The video’s been getting a lot of traction lately so I thought I would address some things: 1. I know I pronounced Iliff wrong, I didn’t know how it was pronounced and used google translate to help as I couldn’t find any videos mentioning the street name correctly. 2. The reason this was re-edited was because of some things I had to take out of the 1st version which offended people and got me a ton of online threats. If you want to see the original version someone put it on internet archive, that’s the only one I’m ok with.

Nathan did work there longer though I believe. I worked there during 1992 and 93 - I quit in June of 93. I feel I worked with Nathan a lot longer than a month though. Many do not remember the massacre and of course it will always stick with me. Occasionally I have driven by where it used to be and it brings back so many memories. Fascinating documentary. I was in high school in 1981 and worked as a gameroom attendant at this restaurant when the original Showbiz opened. This brought back a lot of memories. I only worked there for about a year. As a gameroom attendent I had all the keys to the video games so when my friends would come in I would open up the machine, hit this little clicker thing inside which would give credits on the machines so my friends could play for free. Management got wise so I was let go 😂. I was long gone before the tragedy happened.

That's the problem with the inefficient justice system, bureaucracy, the 'mental health card' and party politics impeding - and eventually abolishing - the death penalty. But what was that thing that slipped past editing that was taken out? Also, it's a shame you didn't make a thx 4 an awesome season drawing for the very end of the video.
I think this explains my husband's negative view on CEC in Aurora. I'm not a CO Native, but I remember my husband making a weird comment about the CEC across the street from Joann's when I was shopping there for fall decor. (Hubby born and raised in Aurora, CO).
Grew up going to this CEC, and the “mall” it was next to. Always weird vibes, but we still went, cause why not. We had moved there in ‘92 I believe, I was 4, from LA. Then we moved to Littleton a yearish later and the Lone Tree one became our go-to. I can’t remember if it had replaced Discovery Zone, or was just built next to it and took its business, causing it to close down. Wow, flood of memories here.
man the fact that they took all the stage off, the playplace & rides fills me with rage, lol its just depressing that kids can't play anymore and everything is so bland now
Fellow Coloradan here! Though the Aurora location was not the one I've been to as a child, Chuck E. Cheese is such a nostalgia trip, sad they changed my home location to a 2.0
I'm glad I'm not the only one who's lived here and is totally weirded out by seeing someone talk about it, this is super wild :0 Aurora can be a really weird town. Even within itself, the North and South ends are completely different from eachother. I remember hearing about the theater shooting a long time after it happened, despite living here myself - my family hid it from me because it happened on my birthday
so strange to see my home city on my youtube feed. this is just a few minutes from me, i never went to the original but i went to the 2nd CEC as a kid plenty of times
I enjoyed watching your video. What will forever stay with me is the animatronics still playing while the deceased were still there. Kinda creepy. May they all RIP.
I love how close i live to these chuck e cheeses places all throughout my life and always remember my mom talking abt the storys, i can legit see my house street on one of the pictures
Such a trip to watch. I could walk to all of these locations from my house right now. The new Chuck E Cheese is SO depressing. Especially since i went to the old one for my birthdays and i remember all the animatronics and the wind tunnel where you could try to grab as many flying tickets as possible. There were plastic tubes that kids could climb in along the whole play area. It was a blast. Even had to cut a birthday party short once because the birthday boy accidently cut his eyeball on some other kids toenail. Took my own kids to the current location and its just depressingly empty aside from the interactive projection floor thing.
If I remember right, my sisters and I used to frequent the previously-Showbiz location for birthdays and such, before they closed down. In fact, I believe we might have visited before it became a Chuck E. Cheese's, because I definitely have some memories seeing the original Showbiz animatronics.
when my family first moved to the US in the early 2000s, we lived in aurora. I never knew about this tragedy, but it's a strange feeling to watch a documentary featuring places I still drive past semi-regularly.
RIP to all those who died in the incident, my thoughts and prayers go to the victims and their families also btw burlington wa still has the phase 3 “pointer chuck” sign. it is the last location on the planet to have such sign. the sign was mainly installed in locations that were in shopping centers and malls, or in highly populated areas that are hard to navigate. the last two locations that had this sign was long island ny, and of course, aurora co before they got the dreaded 2.0 remodel. if you want to see this rare and interesting sign for yourself, go to burlington wa while you can. i don’t know when that location is going to get the dreaded remodel but probably sometime this year, since CEC wants all locations to be remodeled by 2025.
I've only been to Chuck E Cheese a few times. As a kid, I lived near the Peoria location. I probably would have gone at some point, but my brother was killed at an unrelated shooting around the same time. I remember going to a location in Denver in about 1985. I've never been inside the Iliff location, but the north end of that building used to be a stand alone arcade, right next to a theater in the 90s. It's a tradgedy what happened back in the 80s.
Can you do a history for the Chuck E Cheese in Amherst, NY? I remember that location was under scrutiny in 2018 over two different fights on different days. (The second fight led to an employee being fired)
He would do that, or maybe he can do a history of Chuck E. Cheese's in Kansas City, Missouri. That place was originally a Showbiz Pizza, which was the first Showbiz Pizza Place ever opened.
I live here, dawg 😅 I went to Overland High School which is literally down the street from the Iliff Commons, I live not even a mile from Overland High school.

I have lived in the Denver area since ' 91 so I know very well about the chuck e cheese m ur ders . One of my hair stylists used to say oh yeah we're right in there where the chuck e cheese happened, in order to give clients directions. I've lived in the area since '91, but have stayed away from aurora as much as possible; if you look up local or national news...that's where all the bad crimes happen. Aurora CO. Armpit of the Denver area.
This came up on my recommendations. I think TH-cam is spying on us. How in hell would TH-cam figure out my hometown despite I haven't searched for it before?
If you have a smartphone, you're being tracked. It's not just TH-cam, pretty much every service knows where you are located because you have internet. Spoiler alert! Your ip address can identify the area you live in.
It would be really cool to meet everyone in Colorado, but it would be dangerous due to kidnappings and ETC, as a mature 11 year old hearing about my own country (Colorado). This makes me learn more about where I live, by the way, Longmont.
Maybe next you could make an video about an different country’s chuck e cheese I live in Ontario and there is 2 munches make believe bands and both are different types there also are 2 studio c animatronics that are different and the terrible 2.0 remodel
Ahhh! I remember this! I went there when I was a kid! Showbiz, actually, it was a long time ago but the photos bring back memories. I agree, It's fuzzy but I think it was the King...
Can you make A history on chuck e cheese in viera florida? Never been but before it was replaced with what i think is A home depot it had A avenger chuck sign instead of rocker chuck. It made me curious
I went to this CEC as a kid and the whole thing is like a goddamn fever dream. It scared me so bad. I remember not talking for a solid 5 hours after leaving. Might've been the autism or the fact that I was a 2 year old who was forced to go to a pizza rat's parlor and watch him and his buddies perform on stage for hours.
I'm Aurora Colorado born and raised. My uncle lost a friend. One of my past bosses worked at that Showbiz. I have a few pictures of the current location from the early 2000s somewhere. Also, it's pronounced Eye-liff.
you should do a history on a Chuck E. Cheese location in texas someday !!! I’m a rlly big fan of Chuck E. Cheese and Showbiz Pizza, and I love your videos !!!!! I remember going to a Chuck E. Cheese location as a child several times, it was around 2013 or 2014 I think, when I would have been 4 or 5 years old. I actually found a photo on my mom’s old phone of me there. I remember the animatronics matching up with the cyberamic 3-stage models, and I remember being slightly scared watching the animatronics as a child bc Chuck would look around the room very robotically, and in one stage of it he would be staring directly at me. I developed a fear of animatronics later as a child, I remember going to the LBG museum on a school field trip and crying because of the animatronic there. the last time I saw animatronics in person was summer 2021 when I was 12 years old and in California on vacation, on the Santa Fe beach walk seeing pirate animatronics in a restaurant and a really creepy animatronic woman inside a machine outside near some arcades. despite my huge fear of animatronics, I liked watching them on TH-cam as a kid too and have been interested in them since around 9 years oldish. I was born in Austin Texas and lived there until 2018 when I moved to a smaller town near Austin, that doesn’t have any Chuck E. Cheese location. I would love it if you did one on Austin, it would probably be easiest to get information on since it’s the capital of Texas, but a video on locations of any other city in Texas would make me incredibly happy too. if you’re reading this, thank you!!!! ♥️
Does anyone remember the place I could go to other than “Death Row Stories” and Murderpedia where I can learn more about Nathan Dunlap and the victims?
There's a documentary on here called Capital Punishment- License To Kill Nathan Dunlap that's from that time period and it has an interview with him, his family, and also the victims. It's good, but there's some parts that will make you angry
The local 9 News Network Website would have some information too. Since I first heard about the whole thing via the news mentioned in 2013. I now live about 10 minutes from the original location. 5 minutes away from the now Aurora CEC location too.

my highschool is a block away from it we used to go to that panera for lunch break and had no idea
@@uwu-owo666 wait did you go to the Panera by the Chuck E. Cheese in superior?
I do know that the police sirens and the dark music from the beginning were taken out as well as the Somebody's watching me cover at the end. But what was that thing that slipped past editing that was taken out? Also, it's a shame you didn't make a thx 4 an awesome season drawing for the very end of the video.
It was the shoes of one of the victims, I didn’t notice it while editing but it was apparently a dead body
@@NathanSpiesoof
Is the photo online?
@@theonlyjaspertjowls it was a screenshot from the death row stories episode on Nathan Dunlap
I understand why it’s re edited, yk yt can age restrict the video and not earn any money
I attended Overland HS with Nathan and Garland Dunlap. We were in the same class. I was at this Chuck E Cheese the day before the incident 😢
Wow What Was It Like 😮
Rest In Peace To The People Died From The Shooting 😔🙏🏻🕊️🪦
I was born in Aurora and heard about this as a kid. Nathan Dunlap shooting up chuck e cheese. Gotta watch this and see what I learn
I think this explains my husband's negative view on CEC in Aurora. I'm not a CO Native, but I remember my husband making a weird comment about the CEC across the street from Joann's when I was shopping there for fall decor. (Hubby born and raised in Aurora, CO).
My regrets from not watching the original video...
This is actually crazy, hearing about what happened on streets I actually know. Great video essay!!!
Gosh damn then the columbine high school happened in Littleton! Do you remember that from your childhood?
Such a beautiful park now though 💜
man the fact that they took all the stage off, the playplace & rides fills me with rage, lol its just depressing that kids can't play anymore and everything is so bland now
I’m a Denver boy and didn’t even know about that shooting. Damn.
Fellow Coloradan here! Though the Aurora location was not the one I've been to as a child, Chuck E. Cheese is such a nostalgia trip, sad they changed my home location to a 2.0
I worked at that Showbiz in 1986-1987. It was interesting to see the history before this tragic event occurred.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who's lived here and is totally weirded out by seeing someone talk about it, this is super wild :0
Aurora can be a really weird town. Even within itself, the North and South ends are completely different from eachother. I remember hearing about the theater shooting a long time after it happened, despite living here myself - my family hid it from me because it happened on my birthday
Weird how I remember the phase three location from my childhood. Almost lost a tooth at the air hockey thanks to my uncle when we played.
You're amazing, Nathan Spies
so strange to see my home city on my youtube feed. this is just a few minutes from me, i never went to the original but i went to the 2nd CEC as a kid plenty of times
I enjoyed watching your video. What will forever stay with me is the animatronics still playing while the deceased were still there. Kinda creepy. May they all RIP.
@Nathan Spies can you do Windsor Ontario Chuck E. Cheese?
I’ve went here a lot of times as a kid and also attended several birthday parties there in Aurora, it was so fun thank you for making this video
If I remember right, my sisters and I used to frequent the previously-Showbiz location for birthdays and such, before they closed down. In fact, I believe we might have visited before it became a Chuck E. Cheese's, because I definitely have some memories seeing the original Showbiz animatronics.
I’ve been watching for 3 years.
when my family first moved to the US in the early 2000s, we lived in aurora. I never knew about this tragedy, but it's a strange feeling to watch a documentary featuring places I still drive past semi-regularly.
Can you do the history of munch costume and bot or history o Chuck E. Cheese in Boca Raton
23:17 THATS THE SAME SANDWICH I EAT WTF
Lmao
RIP to all those who died in the incident, my thoughts and prayers go to the victims and their families
also btw burlington wa still has the phase 3 “pointer chuck” sign. it is the last location on the planet to have such sign. the sign was mainly installed in locations that were in shopping centers and malls, or in highly populated areas that are hard to navigate. the last two locations that had this sign was long island ny, and of course, aurora co before they got the dreaded 2.0 remodel.
if you want to see this rare and interesting sign for yourself, go to burlington wa while you can. i don’t know when that location is going to get the dreaded remodel but probably sometime this year, since CEC wants all locations to be remodeled by 2025.
This is a very sad 😢😢😢 and bizare history video nathan and its weird to pikalove and other fans in and out of Colorado
I’ve been here every week this past month 😂loving it
i’ve lived in aurora co almost my whole life and i’ve never heard about this
I've only been to Chuck E Cheese a few times.
I had just turned 3 years old and was at this location for a bday party a week before this incident.. wow thanks for this video.
can you do history of cec in lowell massachusetts
That’s my location
is it the one over by Krispy crème?
btw sorry to hear that happened during editing.
No, This is over by Overland highschool, the building is now a Panera Bread and a plastic surgery place
I live here, dawg 😅
I went to Overland High School which is literally down the street from the Iliff Commons, I live not even a mile from Overland High school.
Is that where columbine happened 🤔
@gwenmloveskpopandmore Nope, the columbine shooting happened at Columbine High School. Overland High School is just SUPERRRRRR close to where all the stuff in the video takes place. We talking 5 minute walk
Damn I grew up going to the Chuck E. Cheese in lone tree less than 20 minutes away from shooting
The weirdest thing is that thats the only chuck e cheese ive been to
That’s weird I mean it’s probably only the closest one near you
Same……. It’s so weird!
i think that part of the showbiz pizza commercial where the kid said goodbye to billy bob was cute
I remember growing up going to this location. So many fond memories until there weren’t any!
It would be really cool to meet everyone in Colorado, but it would be dangerous due to kidnappings and ETC, as a mature 11 year old hearing about my own country (Colorado). This makes me learn more about where I live, by the way, Longmont.
Much better and emotional too!
Nathan how do you make your thumbnails?
Hickenlooper is disgusting. Not surprising that a man who watches pornography with his own mother would deprive those victims' families justice.
We call him “hick-and-pooper”
Maybe next you could make an video about an different country’s chuck e cheese I live in Ontario and there is 2 munches make believe bands and both are different types there also are 2 studio c animatronics that are different and the terrible 2.0 remodel
I will also gladly help if you need anything about the location in Vaughn because I used to go there a lot and also recently went there
Ahhh! I remember this! I went there when I was a kid! Showbiz, actually, it was a long time ago but the photos bring back memories. I agree, It's fuzzy but I think it was the King...
why are we all from aurora!!
Can you make A history on chuck e cheese in viera florida? Never been but before it was replaced with what i think is A home depot it had A avenger chuck sign instead of rocker chuck. It made me curious
Why would you delete it?
Re-Editing, he took criticism and re-edited the video. Which is understandable
lived here with my GF our whole lives...Aurora has some scary history lol
I went to this CEC as a kid and the whole thing is like a goddamn fever dream. It scared me so bad. I remember not talking for a solid 5 hours after leaving.
Might've been the autism or the fact that I was a 2 year old who was forced to go to a pizza rat's parlor and watch him and his buddies perform on stage for hours.
Probably both
I lost two of my friends that night.
Can you please make a video of the Columbia sc location
I remember going to that exact CEC when I was a kid right before all that happened
21:31 Massacre Cheese: A Nathan Dunlap story.
Oh wow I remember this one it was so much fun as a kid
Please do the history of showbiz and chuck e cheese in longview tx!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
As a colorado native, aurora has quite the reputation even till this day...
Haven't watched yet. But I know what this is about, and although I was very young, I remember this vividly.
RIP, But can you make a video on Charleston WV Location?
@@Rylanimations buddy I feel bad, I can’t Do anything else to request as I don’t have discord, I understand what happened and I know it’s tragic but don’t go attacking a dude over a comment just trying to ask for a video, this was a horrible incident and my condolences go out to the family’s of the victims but that doesn’t mean you attack some kid who understands what happens and simply asked for a video request, you are so odd buddy, just let someone be, we all understand but it’s hard to understand, this was tragic, and don’t go attacking kids over things, now goodbye.
Nathan what do you use for editing
