Well I use extra glutinous powder, a substitute for the starch and it works
The starch isn’t technically an ingredient here,it’s just an addition help, for example if you use oil on a pan that doesn’t count as an ingredient

@@michiko_emiko3468 oh its easy to buy mochiko if you have an asian market around. Mochiko is a japanese glutinous rice for making mochi so that's why it's stretchy. You can find it in korean or japanese section ig.

@@DianaRipra same, i have never heard of ube in my country and i doubt i ever will. As for the flavor I've heard it described as a sweet and a bit nutty, it's a type of yam so it's probably similar, sadly i can't corroborate this from first hand experience :[

Ice cream mochi is probably the most popular kind of mochi in the west. You see it in a lot of japanese restaurants or japan themed events. They sell (bad) versions you can buy in any supermarket called mymochi. Honestly it's better to get fresh
They sell it here in Germany too. There are two brands. Little Moons and O-Mochi. Little Moons is 1/2 more pricy than the other one and you don't find it that often. I think only one store chain has Little Moons. I found O-Mochi in 3 store chains so far. O-mochi also tends to make random colabs with influencer for their flavors. Both of these ice creams apeared in stores like 1 or 2 years ago and I'm obsessed, but it's a bit pricy if you think that 5-7 bucks for 6 small portions would be too much.
I found some in a Japanese themed restaurant in America, and I loved it so much!! Mochi is the first thing I’ll buy if I ever go to Japan!

I'm so sorry for the late reply, I didn't get notified sooner 😭 I've tried a lot of mochi flavors, but the one I had when I commented on this was red bean paste mochi which is very popular in Japan. I have it all the time. Some people don't like the mild taste since it's not that sweet, but I like it a lot! 😄 I've tried strawberry, mango, green tea, chocolate, vanilla bean and a couple more flavors, but I always go for the red bean paste mochi. I highly recommend it! That's usually the go-to mochi here in East Asia. I have sensitive teeth, too, but this one is amazing, you should give it a try 😄💛

2-ingredients mochi 🍡 ice cream!
(makes 4 pieces)
ingredients:
1. ice cream of your choice
2. glutinous rice flour
Steps:
1. scoop out 113 gram of ice cream of your choice and then let it melt.
2. after it’s me it’s melted mix in 113 gram of glutinous rice flour.
3. ratio (1:1)
4. mix the mixture
5. wrap it with sling wrap and poke holes using fork and microwave for 45 seconds
6. take it out and knead it with lots of glutinous rice flour
7. cut it into 4 equal pieces
8. add a scoop of ice cream and wrap it very QUICKLY
9. and put it into a cup cake try with non stick cupcake paper
10. freeze for 2 hours
11. and voila enjoy

By the way, "daifuku" is one of the traditional Japanese sweets with red bean paste inside the rice cake, and "yukimi daifuku" refers to that Lotte thing with ice cream instead of red bean paste.
