National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians Parish in Parañaque City
Every May 24th, the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of Our Lady, Help of Christians, also known as Mary, Help of Christians. The National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians Parish celebrated its annual feast by doing the Karakol, Grand Procession, and Liturgical Celebration. Despite being a “Modern Style Parish,” the tradition of this community remains.
The image of Mary Help of Christians in Parañaque City is a Canonically Crowned image of Mary here in the Philippines. It was the second Mary Help of Christians Image in the Philippines to be given the title “Pontifically Crowned” or “Coronada.” During this fiesta, the Parish reenacted the Pontifical Coronation of Mary Help of Christians of Parañaque, celebrating its first coronation anniversary.
