing here. Because malays know it is a chinese food from china.
@@penukulbesi4006 and the guide did not even go to madras Lane chinatown to eat the best curry laksa there! I might as well become the food guide and replace her.
There's no such thing as best Ramly burger. Each stall has got their own style of making it. Depends on ones taste bud. You can never go wrong with any..just if you really wanna compare then you'll need to hunt each and every stalls. Haha
Maybe our online research is incorrect. Google has ben known to be wrong. We don't mean to give misleading information. We understood it was the largest "wet" market in KL. 🙂
lol!! Agreed! Apparently the durian here is much milder than other places, but we would not go out and buy it. Fun to taste it though. Mangosteen is gold! So good!!!
Most durians sold in the west were from Thailand. They're plucked while they're still unriped, then frozen for transport and left to "rot" for weeks. Doesn't do justice to the actual durian taste which gives it the bad reputation. Malaysian durians are freshly picked once they're ripe enough and fell to the ground, picked and sold the next day to ensure its natural taste. Even the ones exported to China were airflown the earliest possible. We have many varieties of durians such as D24 to the more flavourful Musang King. For first timers, it's advised to try the milder variety first. But yes. It's a acquired taste - either you'll like it or you'll hate it.
We actually did eat it on its own. he had put the durian in a separate bowl - confusing because of all of the little red bowls. We did have the cendol on its own and it was sooooo good!
Why did the tour guide introduced indonesian satay? They cannot even beat malaysian satay.
Perhaps that was the point?! LOL. It really made the malaysian satay stand out as the best, when we got some of that delicious malaysian satay a few stops later!!!

Yes, exactly, it was a different taste and not a peanut sauce. The chicken was quite good!!

Our mistake if this is not correct! We understood (from Mr. Google) that it was the largest "wet" market in KL.

Try to find a Sarawak (region) laksa. They are the best.
Ok, we will have to hunt that down. We had so many people tell us to try it because it’s one of their favourites. It was just ok.
@mitchandjan there are many many laksa in malaysia. Sarawak laksa and penang laksa are world famous. You ate curry laksa which is another laksa.
We have had some great laksa!! I am sure it is all individual taste for what each person likes best!

The food tour guide shld never ever put durian in cendol. Separate it as not all like durian. Cendol must be eaten by itself (authentic)
