In this video I go over the history of the Chuck E. Cheese’s location in Lexington Kentucky. Which is also the final history episode on a Kentucky Chuck E. Cheese location.
This video idea goes back to mid 2021 when I was trying to figure out what Chuck E. Cheese location to do next after Paducah. I then decided to continue covering the Kentucky locations and chose Lexington since it was the last location I had yet to talk about.

You know, growing up I never went to a Chuck E Cheese in the Lexington area even once, because pretty much everyone knew Gattitown was better. Every party I went to as a kid was there.
Yeah Gattitown was basically the Chucky e cheese for Lexington kids
I worked there during the incident involving the early shut down and you have a couple things off, firstly the managers son (not daughter) broke his leg and the other manager was sick with the flu, but it certainly was confusing going in only to be sent home

I went to Showbiz in Lexington around 1983. I played the sit down version of Star Wars Arcade over and over. The animatronics were cool - but creepy (I was 8 years old)
This month, I'm going to Chuck E. Cheese's in Tallahassee, FL. This is one of the few 3-stage locations that did not originate as a Showbiz Pizza.
As some who grew up going to this location it’s so amazing to see someone actually covering it.
I have so many memories of this location from the early 2000’s going there with my sadly late cousin playing in the center and meeting kids I’d never see again in the tubes and I went there once when studio c beta was active and was kinda disappointed that the animatronics (something I was a fan of as a kid) were all but gone leaving screens that loop the same things every 5ish minutes.
Side note I very much understand not being a fan of Lexington it’s one of those cities that is like a labyrinth with many one way roads and confuses many people.

Enjoyed the vid! I grew up in the early 90's and can say the animatronics are what made the experience for me and my friends. I realize they were a bit creepy, but I have such nostalgia from it. And at that age, we were more amazed by them. It's a shame they decided to get rid of the stage and characters for bland back-drops or TV screens (as if kids need more screens). It's kind of depressing Lol Maybe the animatronics will make a come back!
Used to live in the Woodhill area. we called it Hoodhill lol.
One possible reason that the Lexington Chuck E Cheese's fell into such disrepair might be due to the decline of the surrounding neighborhood. The Woodhill area became known as a rough area, and I remember that some pizza delivery places wouldn't even deliver to some of the apartment complexes there, because of the danger. It's hard to get parents to bring their kids to a restaurant within an area with that kind of reputation. That had to affect their bottom line.

I grew up in Lexington, I live about 20 minutes away from it and I went to this location so much as a kid. Haven't watched the video yet but I can't wait to.

I grew up with this location and had so many childhood memories of Showbiz pizza. I even remember when it switched over to Chuck E Cheese. My daughter is 19 and had her childhood there too.
I remember going to this place and when they removed Mr Munch 8 year old me wrote an angry letter and those Basterds never responded.
Enjoyed the video. Haha I drove past it 2 weeks ago and was wondering how it was doing. I was there several times from late 80s to mid 90s for kids birthday parties...good memories

I live here and I can say I used to go as a kid. It was definitely kind of creepy. The staff wasn’t the nicest and it was never the cleanest place. The location isnt terrible but it could be better. Like you said, everyone switched to gattitown and malibu jacks or monkey joes. I pass the location often and its almost barren at least compared to how busy it used to be. We will see how long it lasts now with all of the changes🤔
I’m really showing my age with this one lol I had my 4th birthday at this location when it was showbiz. I distinctly remember the ball pit they had and they also had a coin ride that was one seat and it rotated like a Ferris wheel. showbiz was the best!
I live in Kentucky and I think this is the only Chuck E. Cheese in the state I’ve not been to, I went to bowling green and Louisville’s as a kid, bowling greens was always my favorite
I Was Afraid of the Chuck E Cheese Mascot When I Was Little in the Late 2000s And The Last Time I Went to Chuck E Cheese's Location in Lexington was 6 Years ago, I Haven't Been Back To that Location Since.
I had a bday at Showbiz at this location. Ended up with nightmares as the bear slowly made its rounds. Ended up with a buddy that worked Chuck E cheeses and he did the chucky shuffle for me on my 16th bday. Lexington is a good city but as time goes on I'm trying to get to a smaller satellite town just close enough. Thanks for vid

I tend to forget that this was the location with "Kitzi Mitzi", I've always liked that outfit and the MSU one from Memphis. I think a cool history one you could do is of a former SPP turned CEC that didn't have the RAE 3-stage. There's about a dozen locations that actually had the RAE mini stage for a while after they opened because they were small locations (this was in 1983 as well), and I think that'd be kinda fun to talk about.

I ran this location from May 2006 to September 2014. A few clarifications for you. The phase 4 remodel was in 2007 not 2006. I am a uofl fan, so when we changed to the purple shirt, I kept the red hat. I joked and said there were too much blue in Lexington and it could use more red.
The moon and sun were part of the stage until the 2007 remodel. The ne red tables were installed in 2007 not for phase 3. Phase two and 3 had the same table package at the store.
Down-grade 2.0.
Finally at 13:09 “Looney Bird became Pizzacam”. Missing that from previous CEC videos.

My childhood location was the Worcester location but I never find much information on that location. I was a video like this on that location would happen because you clearly have more experience researching CEC locations then I

That would probably would be the history of Cec in San Jose. With the 3 locations Winchester blvd (the 1st cec ever) (1977-1985) Krooser rd (1978-2020) and Tully rd (1981-)

I had my 5th birthday party there I’m 23 now but man I had a blast there. A Monkey joes was opened in Danville Kentucky about 35 mins from lex. I live in a small town right beside Danville. But I can say monkey joes didn’t last. I stopped going to chucke cheese when I turned 10 and as I got older I started going to champs Malibu jacks and a trampoline park that opened up. Then I hit high school and I quit going to all of them. Man those were the days.

I went to the Lexington Chuck E. Cheese a couple of times as a kid.
Growing up, I was always ready to go to Chuck E Cheese 🧀🍕 in Lexington. My trip to lex was always to see my aunt or my dad at one point in time. So many memories of this place!!
I went the last time in 2008? And I remember realizing the anamatronics had been replaced with the green screen thing. Studio C whatever you call it and was so very disappointed. Tho my niece & nephew had a good time I wished they could have experienced what I did growing up.

It’s really interesting that Lexington changed to phase 4 logo so soon, I believe the one in bowling green that I always went to kept cool Chuck until they rebranded it again in 2013 and skipped phase 4

They have the Noah’s Ark and the Barney train ride at the Tyler, Texas location. I have never seen you do the history of Chuck E. Cheese in Tyler, Texas. I am not sure if it was a former show biz pizza place.

Was the blurry phase 3 exterior Lexington? When they remodeled in 2006, the Chucky trapped in the white circle to the right was removed.
