I was waiting for video like this, we the people who wear glasses are considered as "nerds", i mean i used to take that as insult in my early teens but now i think they're just calling you "smart" without actually calling you smart
A big part of why glasses are deemed unattractive is because of the stereotypes pushed in media. In almost every film, characters with glasses are labeled as ugly, geeky, awkward, and socially inept. Growing up with messages like these play a role in what we consider attractive. I used to wear glasses for most of my life and was really insecure about it. I finally got over my fear of contacts and got a prescription a few months ago. I wear them daily now. People told me I look so much better without glasses and I agree. I personally think most people can’t pull of glasses and it hides your natural features, which is why it makes people unattractive.
I somewhat disagree - most people look bad in glasses, but that’s because they don’t pay attention to details. But you definitely have to exercise good judgement and match your pair to your face shape and style. Be picky about the color of the frames, the frame shape, coloring and thickness of the rim. It also needs to compliment your fashion. A lot of college girls in my (uni wore trendy clear frame glasses with their nonchalant casual clothes, it gave that cute academic look. It also made their faces appear more symmetrical or harmonious/eye area bigger.
@@user-vw2jq3to5e I agree, finding stylish frames that compliment your face is important. But I still think that they are inherently unattractive, it’s literally metal and plastic on your face. That’s why young kids who wear glasses tend to be picked on instead of being praised and complimented. Kids are brutally honest. Also, most people who wear glasses are nearsighted, which requires a stronger prescription that makes the eyes appear smaller than they are.
@@roseadiaz I disagree. It is true that it's portrayed this way but it just depends on your drip. if you ever see a rich asian with glasses you don't think "nerd". But if you see someone who wears stereotypically "nerd" type outfits, doesn't seem to care much about appearance with glasses you think "nerd" because we're programmed too.
It has changed a lot in recent years I'd say. Fifty years ago there were few people with glasses, twenty years ago there were a lot more, nowadays it's very common. In another fifty eyesight problems will be almost one hundred percent prevalent in all western population if you consider the lifestyle that we carry on. The more common some kind of "defect" is the less unattractive it seems
Honestly I believe that ultimately the answer to this question is going to be the same answer as your hairstyle video; with beautiful people it does not matter if they wear glasses or not. Anyone who has ever been to the eye doctor knows that they always use posters of very beautiful people with great jawlines, symmetrical faces, and positive canthal tilts. For the rest of us I completely agree with everything else you said especially when you said that glasses can help hide our negative canthal tilts and give our faces the allusion of Symmetry.

Disagree. Just yesterday I chose new ones (my old glasses are ancient) because my eyesight decreased since I had my old glasses and they actually make me look more attractive since they frame my eyes. When you are attractive, you can wear glasses or not, you can look a bit younger or a bit older, but you will still be attractive. Elegance, grace and an interesting personality play a much bigger role than a tiny detail about your face.
Eyes and mouth are the first thing and the key of recognizing human face, we notice on human face ,sometimes glasses fix or hide weakness of our natural eye appearance ,thats why we wear shades and glasses most of times
One thing i wish people would consider about glasses is that the thickness of the glass can actually change how your eyes look. I had to wear glasses for more than a decade and the power was -6. My eyes would look so much smaller throwing off the balance of my facial features (they are pretty balanced). But now that i’ve got lasik and whenever try on different frames, i don’t look so unbalanced? People also find my eyes attractive, so that’s another thing. But then again glasses helped hide my dark circles and now everyone asks if i get enough sleep or not. But this was an interesting topic and a really good analysis!
I can't imagine my face in the outside world without my glasses, tbh. I tried contacts for a while, and I actually feel far more attractive in my frames. Besides, they're clearly not making me look any older, since every time I set foot on my campus for work,I'm still being mistaken for one of my undergrads 🤷🏽♂️, and people routinely think I'm at least 10 years younger than my actual age, even though I am neither a small nor short person, but I do carry some facial fat which is probably what's helping 😅
In US it is already becoming more socially acceptable. I know some ppl viewing are young, and if you wear glasses do look for a frame that is flattering for your face shape. There’s even more options than the standard black frame. I wear mine like any other accessory, and I haven’t had many social issues. Ultimately, it’s a blessing that we have these corrective devices today. I enjoy this information too but don’t use it to be mean to yourself, y’all.
For me glasses are kinda neat because I think my eyes are a bit too close together and glasses make my eyes appear smaller, which in turn makes my eyes appear wider set. Can’t stress enough how much a good frame that suits your face matters though.
I think that what really matters is how attractive you are overall, glasses can't make you a 10/10 if you are ugly but also can't make you 3/10 if you are attractive.
There was a guy in my high school calculus class that wore glasses and was Chinese-American🤓 everyone thought he must be smart. The people on either side of him failed because they copied his test answers😂They learned a lesson that day.

I agree with the first part but not the second. Just my opinion, but round glasses tend to be pretty ugly on most people(myself especially). It absolutely depends on how the glasses fit your face. I have a longer face with slightly close set eyes, and medium contrast. I have an ovalish face shape. So I wear lighter rim glasses with big soft rectangle frames that make my midface seem shorter and my eyes wider apart. Also the glasses have a slight tilt upwards, matching my uptilted eyes. Meanwhile round John Lennon glasses would look terrible on me.
Thanks for doing this video. Its true about the mental health, I had to start wearing glasses at 11yo and while I was never directly bullied for it, people started treating me differently. I was never smart before I got the glasses but when people tell you you're smart it becomes who you are. In a way its like my identity got replaced and ppl didn't see me as me anymore. Anyway this year I was thinking of changing from to a more circular frame, since it would contrast with my squarish face shape. My current frames are squarish so my face has this kinda blocky look.
Most glasses make me look worse, but the pair I own makes me look better than going without them. I specifically chose them to fill in my Long midface, visually cut from the length of my nose, balance out my strong jawline and complement my dark hair and eyebrows
I’d love for you to do a full video expounding on the matter of appearance’s affects on employment opportunities - not just glasses, even not only overall attractiveness per se, but every aspect of appearance.
When people say “I find x person with x feature to be attractive “ they’re talking about an attractive person with that trait, not average or below. Surely you aren’t simping over the discord mod with glasses
I always had people telling me I looked in my mid/late 20's when I last wore glasses at age 21, and yeah i do think the aspect of wearing glasses can make you look slightly older in most cases but the biggest detriment of wearing them is being perceived as less sexually dimorphic and overall less intimidating, unless you're really good looking. Now that I've been on both sides of the spectrum I definitely feel like there's a subtle difference. Shoutout to the bates method for improving my vision to 20/20 without any glasses and serving as a reminder people will always believe the bigotry 😆
for me, i rather wear contacts than glasses , i have some assymetry on my nose and jaw, its not that obvious but i find that glasses make the asymmetry a lot more noticeable specially on my nose, and the most atractive feature i have on my face its my eye area. when i started wearing glasses i had them for around two years but i never felt happy because even if i do my make up and style my hair, glasses take away all the effort as soon as i put them on, so i rather struggle with contacts lol
My specs help hide my asymmetrical eyes but the lenses are different strengths so the refraction distorts the sides of my face asymmetrically 🙄 Whenever I take them off to read my phone screen I get comments that I look so different 😂 I’m not sure if they mean better or worse though.
I would love to see a study that factors in lens prescription type and strength too. My near-sighted lenses make my eyes look smaller and less attractive (imo), but far-sighted lenses make people’s eyes appear larger and sometimes more attractive. I think there might be a cutoff point with these far-sighted lenses where they make you look overly bug-eyed though. Great video, thanks Qoves!
I’ve always loved my glasses and frequently find people wearing glasses more attractive. My mom on the other hand can’t stand her glasses and always wears contacts. When I look at the coke bottle glasses she had to wear I can see why she isn’t a fan. The options for cute and affordable glasses today are way better when I got my first pair then they had been in the past. (I’m born in 2001)
my eyes are different shapes/ sizes but no one can tell because i have glasses at least:) but i have to wear heavily tinted lenses at all times for severe photosensitivity and people compliment the “sunglasses” all the time thinking it’s a fashion statement and it always makes me uncomfortable because i wish i didn’t have to have glasses that make it impossible for me to fit in
I appreciate glasses for its functions which is what the only thing matters to me. But one in particular is to repel people I don't like, people who can't stand glasses are a red flag to me. I don't mind if most people would be repelled, gives me more space to be by myself.
I look better with my glasses than without it. I have a little wide set eyes but glasses make my eyes look more "normal" Idk how to explain but I would never taken off my glasses lol
It totally depends, you can try to take photos/videos of both and ask people's opinions but remember that there may be bias because certain people are used to seeing you a certain way, and even if you decide you look better without, please dont forgo your glasses just to look better for awhile! Trust me, it's not worth the trade off since your vision is for life and your eye degree will not decrease (become better), you can only try maintain it. You can try contact lens, but it must be done with care and you can get eye infections if you do not keep clean etc. so it's best to just stick with glasses esp if youre still a growing teen/young adult as your degree may not have stabilised yet and may increase very quickly if you do not wear glasses thus straining your eyes, or don't take care of your vision!
@@OoiYunKai actually my vision has been stable for years now, and I tried daily contact lenses I am contemplating getting my vision fixed so I don't need either glasses or contacts, but it's still hard to choose :v
There are severe risks/ dangers (irreversible) associated with such eye surgeries which are underplayed by those who stand to profit. Be careful/ mindful & do lots of research. If you get complications, you'll be worse off than you are now.
I have always been told I look better without glasses but I realized i had old and small glasses that enhanced my cubby cherks, but even now with new better suited glasses , I always take them off in public because I think I look better without them ......
I got glasses in 5th grade. All the way to 9th I got no attention from girls in my class. I got contacts in 10th and suddenly I was picking up pretty much any girl I wanted and regularly got compliments on my eyes. In my twenties I got cheap and lazy and just wore glasses. I suddenly quit getting attention for 4 years. It was a struggle. Never considered it was my glasses. I started contacts again and go figure, women notice me again. Compliments on my eyes regularly. So without a shadow of a doubt; no. Glasses do not make you more attractive. In fact, quite the opposite. Edit: However, glasses might make people trust you more.
Yes and No Q as it depends on the style and fit of the glasses I say - if you have a low nasal bridge your glasses must sit higher on the face and vice versa if you have a high bridge - I think that’s how it works although I may have confused the correct terminology maybe I dunno but it works something like that I’m sure… I wear glasses and I feel fantastic in them so who actually cares if they make me less attractive to the opposite sex - I don’t - not everything in my life begins and ends with pesky men hahahah ! Cheers Q Ttfn;)
I wear glasses because of my vision I get labeled a nerd i hate it so much just because I wear glasses to help me see especially when driving or bowling or anything else i have terrible eyesight
Eek kind of a letdown here. I was hoping you'd do an analysis, a breakdown that focused on different glasses and their comptatbility with each of the face shapes and to facial features-- to help us make an informed decision on which glasses to choose to enhance our facial attractiveness. Kinda like you did with one of your hairstyle videos.
I have been wearing glasses for a long time-since i was in 1st grade. I look wildly different without glasses and honestly it pisses me off because they make me look a lot more unattractive. I don't care about the frame or stuff. My raw look is much better. My bad that i never tried contact lenses.
First and foremost in advance: Sorry, I don't mean to be rude, I'm just very passionate about glasses. But why did you not have any photos of any Superman/Clark Kent in this important video?! I don't need them myself, but since my teens, I've been more attracted to glasses wearing people than not. I've wondered why, I think it's an attractive trait, and I think that is because it makes them have an "imperfection" and makes them more approachable. And of course the "intelligent" vibe. There is also another element I think you've left out - big eyes is an attractive trait, right, especially for women, and if you wear glasses that makes your eyes look bigger, that makes you more attractive (and thus glasses that makes your eyes smaller can be the opposite for some). And for the topic of wearing glasses being less attractive for kids and not necessarily for adults: 1. Kids don't really have a choice in style of glasses, and 2. In my experience (known and worked with several people who had glasses as kids), they often (I'm not saying all) have/had eyes that look in different directions, which is another unattractive trait, that they train to and succeed in getting rid of before becoming older (because of glasses
I've never worn glasses😳👁👁, I have perfect eyesight, and... I got bullied in school by everyone. Even by guys with glasses!.. I love women with glasses! In MY naked eyes👀, they're cuter!🧡💜
Another thing to consider is if you have an oily nose and don’t like to get your glasses tightened too much, it will squish your nostrils. I don’t think it looks attractive 🥲
My prescription glasses make my eyes look smaller, but I have big eyes so they look pretty balanced with my other features, I still prefer my eyes to look bigger but I can't complain too much hehe
Omg sunglasses/shades make me look unattractive cause it covers my eyes which are the most attractive part of my face and highlights my mouth area-the most unattractive part of my face :( I wear clear coloured shades in summer for this reason. Normal glasses make me look geeky and smart lol
What an absolute waste of everyone's time! It was well research (like always), but it was like reading a 'literature review' section of an academic paper without any of the following sections. When you have nothing of note to say, say nothing!

I think they can make you un/attractive based on how your eyes are and what kinda strength the glasses have. If you are shortsighted, wearing glasses will make your eyes smaller, if you are long sighted they will be bigger. I myself have fairly attractive eyes and I am short sighted. When I wear glasses, my eyes become smaller and much of their beauty become hidde, making me look like a 60 year old boomer. A friend doesn't have that attractive eyes, but he is long sighted. His glasses cover up much of the unattractive features and make his eyes bigger, making him look more attractive.
It's simple, guys look better with and women look better without. Here's why, anything that covers a guys face IE beard, glasses, covid mask ... dramatically improve their looks while women are naturally beautiful and anything that coverts their face hinders their looks (insert paper bag or butter face joke here). As a neatly bearded bespectacled man I can say with certainty that I look better with a perfectly sculpted beard & glasses while wearing a tailored suit, cheers.
Before I even watch this they make you look worse if you need them for everything, not by choice. It also shows weaker genetic potential. Also attractive on attractive people, just like beards etc. You can only afford to be quirky if you're hot.
Instead of looking "intelligent," I think glasses make you look "professional" as if you're about to perform a task that requires good eyesight with precision. Ideally, I wish nobody needed to wear glasses or contacts, but until there's a complete cure for every vision problem, we'll have to tolerate them.
no he complimented glasses it makes more symmetry ur probs old or set bcs in the younger generation people want fake glasses and it make some people actually more attractive
nah ur mental Maddison beer with glasses way more attractive its bcs the shape matters and its actually more attractive idk if ur gay no offence broke bros code
For a man sunglasses are better or just nothing!, and if you are a girl all is better, wearing glasses for a man does not make you attractive and handsome, so for all the Asian guys!!! Please wear contact lens instead, glasses are only for women, break the stereotypes

You should do a video about moles, that would be a great watch. 😃
I don't understand why but I've always been attracted girls who wear glasses.
Same! In MY naked eyes😳👁👁(I don't need glasses), it's because they seem less full of themselves!💚💙
I’d love for you to do a full video expounding on the matter of appearance’s affects on employment opportunities - not just glasses, even not only overall attractiveness per se, but every aspect of appearance.
I find men who wear glasses very attractive. It looks intellectual.

Shoutout to the bates method for improving my vision to 20/20 without any glasses and serving as a reminder people will always believe the bigotry 😆
does the bates method work even for people with astigmatism ?
@@smyna2361 yes it does
Thank u so much for this.. I actually love seeing my crushes wear it ❤️
Love this! I love my glasses! Glad they make me look more credible, maybe :)
In my case glasses make me look more attractive and younger 😂🤷🏻♀️ and sunglasses look even better😂
You take so long to post new video I watch the some video so many times but I appreciate you efforts of making new video love qoves studio ❤
Ah well, if my glasses make me "less attractive" it is what it is, I'd rather be able to have sharp vision 🤣
for me, i rather wear contacts than glasses , i have some assymetry on my nose and jaw, its not that obvious but i find that glasses make the asymmetry a lot more noticeable specially on my nose, and the most atractive feature i have on my face its my eye area. when i started wearing glasses i had them for around two years but i never felt happy because even if i do my make up and style my hair, glasses take away all the effort as soon as i put them on, so i rather struggle with contacts lol
(I’m born in 2001)
Why do some women look better with glasses?
Well I must be one of the lucky ones because everyone tells me I look great with glasses on
Woman get compliments independent on how anything looks. If fat old bald still gets compliments
I have a long midface so glasses hide that! They actually make me look better
my eyes are different shapes/ sizes but no one can tell because i have glasses at least:)
but i have to wear heavily tinted lenses at all times for severe photosensitivity and people compliment the “sunglasses” all the time thinking it’s a fashion statement and it always makes me uncomfortable because i wish i didn’t have to have glasses that make it impossible for me to fit in
I appreciate glasses for its functions which is what the only thing matters to me.
What if as a girl I have naturally big eyes, but my glasses correcting for myopia make them look a lot smaller? Is it better without?
@@OoiYunKai actually my vision has been stable for years now, and I tried daily contact lenses
I am contemplating getting my vision fixed so I don't need either glasses or contacts, but it's still hard to choose :v
There are severe risks/ dangers (irreversible) associated with such eye surgeries which are underplayed by those who stand to profit. Be careful/ mindful & do lots of research. If you get complications, you'll be worse off than you are now.
@@brigitteleafbarnes1441 true, I may be better off keeping my glasses and wearing contacts when I want a bit of change
I have always been told I look better without glasses but I realized i had old and small glasses that enhanced my cubby cherks, but even now with new better suited glasses , I always take them off in public because I think I look better without them ......
I have perfect eyesight😍& have never worn glasses👁👁. I love my naked eyes😳👀, but, I say women are better-looking WITH glasses!
Cheers Q
Ttfn;)
Kids glasses tend to be ugly… honestly they’re usually hideous. If kids had less ugly glasses maybe it would be a bit better
I literally just got my first pair of glasses 2h ago…
they're called coincidences
@@20jumps nah its probs good people want fake glasses in my highschool
@@20jumps well sometimes good coincidences bcs it makes me more attractive so oh well
Yes it obscures eye area
I was literally talking about this with my friends 2 days ago we all wear glasses but we think that we look better without it
Another thing to consider is if you have an oily nose and don’t like to get your glasses tightened too much, it will squish your nostrils.
Literally got my glasses in the mail an hour ago
slayyyy
Everyone looks better without, but how much better depends on the glasses
Needing glasses is a disability and disabilities are unattractive to most people so I would assume that’s why. It’s just not a natural face.
I wear Tom Fords thick frames glasses. WOW, people walk up to me all the time to say how nice they look.. Depends on the glasses..
One of the main reasons
Why I had lasik
Was because I hated my glasses they made me insecure
But now I feel stupid for feeling like that
They always called me Steve Urkel in elementary school lol
now its popular depends on what face tho
What an absolute waste of everyone's time! It was well research (like always), but it was like reading a 'literature review' section of an academic paper without any of the following sections. When you have nothing of note to say, say nothing!
Glasses makes me more unattractive? How is that possible?
only for girls or women it makes them look unattractive, but not for boys or men
@@boredouttamymind03 Yes some girls look attractive with glasses but most girls don't, at least according to me. But according to most girls, I think they tend to like boys with glasses than those without one

i find jack antonoff really hot though.
My glasses conceal my nose bump, so I require them 😭
It's simple, guys look better with and women look better without.
@QOVES Studio 8:43 what is that sound
Before I even watch this they make you look worse if you need them for everything, not by choice. It also shows weaker genetic potential.
Also attractive on attractive people, just like beards etc. You can only afford to be quirky if you're hot.
If you are attractive at base glasses doesn't make look nerd but intelligent
Thanks
they usually make u look/feel cooler tho
Instead of looking "intelligent," I think glasses make you look "professional" as if you're about to perform a task that requires good eyesight with precision. Ideally, I wish nobody needed to wear glasses or contacts, but until there's a complete cure for every vision problem, we'll have to tolerate them.
i have never felt more grateful to be wearing contact lenses than i do now
no he complimented glasses it makes more symmetry ur probs old or set bcs in the younger generation people want fake glasses and it make some people actually more attractive
Can you do a video on Gwendoline Christie?
