In 2015, Koenigsegg brought their then-fastest car, the One:1, to Belgium.The car's name indicates its power:weight ratio of 1kg:1HP. This ratio is extremely rare in the world of cars. For example, the blisteringly-fast 2019 Porsche GT2 RS makes 691HP and weighs 1,483kg, so it has a power to weight ratio of 2.14kg/HP.
The Koenigsegg weighs 1,360kg. It makes 1,341HP. Close enough. Koenigsegg's 28 year-old test driver (and drivetrain technician) driver Robert Serwanski climbed in and set out for glory. This is what happened.

So it's okay to have 20 Formula 1 cars driving around the circuit each emitting 134dB's (down from 145dB) but not a single Koenigsegg One emitting 105dB (Day 1 practice noise limit 110dB & then Day 2 restriction down to 103dB). It doesn't take a "rocket scientist" to work out that the Circuit Officials measured the Koenigsegg dB level on Day 1 in order to impose the draconian lower level on Day 2. If everyone boycotted their circuit, what's the betting the allowed dB level would "magically" go right back up.
They are marketing holy Trinity everywhere.. These three Cars are marketed so cleverly so that no one can decide which car is the fastest.. Also they are suppressing other small manufacturers who made cars as capable or more capable.. That's the world we are living in..

Very common thing. Most tracks haveb them in effect unless there's an event bringing enough economic benefit to outweigh the annoyance.

Track noise limits. As every track struggles with them as they want to keep their license to operate. Track has only couple of days per year that they can go over the noise restrictions (eg. the F1 race in Francorchamps. They are known and communicated well upfront. Still a shame that they could not try to make an attempt.
It's all about politics..
Since 1995, most of the world's official tracks (cars & bikes) should comply with the noise regulations.
I Have raced on Brands Hatch before, they have houses less than 100 yards away from the track.
The One:1 is so noisy it banned from Spa, if this also happen to the Jesko, middle finger to the officials.

Bugatti might not hold the record at Spa, but Porsche does through their hybrid which holds the record at nearly every track, and through the Volkswagen group which holds all the other records with their all electric. Porsche doesn’t need to get a big head, they own all the track records because they own Bugatti, they own Volkswagen, maybe you should do some research.

Screw them! It's unfair. But when life goes unfair, real man fists became stronger. Koenigsegg will never give up. They will put a few "highly engineered technological" SOCKS into exhaust pipe, come back, and bit the record.

Laguna Seca also has noise restrictions.
Every racetrack I've raced at has noise restrictions. The strange part is that Spa officials increased those restrictions on the same day the Koenigsegg was there.
Spa Francorchamps has had noise restrictions since before Koenigsegg even existed. Just like every racetrack. That has NOTHING at all to do with Koenigsegg nor Bugatti, only with people LIVING near the rack wanting some peace and quiet.

Yes, and the P1 was peddled by a professional driver (anyone claiming otherwise hasn't bother to check).
@bron lebron Well, as you could see, the first "official" all out attempt of the One:1 was already about a second faster through sector 1 and that was what, the fourth or fifth lap at pace? McLaren have camped out at Spa for weeks at a time since then. Imagine if Koenigsegg were given that level of Royal treatment...
But most importantly, the Senna's tyres are by far the star of the show. They are as close to an all-out race tyre for the road as is currently allowed, which is, of course, by design.
The P1 and the One:1 were both on very similar tyres in terms of their (well established) all round performance. That is why their times can be legitimately compared.
In reality, all three cars would likely be closer than you think if given the same tyres, the same expert driver and an extended period of time to fully optimise a single lap. The P1 has the toughest uphill battle, so it's likely still the obvious candidate for the wooden spoon, but the other two would be very, very close.
@@Lawsy2 The P1 also can run on trofeo tires. and honestly a car of that calibre and power, should run on tires no less than those. The Senna's advantage over the P1 hugely is weight and downforce. 200kg lighter, and claiming 200kg more downforce. Another problem about the P1 is, the chassis isn't that good. The 720s on some occasions has beaten the P1, like at Laguna Seca, while only using the P zero Corsa tires, while the P1 was on Trofeos. The 720s doesn't even have an aero wing or deep front splitters. So once they added that downforce to make the Senna, you know it was going to be fast.
@@Lawsy2 what does that have to do with anything? First of all, the difference was 6s. It was a casual drive with a passenger on board. Did he have fresh tires? Did he have low fuel? Did he have a team to check his telemetry and to set up his suspension? factory lap record attempts vs taking your car from home to drive on the track is a HUGE difference no matter who the driver is. The 2:24 by the Senna was on equal footing compared to the one:1 and it went 14s faster than the P1... There's no way that the P1 is 14s slower... 6-8s? maybe.
@@DonLee1980 This was the typical retort at the time, but those present on the day reported the driver stating that he was at his limit for several laps, one of which there is a video of somewhere.
From memory, the tyres were as good as new, a handful of heat cycles at most.
But then, what does that matter? The One:1 set the record time, during practice, in traffic and on well used tyres.
In fact, those exact tyres were used for the 0-400-0 runs, a track day at Suzuka and some customer demonstrations/shenanigans.
This is why both laps are, by just about everyone who has all of the information available, considered to be very comparable...

@@Biconnecc Formula 1 races, and all big races have to get license, and they have to pay the city with it, and get approval from the city. It's the same with most tracks. Before accusing a track for "corruption" perhaps you should at least do some research before commenting.

Koenigsegg why don't you just build your own track? Or your own strip so you can test your cars there and break records. I know it may not be as easy as I said, but I would do that honestly.
The Senna is eight seconds quicker on Spa than the One:1, and it didn't break any noise limit rules. That's British engineering for you.

I had Spa as my favorite track and one day I liked to run there, but after that, I am will not even if they offer me the track!

Yea - that noise limits are now everywhere on the big tracks. Sometimes you can`t even drive a stock GT3 RS on track when the exhaust is on Sport. Corvette was getting creative on the Nürburgring. They put some 90-degree pipes on the exhaust to let the sound out to the inside of the track, as most measuring devices are mounted on the outside of the track. - Anyway, nice try. After being spoiled with the little 2.0l V4 going a 1:41 in SPA the cornering speed and acceleration are looking a bit "muted" in this video here. Still cool so!
I'm curious to see what excuses they will use to disqualify the Gemera when it destroys everything 😉

tbh the gemera is a family supercar, sure it can be hella fast, but it's not it's main focus, think of it as similar to the McLaren GT..... but yeah im totally rooting for the jesko to make big waves out there
