    I was one of the classical dance students in the video and it is so nostalgic to see everything that was captured after all these years, I have always been thankful to all my teachers.

    Beautiful documentary, brought me to tears. I’m proud to be the daughter of a Khmer Rouge survivor. I’m proud to have danced royal ballet along side my mother when I was just a small girl at 5 years old. I’m first generation American but I’ll never forget my roots 🇰🇭. Wow our women are stunning. I love my culture and my people ❤

    Thank you, our Khmer will never forget good friends all over the world. We are not claiming anything BUT we need to speak out for our heritage which was created by our Khmer ancestors. Those thai (I'm not mentioning all Thai people, I believe good and knowledgeable thai still exists) will never take our heritage once more even though they keep GLASS LIGHTING on over the internet by videos and facebook groups, interest, quora...
    Thanks and sending love to you all. @Native Khmer in Vietnam.

      Understood! I just discover they are expert at slandering and distorted the histories of Cambodia. Honestly I’m too busy with my work I don’t have time to go around and spread hatred but I discover every time we had Khmer cultures channels these neighbor people are sneaky and misleading, spreading lies and falsify the Khmers documentary.
      Since Ancient Khmer Empire Civilization they raid and seized Khmer Empire outlying provinces were stolen total 19 Khmer provinces that Thailand still in possession. Vietnamese seized Khmer outlying provinces total 21 Khmer provinces still Vietnam had in their possessions.

    How uneducated people are to even leave a thumbs down. So disappointing. This is a fantastic watch . Thank you

    • @Vee_of_the_Weald
      @Vee_of_the_Weald 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have the feeling that perhaps, people who thumbed down did so because they found the teachers very hard on the children - which they are. I went to a Catholic school where we were treated this way, including physical punishment + studied ballet, who’s rules and regulations(and punishments) are also very harsh (and backwards, frankly). Today in western society, this way of “educating” kids is no longer acceptable and I’m grateful for this.
      What people don’t realise is that these dance teachers and Cambodia as a country is still recovering from years of deep trauma. People of war are hard people. Let them heal. Their children and grand children will be softer, but they must heal first.

    I enjoyed the documentary. A few of the words was lost in translation. Example, “Khmao’s” mother wasn’t calling herself an idiot, although the exact word is idiot, when she used the word in her response/sentence, she meant she’s not educated. Minor, but still understandable.

    The dance looked so much better when the girls were dressed in the old school drees code. Funny hos it's called progress when we all know it's the opposite. All thst that has passed, but things have gone backwards.

    In the first minute of the film the young ladies were chatting about wanting to copy the ancient apsara on the wall, but the only way they could look just like her is if she took her top off😩🤣 that’s why they were giggling like that lol.
