Norwegian Spearfishing Championship 2022

After winning the Norwegian spearfishing championship last year, I was excited to see how this year would go, with more divers, and new locations.
Seals and porpoises in the area spooked the bigger fish away, and the few that stayed were shy.
Varying visibility also played its part in making the hunting (as well as the color correction) a true challenge!

It's quite wild actually. A 15 minute car ride can give you two completely different dives. Not to mention difference between the south and north, summer and winter, or coastal vs fjords. Very exciting with all the differences though, as you always got to improve and learn:)

Mostly habit. Been having it that way since I started, and don’t feel it takes that much extra time to load. Like to be 100% confident that the line won’t be the factor stopping me from getting a fish. Still, might wanna switch somewhere down the road🤷

Very interesting and different from spearfishing in the Mediterranean, completely different terrain configuration and fish species...
I wish I could try at Scandinavian spearfishing tournament...

Yeah, it's a whole new world up here. Definetily more challenging to get something in the med, but would be a pleasant challenge for me some day:)
There's a cup just a little bit south of here called Kristiansund Cup, which is held pretty much each summer (except for Covid times). That's a fantastic international cup!

Where was this held precisely? Can a foreigner / non resident of Norway join this competition? Perhaps I will join next year, it seems fun :)

To participate in the Norwegian championship you have to have lived in the country for at least a year, but there is another cup, called Kristiansund Cup, which is international!
