I am Lenni-Lenape and Cherokee descendant-each assimilated from Grandmothers. Assimilated with Swedish-Cherokee & Delaware-Swiss, early on, then one generation (paternal) German, which are my Grandfathers. So the native lines go up thru maternal. The full-blood nations need to keep their culture identity. This is important ! Keep the original cultures, people :-) Love and peace
In 1954-'55 I had a 5th grade teacher who had boxes of Lenape artifacts. For half the time, he read to us from 'Dickon among the Indians.' (the title has changed) by M.R. Harrington. He told me of a submerged Lenape village, and burial ground., which periodically resurfaces. His name was Mr. Eckler
Thank you sister, God has been speaking truth to you! I am interested in gathering together to speak to other who have been inspired and who know this truth and who are ready to gather and speak together about the future.
I am Lenni Lenape. I am from the Lucas/Miller family! Love my people! I am from California but made my way to NY where i am now. It would be nice to meet some of my people here in NY
@williamfininen2506 My Miller cousins, who are Lenni Lenape tribal members are in Delaware (I dont meet the blood quantum,...my Dad would have). I am considered an associate member being that I can trace my ancestry through them to almost the late 1600s.
THANK YOU! I am adding a link to your consice and respectful presentation on my Native American Heritage month book club invitation on google + We are discussing the book Delaware's Forgotten Folk by Weslager: the catapult and the conflict
I am enrolled in the Stockbridge-Munsee band of Mohican Nation. Munsee is a clan of the Lenape. Ni Dushiinzii Waapan Alaangweew. (My name is Morning Star). Wiixcheew dulongoomeew (Wolf Clan) Nii ha lunaapeexkwe. (I am a Lenape woman). Nii Noonjiiyea Waukesha, WI (I am from Waukesha, WI)
Wenona Gardner hello, I am Lenape from Ontario and I have found relatives that connect me to your tribe. I go back to Captain Johnny on one line and he was Mohican married to a Munsee woman.
Mine and my father's side of my family are blood brothers with the Lenni Lenape. My grandfather completed their trials of initiation and I'm not making this up either.
My great-grandmother was full-blooded Lenape, Turtle clan. I am trying to retrace a family history that was deliberately forgotten, it's not easy. In Australia, anyone with Aboriginal blood may identify as Aboriginal. In the US, my percentage is too small, so I'm "white". I have no right to claim my matrilineal rights to the Lenape tribe.
white pale people are not indigenous to america in any way, and mongolian so called indians are not indigenous they are mixed blood, you cant be indigenous and mixed thats contradiction, most tonto looking indians came here in the 12th and 13th century with the ghengis khan invasion , there are many books on the subject

We are still in the tristate area. One tribe in Delaware and another in New Jersey. We are also in Ontario, Canada.
I am lenni lenape related to the Pierce and the Goulds
It's a double edged sword. Those of us that look too "white" get treated equally as poor by fellow natives.

William Fininen some of cousins are Lenape "Millers". If you're interested in meeting them,...let me know. You just may be a cousin to them.
This was from 9 years ago, but I'll see if you answer. I'm from the Lucas family from PA.
@@CharlieRobesorry for the very late reply. Didn't see this until now. I would definitely like to meet more of the Miller Family

The term "white" was created by the US government around 1800 for census purposes.
