This was a superb review and showcase! Thanks for showing it "all" with different types of planes, F16 as well as Helicopters which should be one of the major benefits of FF.
Jester...omG , it is a pleasure to meet you and a delight that YT added your channel on my YT home screen otherwise i would never find you, subscribed, cant wait to sneak peek your videos. much love from Portugal-Lisbon
10:17 this moment was so funny and intense at the same time...when you asked " is that boss fight music" that just cracked me up but at the same time gave some seriousness and a cool vibe to the moment..well scripted bother, was scripted right? if wasnt was even more badass.
you're a legend dude! nice video, so so hype to see FFB coming back to flight sims! I was more into racing sims in the 2000s and 2010s before getting into flight sims the last few years, and I was SHOCKED to see the lack of FFB in the market.
I’m still awaiting for them to send back my Brand New AB9. I got it broken. Motors, Axis never worked. Glad to see that Axis works on VIRPIL now. Been weeks and my broken base is still not replaced. “Awaiting Counting” for a week now at the warehouse. 😮
Nice review! The one question on my mind is: How does it deal with overheating? Also, it seems the software has some room for improvement: the Rhino software automatically switches profiles when you switch aircraft, so you don’t need to do that manually. Especially in VR this is a nice QoL feature 😊
Been enjoying this baby for a few weeks and I will NEVER go back. I came from a winwing ex on the orion so I thought maybe it would just be a small step up but I could not have been more wrong. It transforms how close you can push to the edge and even over it while still maintaining control. You can toss the tomcat around almost like a hornet and the base let's you know exact what's happening. Feeling the spoilers deploy in a turn is kind boggling and we don't even need to discuss the religious experience the a10 is now. I didn't think a single piece of hardware could revolutionize how dcs was for me but I couldn't have been more wrong. BTW, the phantom in a masterclass in feelz now too. I'm still a crap phantom pillow t but I'll be darned if I don't spend time trying to get that edge to be good in her.
same man, i came from using a Virpil base and this thing is just amazing, there are still a few modules that are a bit lacking but those aren't the ones i normally fly anyway.
I nearly ordered this from the the Moza website after watching this review, but hen I got to checkout and they wanted to charge me £95 for delivery! Not happening.
Moza's customer service had been terrible. I the base I got had a short or somthing that caused the case to get extremely hot even while not in use. I sent the stick base back over a month ago, and they keep dragging their feet. They have the product I paid for and will not send a new one.
Just go for a Rhino. All open source. When anything fails just re print it or get excellent customer support from VPForce. There is even more powerful solutions on DIY basis for the Rhino.
How is it with the Warthog grip? Also, I'm concerned about vibration feedback through the floor since I'm in an attic and don't want to annoy my wife sleeping below with rumbles through the floorboards... 😊
How do I bolt it down? Want to keep the stick between the legs like you did, not attached to a table. Don't want to invest in a whole aircraft sim pit. Just something super sturdy I can put down on the floor.
Very nice and detailed video! Looking to upgrade from a T16000 after 3 years of DCS and over 900 hours. With the desk mount, would this shake the absolute shit out of my desk? That is pretty much my only worry at this point
In the F14, the Autopilots can be disabled by using force on the stick and with enough pressure it will disable. Is something like this possible with the FFB Stick?
I just got the base and it rumbles on the ground but the yoke does not move inside the plane and I cannot control any plane. Any recommendations on setup. Moza has been horrible with customer service. DCS and IL2 works fine but no luck on flight simulator 2022
I would suggest joining their discord as there's a lot of people in there who rave about flight sim 2020 who got it working. Could bounce some questions off the community there
It's a clever idea. I'm not 100% sure if they're doing it that way, but basically if instead of stick deflection they read how hard the FFB is pushing against you, that'd effectively give you a force reading.
@@jubuttib technically, they don't have force sensor. but they can alter force on a different distance, hence - calculate "price" (force) user applied to reach certain limits. Motor is too weak to create boundaries and we don't know curvature / max force needed to pull 8-G. But it\s great that FFB is flexible enough to give us wide range from F-16 to loose helicopter sticks.
@@unotoli Yup, no force sensor, but they know the force that the motors are applying, which is ~equal (when not accelerating, but that can also be calculated for) to the force being applied to the stick. So not true force sensing, but a roundabout method of achieving much the same. And yeah, can't do full stops, so an additional gate would be helpful for that, but not really necessary, if you feel that you're overpowering the stick then you already know you're pushing at full force.
Pity Moza are so bad at programming thier own hardware that they have resorted to using the VP Force software to power thier force feedback base! and using it without crediting VP Force and making thier own software open source which are both legal requirements for using someone else's own source software! Very bad form for such a big company especially when they don't even know what half of the "copied". Software actually does!
Where did you even read about that? Just tried researching it for myself & the last mention I found was from a few months ago where someone in the comments of a Reddit thread was comparing it to VPForce saying that it lacks some features compared to that software, but that's it

It's the best Moza review so far. Thanks. I Love the GrayFlag server also.

I've been watching a bunch of your videos and felt you had one of those familiar voices but couldn't place it. Friggin Jester!
I love that El Rojito and Macbar's skins made it in the vid! Will be looking at one of these for my next upgrade. Great video great shirt!
FIRST REVIEW?!?!? 10/10
Dude that was sick asf getting my ab9 soon
Based off of this vid.. im.seriously thinking about switching my Virpil equipment out for Moza. Very well done.
best demonstration video of the Moza FFB yet. Well done sir!

Great review! Definitely answered some questions I had about the Moza.
that lead into the tomcat dog fight was awesome 😄

Thanks for the review! Best so far. Love the shirt! Jester? Makes sense! 😅 Maybe show how easy AAR gets with FFB in a follow up?

Can't believe I'm just now subscribing to JESTER's channel!
I am definitely going to have to check this out myself, I want to build a full flight sim rig and i think this would definitely take it over the top

Thanks for the cool in depth video..I'm considering this FFB base but my concern it's bout IF my VKB MCG Ultimate stick would work on this..🤔
Ordered mine 🎉

Really keen to know if this will improve AAR, will it help you stay in the pocket and stay connected? Thank you.
Is there a left hand grip for all the left seat GA planes?
This would be a great replacement for my G940 for my X-Wing sim cockpit

Nice one, many thanks!
One question: how's the TM Warthog stick on this? (good or bad idea?)
Works Great!

Id say that it'd shake the desk a bit haha yeah. Probably manageable tho id guess

perfect AD to AB9 Feedback Base
What’s in the star citizen tab on the software?
tab is a perpetual beta, just like that game.

Hi I noticed you had a VKB grip sitting on your desk with an adapter for the Moza joystick were do you buy that from.

4:00 Review starts here :)
Hey do u have starcitizen. Have u tried it on there how is it if so
Does the base perform "Autopilot Following" i.e. when AP is activated the moza base makes the stick move in syn with the the stick in the aircraft.
Theoretically, it should
I look at the old Sidewinder I've got on the shelf and think, "what the hell happened?" I loved that joystick. FFB just disappeared after it.
Well not quite, even the Logitech G940 came out 11 years after the Sidewinder FFB2's release. But yeah, sucks. =(

I am surprised it can replicate "force sensing" F-16 stick. With a small "boundaries" mod it could be closer to it.
