"market share' is repetitive; well, there are some synonyms: usage share, markeet dominance, growth, market competitiveness, market penetration, sales figures, etc.
Awesome work! It's very helpful, thanks. I was wondering if the "market share" used 3 times in the first 3 sentences at the beginning might be deemed an overly repetitive pattern?

With due respect, this is not band 9 but 7.5. I have seen multiple writings comprising band 9 in academic version. Extra-information as it is in yours has 'diminishing returns' in achieving band 9. I am not implying your effort is futile; you are doing a great job. Keep it up. When it comes to essays, you're upgrading them by using advanced phrases and sentences; let it born into your mind that what appears challening for the students is: generating ideas, using the vocabulary with collocations of C2 when needed in the limited time, etc. I have observed students accomplish higher bands whilst writing at home without caring about time; notwithstanding, whence dealt with time-limitation and pressure, their performance experienced a sharp decline. The internet is replete with band 9 samples. Equipping with advanced sentences structures is an uphil task for learners. Time management is another looming large aspect. Confidence and patience are too primary culprits. I might be amiss; I am open to other notions. Thank you for reading. No offence.
It’s my own creation but it sounds good stylistically - there’s definitely an idiom to say ‘the whatever giant’ e.g. the streaming giant, the rock giant (a musician) etc. I just changed ‘giant’ to ‘colossus’.
@@traveltheworld6685 I will make it when I have 15 texts - I mention it now so in the future people will know it exists when they watch my old videos. I suppose I’m ‘future-proofing’ my videos- that’s definitely a C2 word 😀
That’s a good point. I did think that on Task 1 it was okay to comment solely on observable trends. However, perhaps I’m incorrect. Either way, hopefully you can take some vocab and expressions from it. 😀
@ I definitely learnt the language. As long as you’re not listing, I’ve been told that we need to cover the points for task 1 as it’s presented there. Also, the data that you used is not an authentic test, so that’s why.
Most underrated youtube channel!
What a kind thing to say - thanks. 🤩

Thank you - it might be too repetitive but there isn’t really another synonym - this sometimes happens and I always try to vary vocabulary. 😀

None taken and thanks for commenting. It's all a work in progress and I'll consider your comments.
Thank you so much.

Is it colloquial or collocation? Streaming colossus

Is it a bit too long for a task 1 you think?
I think it was 185 words but it does say ‘write more than 150’. But yes - on the long side.
@@englishlearningexpert3595 your lessons are amazing. Is the task 1 book coming out soon?

Thanks for your reply. I'm working on my IELTS and then C2. Would love to connect with you. Plan to visit the UK at the end of this year.
What is your band score in IELTS
I’m English so I hope it would be 9+! 😀

What about Hulu, Disney, etc. You didn’t cover and it would hurt the task achievement score.
