    Hi, great vid! Would this location be the same for a 2000 Excursion Limited?

    Hey man, I was hoping to pick your brain on this. My ‘02 Excursion is having the same problem. I picked one of these up on eBay and took it to Ford for programming. $130 in labor later they cannot get it to work. I was hoping you’d have more info on how yours worked.

      I don't know much about the programming part. It could be that you got a defective unit or that your dealer screwed up on the programming, or maybe the unit you got can't be programmed for your truck for some reason. What's the numbers on it? And what area do you live in?

    Great vid you are the boss on close order combat. I am attempting the same fix on my 03. However I am stuck on the second (right side) 10mm nut that holds the vacuum control unit in place. I am tantalizingly close to a full view of the VSM. What tooling did you use on this nut? The first one was not easy but I was able to use a 10mm combination wrench to break it loose and finished with just me fingers.

      I don't remember. I probably would have gone for a 1/4 drive socket or ratcheting wrench, and used something else if that didn't work. I guess whatever I used made it easy enough that I didn't think to add that part to the details. I have unusual dexterity and flexibility as well as long thin hands/fingers with decent strength so many things that are easy for me are not easy for most people and I often take that for granted. From your avatar you appear to be fairly yoked, that probably makes it harder for you to get your hands contorted in there.
      Interesting that yours failed, everything I've read said that '02 was the only troublesome year. Windshield leaks are somewhat common on these and the F series so if you see any signs of water on it that was the cause.

    Hi, where did you get the information about the 2003 being plug and play? Do you have a link? Also, does the 04 work at all without programming? I want to see if the 04 fixes anything at all before going to the dealer and have it programmed just in case I am wrong although I have done tons of troubleshooting which leads me to believe it is the VSM. Thanks!

      I don't remember where I got the info about the '03 module, probably someone's YT video. When I put the '04 module in mine I think some stuff worked, but I don't remember the details; and what works might be different with different vehicle years and how they're programmed.

    I just plugged in my replacement VSM that I got off eBay and it’s doing the same thing my other one is doing (only power locks working, not power unlocks) but I have not gotten it programmed by Ford. Should I bring both VSMs in to have the eBay one reprogrammed? Or will this just waste money as it’s doing the same thing my old one is?

      If the only problem you were having was that the locks won't unlock it seems unlikely that it would be caused by the VSM. What year is your Excursion and what year is the new VSM from?

      @@DonziGT230 my main problem is that the inside power door unlocks are not working. The key fob and keypad entry both lock and unlock but are now intermittently working. My truck is a 2004 and the replacement was from an 04

      @@acenyy9651 That sounds more like a problem with the door switches or wiring. If some of the doors work while others don't, then it's the actuators in the doors. They get weak over time. They can usually be fixed if you're handy, there are write-ups and videos on it.

      @@DonziGT230 all of the doors unlock and lock with the keypad or fob, so I don’t see how it could be something with the actuators

    Can u use a 2000 module on a 2002? Without coding?

    • @DonziGT230
      @DonziGT230  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think 2002 was the first year that used a VSM. I just discovered a place that repairs your unit for $180, that's probably your best option. repairlaboratory.com/repair-service-2002-2003-2004-2005-2006-2007-03-04-05-06-07-ford-f250-f350-excursion-anti-theft-module/

    You can access it under the truck by firewall. Takes 20 min. Don't do it this way..

    • @DonziGT230
      @DonziGT230  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After you cut out the floor and/or firewall perhaps. The module is inside the cab so I don't know of any way to access it from under the truck.
