Im 57 and I have been using the Jones Road collection for the past year. I love it. I had to figure out how to use it. I came from the thought that I needed a full base of makeup then add all the color, contour, etc.. What I found is I dont. I use very little WTF just where i need to even out (its way less than I ever used with any other makeup), then use the concealer sticks for spots of coverage. I use the miracle balm just minimally for color, never on my entire face. The rest of the line is pretty much the same as I used to have powder or cream blush, eyeliner, mascara etc. What I had to get used to was not having a full base of makeup. What I love is how my skin feels hydrated all day and at night it doesnt feel like Ive got this mask on that I need to wash off. My skin has never looked better and I use a whole lot less makeup.

My personal review of your video is that you are accustom in using to much product. Less is more in this incident. When you applied "the blush", why so much?, why are you going that high? It wasn't blended at all. Looked clowness. I have 1 color balm as a try. Not to keen on the smell, but that's me.

I purchased WTF, face pencil, lip and cheek stick, bronzing powder, and translucent powder. I watched videos of Bobbi applying these products on others. For WTF she used it sparingly where needed and used her fingers to spread the foundation over the skin. She used generous amounts of face pencil where needed and tapped it in with her fingers. I started with moisturized and sunscreend skin. I applied WTF sparingly, and face pencil generously where needed. I put the lip and cheek stick on by swiping it on my cheeks and tapping it in with my fingers. The only thing I used a brush for was the bronzing powder. I did not notice any stickiness or tackiness at all, so I didn't even use the translucent powder. My makeup was beautiful, and it lasted all day. For reference I'm 43, have combination skin, and the skin around my eyes is very sensitive. My skin felt amazing with this makeup. I'm totally sold. I'm going to order the miracle balm next and try it out.

I’m 67 with dry skin. This is the makeup line I’ve been waiting for all my life! Love love love it. It’s not your old goopy make up of yesterday. It’s natural and glowing. You do have to know how to use it. Do your research with the line. It’s not for full coverage. It’s not if you like the mat look. It’s not for the mask look.

It doesn’t stay sticky for me and it makes my skin feel great! My skin is normal. Maybe it makes a difference? I am 53.

Jones Road is so different than regular makeup. I personally feel odd in a regular foundation. I am generally a no-makeup girl so Jones Road works for me. I am almost 60 and I add balm on top of the WTF foundation. My personal fav is the Bronze balm. I do believe it is an adjustment with the feel of it and may take time to adjust from just about anything you use. I started with a few items and will look forward to adding more makeup items. There is a powder but I add it only sometimes. Personally, I think Kimberly looks very "Pretty" in the makeup!! I honor all your opinions, especially Kimberly's opinion! Wish everyone the best no matter which makeup!!

People forget every one's skin is different and some need more coverage than others, but personally I hate anything that feels tacky on my face, I prefer it to dry as soon as it's blended, so it doesn't sound like the product for me, but if it works for you, that's great.... I like Kimberleys opinions though, I think my skin is more like hers. 👍

  • @mrtoadslove

Like you I bought many Jones Road products. But unlike you I worked with them until I found what worked best for my type of skin which is very dry. The sticky goes away if you use less and make sure you get it into the skin and not on top of the skin. The face pencils were the worst item I purchased. The shimmer oil in the bronze is so beautiful as a base on my skin. Last but not least you can use tissue or blotting paper if it feels too sticky and that goes away and the color remains. The important thing to remember is that it’s skin care combined with light natural looking coverage. I love the products, they last forever, I look the same at the end of day except my lips need touching up.

Just watching you put on the product, I was thinking to myself, you’re using was too many products for what you’d actually need. Like, WHY put the oil on an already moisturizing product????

    • @PhoebeChloe3
      @PhoebeChloe3 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@catherinerahn4800 I thought the same thing! First, I felt the coral "blush" was too dark a color for someone with such fair, almost alabaster skin. Secondly, I felt too much of that product was applied; using a lighter hand when applying it, and using it mostly on the "apples" of the cheeks, as suggested by Jones Road, may have resulted in a far softer look.
It took me some time, as well as trial and error, to learn that a very little of each product goes a very long way. At first, both the moisturizer, that I use at bedtime, as well as the Miracle Balm and WTF seemed greasy and heavy; they sort of sat on top of my skin. I contacted Jones Road and was told to use much less of each product. Cutting the amounts I used of each by at least half has provided me with a complexion that feels comfortable - moisturized, but not oily or heavy, as well as a look that glows just a bit. I have to wonder at Jones Road's business model, because I suspect that each of the products I've bought will last a very long time, so I won't have to reorder anytime soon.
Further, the use of two pencils seemed excessive; one could certainly have provided coverage of blemishes and darkness under the eyes. Also, one of the pencils, plus two very similar shades of eye shadow on the eyes and lids, again, seemed excessive. One of the things I like best about the Jones Road products I've bought is that they're versatile. The pencil I use easily doubles as a first coat on my eyelids, as does a very, very light touch of Dusty Rose Miracle Balm. Granted, I'm nowhere near an expert in using makeup; however, with a bit of patience and coaching from people at Jones Road, I've found the level of coverage I feel looks natural and what I want with WTF foundation and color with a bit of Miracle Balm or my old standby Clinique cheek stick.
For those of you who've ordered products from Jones Road and have a first impression of WTF!!! - and I don't mean the name of the foundation - give it more than a couple of tries, and try using a lot less, and blend each product in very well! I hope you'll be as satisfied with Jones Road products as I've become. I just feel prettier when I have her WTF foundation and Miracle Balm on. I feel more confident wearing my 73-year-old face, which has had numerous sunburns and has lived in Colorado's very dry air most of my life, out into the world, or just futzing around the house, without feeling "made up."

I have to disagree with this review. I have been using Jones Road products for a year now. I am 70. This product is wonderful, from the Miracle Balm to many other, WTF foundation, I have bought two colors, face sticks, mascara, eye liner pencils, 2 colors, cheeks and lips, 2 cream eye shadows, face powders. Everyday I am using some form of combination and I love the results.
I will say the way Bobbi Brown conveys her vision for makeup, especially for well seasoned individuals like you and me, was the attraction. I wanted something that would even out my complexion and just let me look like a better version of me. I am not interested in looking all made up to do the grocery shopping. But, look better?…
This “young lady” that did this video seems to have used too much balm. I will agree that the initial feeling after applying the MB is a little tacky, but if applied right the balm does absorb and it provides that improved look while not looking like makeup has been applied.
When I apply Flushed MB to my cheeks it subdues and looks like nothing is there but look in the mirror and you will see a lovely glow… For what it’s worth, I have a long term review as a woman with no agenda except to have the best quality products on my skin while getting the results I am looking for. Do I use other brands? Of course. But, I have not been disappointed with JRB and will continue to buy their products.

I actually loved how it looked on you. It was more subtle than some of your other looks but certainly in line with the title of your channel. You look very pretty 😊 I have been using some of the products off and on for a few months. It’s taken some playing around with them, but now it’s very easy and quick. And it’s natural looking which is why I like it so much. I do use some powder, not a lot, but that helps reduce the tacky feel though my skin does feel different than with other foundation. I like the feeling though I totally get others may not. It’s also a less is more situation I think. As I played around, I realized I preferred how it looked and felt when I used less. Totally just my thoughts and experience. We are all different and what works for some doesn’t for others. Thanks for your review!

I recently bought several of the products. I don’t enjoy wearing foundation. But I actually really like wearing the WTF foundation. I have noticed I need to use very little though. It’s just enough coverage for me, and I use the sticks here and there for extra coverage. I found using the miracle balm was best used very sparingly together with the foundation, or it got too wet looking. Less is more for sure with these products. I enjoy the miracle balm on its own on days I don’t have much on. I just pat the natural one all over and add a little of the flushed balm on my cheeks and lips. It’s definitely ment to be used sparingly, unlike normal makeup. It reminds me a lot of Trinny London makeup line which I also love. I don’t feel like I wasted my money. One thing I would say is that the foundation packaging isn’t very travel friendly. It would get too messy. I still enjoyed your video and respect your opinion xx

These are products that are advertised and seem to be formulated for "mature" skin, which tends to be drier. I'm 73, live in Denver, which generally has very low humidity, so I seem to be very much a part of Jones Road's target audience. I love how I look wearing the products I use. Granted it took me a few times of applying too much Miracle Balm and/or WTF before I got it right. Now, I go out into the world, or just putter around the house looking younger, but not at all made up.

Kimberly, try powder on top & put less on of the balm or foundation. Try the bronze or use your powder bronze for more color!
In the summer, I like to use the Bronze balm all over for more color. My husband likes it!
But my skin is dryer than yours and I live in a very dry climate plus I'm older than you too.
I think all the older ladies really dig it cuz they mostly have dry skin but I have seen younger women on utube who really like the foundation which isn't as rich as the balm.

I am 65 with dry skin and I have loved the miracle balm and WTF. I use a very light application of miracle balm all over my face and find it gives my skin (which can sometimes look washed out)
a nice, subtle wash of color. I follow with the WTF in Medium, face pencils as concealer ( shade 8 and 15) then the cream blush. After using these products for several months my skin has improved in texture and appearance - much more moisturized. I find the product settles in on my skin and I don't have the tacky feel, but I can see where skin that is oilier may have an issue with this as the product is very hydrating. I also love the mascara and the Best Eyeshadows - lovely colors! Jones Road is now one of my personal go-to's. Love your channel, appreciate your honest

I like the miracle balm for no make up days. Wtf is best applied with fingers. Most people apply too much. I apply similar to Seint. Then I use the Stan’s out sponge to tap in product. Just tried the Miracle Balm as a makeup base. I put the Flushed color all over my face and then applied my Dior Forever and EL Double Wear combo over it. Holy Smokes, what a gorgeous, youthful look! I’m over 70 and hate both a shiny face and a heavy matte look, so this is the perfect combo for me. As bright as the Flushed color is, it’s perfect under neutral foundation. I received my Jones Road products 2 days ago. I am 70 years old with severely sun damaged discolored skin and a couple scars from skin cancer surgery. After watching your video I was so bummed I bought this product so I went back to Jones Road to watch how to apply WTFoundation and Miracle Balm. (I'm not trying to say you're wrong-I promise!) But I got completely different and very good result by applying a lot less foundation. I tapped it on w/a makeup brush & was surprised how well it covered! I then did my eye makeup routine followed by a light dusting of the light translucent powder after the foundation had set a few minutes. I was/am so pleased with how it looks and that I didn't waste my money after all! I'm not sure how it will work in summer months but it's fantastic now at the end of a cold day here in Oregon. Kathy Shoucair: In the future, don't landfill perfectly usable product. I would have gladly given it an appreciated home. *When Decluttering:* Please consider the following to reduce one-time use/waste: I donate new and gently used skincare and cosmetic items to a women's victim's shelter and LGBTQ organizations who are thrilled to receive such things as you are decluttering many can be sanitized. Every shelter has different policies, just call to inquire. I feel there are not enough beauty influencers passing products along to those in need or talking about this concept of helping those in your community or donating them to organizations that will. Thousands of people subscribe to Ipsy, BoxyCharm, FabFitFun and end up with unwanted/unused, swatched once products.
Organizations like *Project Beauty Share* will gladly sterilize and donate used cosmetics and skin care to women and families who need help to have been displaced, have escaped violent situations, are experiencing poverty, or other barriers in life that have a direct impact on their well-being, hope, and dignity.
Give them away to friends, family, in order to re-home them to give perfectly usable product a fighting chance before ending up in a landfill. You can give them away via Nextdoor, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Depop, Glou Beauty, OfferUp, etc, all are perfectly acceptable. People like me would happily come pick them up!
Mascara Wands: *Wands for Wildlife* is in need of used mascara wands help save wild animals. The organization collects, cleans, and distributes the wands to wildlife services in need. The wands are then used for animal care. They remove debris, bugs, and eggs from fur.
Please consider inquiring with your local women's shelters and look up the above, use your voice to spread awareness. At the very least, they can be used as pigments because that's what makeup is: for artists, kids, etc. It's a medium of color to be used, not to end up in a landfill. You could even compost it when removed from the packaging.
Example: Powdered formulas last indefinitely. So long as it doesn't smell and the product is performing, it's good to use. Those dates sometimes relate to break down but more often they relate to getting rid of perfectly usable product so you feel like you need to purchase again. It's how the industry ensures profit. It depends on the product. Use common sense.
There is also a container icon with an M and a number, which means once you open it, the guide is to use the product within for example 12M (12 months). Add a sticker to when you open it. Pencils can be sharpened to unused, clean product, etc.
Pump bottles can be re-used for other things. Stickers can be removed from glass bottles and these containers can be re-used.
If the product is new enough or untouched enough, you can even make money on selling it via Poshmark, Glambot, Ebay, Mercari, Reddit MakeupExchange, YouFromMe, etc. (Content creators are often obligated to not resell however.) Plenty of people are always looking for discontinued and current products.
Nordstrom's project "BEAUTYCYCLE" accepts the following:
HAIR CARE: Empty bottles, tubes and caps from shampoo, conditioner and styling products
SKIN CARE: Empty bottles, tubes and dispensers from cleansers, toners and moisturizers
MAKEUP: Empty tubes, tubs, pans, palettes and twist-up containers from all cosmetics
SAMPLES: Trial-size tubes and vials, excluding perfume
It would be wonderful to see a trend of every content creator each making a dedicated video and short to educate the public on these options.
Lastly there is the “Pact Collective”. Visit their website to find drop-off bin locations like *ULTA, Caliray, Saie, Westman Atelier, Fenty, rms beauty, Sephora, and so many more*. Many cosmetic companies are part of this group to help you find a collection bin to discard Pact-accepted empties. Don’t have access to a bin? Send your empties back through their mail-back program.
      Please spread the word!

I was so surprised by your opinions on it because the whole time you were applying I was thinking you looked absolutely stunning, natural, and glowing. Just beautiful! As BB says, "you, only better." The line is not meant to be full coverage. WTF is not a foundation, which is why it is called What the Foundation :) more of a tinted serum and the face pencils are used to conceal and cover. I use a setting spray after applying. I agree about the Just a Sec but LOVE the best eyeshadow.

I LOVE her line! I have super dry skin & it's the ONLY thing I've ever tried that keeps my skin very hydrated ALL DAY! I wear it over night. It soaks into my skin and hydrates. It only feels slightly sticky after application but adds color that I REALLY NEED & then soaks in & HYDRATES!
It's the best thing I ever found! The pencils are great too.
The foundation wasn't hydrating enough so the balm + pencils give a light foundation look.
Obviously for beauty over 50 doesn’t have dry skin.

Miss Kitty. I love the products. I think those who use powder, should try applying powder. I get many compliments when u wear WTF. I wear very little, and stamp in with sponge it looks great. The ingredients in the WTF are skin care products. I don’t use a lot of skincare before applying. Some days I just wear Miracle balm, instead of skincare for a natural glow look. I have long wavy hair it isn’t that sticky. I use very little. You are I are in the minority , LOL. I think Kimberly looks very pretty and I like her glow!

You CAN return everything for a refund ya know… you’re not stuck with it. And you’re using it like traditional makeup and it’s not meant to be used like that. You used way to much product. I absolutely love the balms! I use them over my skincare at night and it seals it in. I use it on my hands and it takes away all the crepe look on my hands. I don’t like a lot of makeup and putting some balm on over my sunscreen in the morning and I sweat and the balm stays put. I’ve had many compliments on my skin. I don’t use a ton of makeup everyday like you do….. sunscreen and balms and that’s my everything

Thanks for illustrating it so well, my thoughts exactly! I have so much admiration for Bobbi and thought initially it was me that’s getting it wrong. 🤔🤪 My experience with the face pencils was different, they felt uncomfortable to use and I declutterd everything I bought. I don’t understand what her intentions were with this line, of all creators, I was pretty sure Bobbi would design fabulous makeup for more mature women.

I’ve used the miracle balm alone and as a primer and bronzer with a light powder foundation. I do like the extra moisture. It is a little sticky and goes on better when patted on and not rubbed on. It is buildable. I love it with powder foundation because it keeps the powder from traveling into lines. I use it over my sunscreen, both alone and with the powder foundation. These are more suited for dry to normal skin.

I was enticed into purchasing several BB products, because of the great marketing , and I have a different opinion. I read many reviews before purchasing and I was very hesitant but, I bought the Miracle Balm in Au Naturel and Dusty Rose. I have very dry skin and these balms work great on my skin! In fact, I love them! They make my skin dewy and glowy! But, it does take some practice getting used to the application. I use them on my cheeks and lips. I also bought the Bronzer, in Dusty Rose, and it is a very pretty color and matte finish. But, you definitely can't use it over the balms. Now that I've used the balms for a few months, I can't live without them!

I'm sorry the products didn't work for you. I have tried and spent a lot of money over the years with foundations, tinted moisturizers, primers and so much more including Dior foundation. None of them work for me... I was so frustrated because I have large pores, combination and sensitive skin. The ordinary skincare products did nothing but burn my skin and break me out. I've been so frustrated trying at 45 years old to wear makeup again and find skincare products that work for me. I have to say so far I love the Jones Road miracle balm, face pencils and Wtf. I use small amounts and after completing my makeup I use the skindanavia setting spray. I am also using SkinCeuticals soothing cleanser and daily moisture. So far everything is working well. Please if you're like me where everything irritates your skin give these products a try. Also I use no brushes or sponges to apply only my fingers.

I got it to work after watching another TH-camr. First, don’t use moisturizer under the WTF foundation, only sunscreen. Use your fingers (not a brush or sponge) to apply the foundation, and apply more where needed for better coverage. Use the sticks and beauty balms next. Then powder lightly with a fine translucent powder. No stickiness. I found it looked great and diminished my lines and pours.

Thank you for the honest review. I’ve been using the Jones Road products for a few months now. I have to agree that the miracle balm did feel greasy and sticky my first few tries. As many have said, I find if I do use it or the WTF foundation I forgo my moisturizer and that helps. Also as others have said I don’t use a lot. I also pat it on with my fingertips rather than rub it in. I find if I finish with the powder, the tackiness goes away; that’s probably true no matter what powder you use but I do like her face powder. It’s very light. I use the colorless powder. I totally agree about the eye shadow and I find the mascara clumpy and very thick too. I have to use q-tips to smooth it out. Anyway I really appreciated your video and you look fabulous, dahling! 😊
