    For what its worth, I enjoy the variety in one channel. I think that for reviews you can't beat Luke at trace velo, and honest mechanics from the Ribble valley cyclist. I used to enjoy Mapdec but I think they have started being a bit snobbish with their Look and Time connections. Leonard Lee is an enjoyable and inspiring channel and when I first found you I liked your relaxed style and cheery disposition. So, don't change too much, but for sure give us genuine reviews in the mix. I'm sure behind the scenes creating video content is time consuming so take care not to burn yourself out.

      @petertreadway  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Cheers David, I also love watching ‘as always…. Luke’, as he’s always so detailed with his reviews. Leonard is also great and I love his natural, down to earth presenting style.
      Given the comments, I’ll probably filter a few reviews in on a different day of the week, as and when I get them, to keep them separate from the main blog videos.
      Appreciate the kind words about not burning out too. That’s much appreciated. 🌟

    I have lots of thoughts! As many have already said, we love your content as it already is, I particularlty like the weekly weekend rides with your mates (it almost feels like they're my mates too!), but "we love you as you are!" may not be the most helpful feedback, so I'll try and elaborate..
    As a viewer it's exciting to be following your channel as you're growing and "taking off" so to speak, and I hope that continues. Speaking for myself, I'd prefer you to stick to a single channel, and keep the reviews cycling related. Perhaps a weekly ride / story video, and every other week swap between a Workshop Wednesday and a Review Friday for example?
    In any case, congrats on the continuing success, and see you very soon!

      Thanks Dave. That’s really interesting and heartening to hear. It’s so great to have all of you guys along with me on this journey and, similarly to you, I feel like I’ve become good friends with a lot of you guys too. 💪🏻
      I’ll defo stick to a single channel though and, as you suggest, probably put the review videos out on a different day as and when I do them, so as not to upset the usual Sunday vlogs that people seem to enjoy. 👌🏻
      Thanks so much for your thoughts. 🌟

    I think it's a testament to you as a person to put this out to viewers to make a decision about what they want to see, rather than telling us what you're going to do like it or not. I first found your channel when I was new to cycling, your gravel bike conversion piqued my interest, inspired me to build my own, and I now enjoy your ride videos and banter every week. My own thoughts are that I'm more than happy for you to add tech reviews to this channel as, in my mind it means less admin for you and will leave you more time to enjoy life. Whatever direction you take, you can consider me a continued subscriber, and if you're ever up this beautifully hilly end of the country, bring your bike 😁

    It's the rides with mates vlogging style which appeals most, but that said, as our trusted leading Essex cycling TH-camr, a mix of reviews along the way would be great too! Loving your work, keep them coming, I'd prefer all the content in one channel for what it's worth.

      Really appreciate your thoughts on this. It seems you're not alone on the single channel preference, so I'll defo stick with that and will now likely put any review videos out on a different day, to stop them interfering with the usual Sunday Funday rules that people seem to enjoy.

    I just found your channel because of the cycling bibs video, been watching other videos now, and being a person who likes to watch reviews of almost everything that i buy/use, you keep things real and the attention to details is always good, there will always be a target who likes in-depth or detailed reviews.
    About other channel, i could suggest doing everything in one channel. Variety is key and if you are open or want to do different things, not only associated with cycling, you can always make playlists, you can work different thumbnails for the videos, etc.
    Also it's like natural progression, your channel is "Peter Treadway" which is good and could work as a brand, keeping it neutral, you aren't "Peter the cyclist" or "Peter cycling reviews". Best of luck!

    • @petertreadway
      @petertreadway  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks Elias, I'll definitely be keeping it one channel now, as that's what most people seem to prefer and, as you suggest, I'll likely just make a separate playlist of the previews and put them out on a different day to the usual ride vlogs.
      Really appreciate your input though.

    Well Mr Treadwell, I love the channel and look forward to seeing "a friend" each Sunday. I used to watch Jullette Elliot, but once she got to over 100,000 subs every video was look at what I got this week. I no longer watch her stuff. Reviews are helpful, so not a problem but it's cycling that interests me. I trust you, and think you will come to a good decision. I would like to buy a tyre glide tyre remover, do you know where I can buy one? Remember I need it posting to France. Also one small thing if you start giving away ebikes to subscribers imagine some one in Texas winning a 24 kilo bike. Will a second class stamp be enough. Unfortunately you would have to restrict some things to UK subscribers only. Thanks again for a great video. Oh I just bought a Trek Allant 7+ to help me with the hills and my back.

    • @petertreadway
      @petertreadway  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks so much for your take, Richard. My exact concern is putting off the very people who have helped in building this channel.
      I think I may eventually start a new 'every now and then' series for reviews that go out on a different day, to keep the Sunday funday vlogs the same.
      As for the tyre glider, it appears you can get them on Amazon.fr, if you have access to that. Looks to be around €17 currently.
      And yes, the postage issue for the bikes had crossed my mind and I did consider that I'd probably need to restrict the giveaway to UK only sadly, not just due to the weight, but in the case of e-bikes, transporting the battery on a plane can be an issue!
      Hadn't heard of the Allant though but have just looked it up and have to say it looks a beast of a bike. I do like how good looking e bikes are becoming now.
      Again though, thanks for your detailed thoughts and continued support.

    Came across your channel accidentally. Really enjoy it mate. For me it's the social fun rides that I enjoy the most, I may be wrong here on this but I might suggest the majority of your followers aren't the Cat 1 racers or overly high tech minded people who need the latest and greatest gear/bike tech.. They are probably middled aged men who share the basic love of getting on their bike and simply riding alone or with a few mates.. Add in a few healthy cheeky challenges , whether it be a PB up the hill or a loop to find the best coffee shop in your area. Certainly makes it entertaining, and I guess that's what I subscribed for. You and your mates riding a bike and laughing along the way. Bottom line it's your channel, I am thankful for everything you do to create something that I enjoy and can relate with you.

    I got a you tube suggestion for your channel quite some time ago. The first video I watched got me hooked. Funny and had the feel good factor. So refreshing to just see people enjoying riding their bikes with friends 🙂Think it's amazing that you're putting us people first. Personally I think keep on what you're doing but totally see that the review / giveaway thing is a good idea too. Testament to the type of bloke you are. I have watched channels in the past and when the you tuber's channel got spoilt by sponsorship, it put me off watching them but I honestly don't think that will happen to your channel. Your current style of content is something special, and I'd hate for it to lose that authenticity. I gladly watched your Cycplus review even though I'm not in the market for any air delivery apparatus. It was great to have you confirm the manufacturer claims, and I know you will update us in the future if durability or battery life prove an issue long-term. That being said, it was a bit annoying when the same content was included frame-for-frame within the LtP video. I'd say as long as you avoid reruns it doesn't matter much to me how you choose to include review content. Just keep being upfront and honest, and I'm sure I'll still enjoy listening even if it's not a product I'm interested in buying. I guess I share your enthusiasm for delving into specs and details.

    • @petertreadway
      @petertreadway  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeh, I made a mistake putting that review in the middle of the L2P video. My initial thinking was that it would fit well with the theme of needing to travel light on a long distance ride, but the jumping back to do the testing portion upset the flow of what should have been an adventure video!
      Lesson learned though and I'll be keeping the challenge and review videos largely separate from now on!

    Well done Peter on your channel. You've helped inspire me to do more on mine, although I've a long way to go! I really like your general motivational style, it would be a shame to loose that. How about these ideas? Idea 1 - Perhaps have an occasional dedicated review video in the same channel but title the video as such, and also keep mainly doing other general ride and motivational videos. Idea 2 - If promoting a product, just have a very short section in a regular video, like for a minute, then get straight back to the main part of the video.... or do both both! Perhaps a general review channel, may take a while to get off the ground. Idea 3 - You could mention a product in your main channel though, and give a link to a more detailed review in a review channel. Keep up the brilliant videos. You have a great style, and I'm sure your channel will get much bigger. Stuart... aka Stuggy :)

      By the comments though, it seems that most people are happy with the odd review, so long as it doesn't interfere with the usual ride vlogs, so I'll likely just put them out on a different day, as and when I do them.
      As for the DunRun, I'll be getting to the pub around 5pm I imagine, as my buddy is picking up his brand new Condor Fixie and riding the route on that!!! Bloody mad if you ask me, but it's good for content! 🤣

    Like most stumbled across the channel when searching for something else on cycling. It’s a good channel so started watching your previous stuff and it’s a good mix. I like the build videos but I don’t think reviews would do any harm. Off to watch the pump video now, looks like a bit of tech I could do with…

      Cheers Steve. Yeh, I'll absolutely only ever positively review stuff I believe in, or otherwise I'll give an honest review of something I think should be avoided.
      Watched a Dave Noakes video recently where he said he'd been sent a product to review that everyone was raving about but he thought tasted awful. He said he couldn't stand people giving glowing reviews of something just for the money and I couldn't agree more!
      I can't understand how people can undermine the audience that gave them a platform! Sadly, it's the route most 'influencers' seem to be going lately!

    On the question. Love the cameraderie and laughs between the group and love the reviews so keep both.
    But for me don't mix them in the same video, the Cycplus testing in the middle of I think part 2 didn't work for me. Plus I had already watched the separate video on it so it was a bit of a pain scrolling through TH-cam to get past it.
    Keep up the great Vlogs 😁

    • @petertreadway
      @petertreadway  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeh, I need to hold my hands up and admit the pump review in the middle of the video was a mistake. My thinking was that it would fit nicely with the theme of needing to travel light on a long distance trip, but I realised as I was editing it afterwards that jumping back for the 'testing' portion was too jarring and ruined the flow of what should have just been an adventure/challenge video.
      Still, we learn through our mistakes, so I know what not to do again. I just hope it didn't put too many people off too much.
      Really appreciate your honest thoughts though, Brian. 👌

    Hi mate I’ve been in similar dilemma myself, had loads of stuff sent but only review stuff which I think would be beneficial, Cycplus do fantastic products so review them myself. Turned down ebike’s as there wouldn’t let me say what I wanted. But viewers understand if there want cycling videos to keep the channel going you need to do reviews to help channel grow, it costs a lot for equipment and time so people will understand. If you review things not cycling related just click off the don’t post to subscribers, then if won’t bother them if there just here for cycling. 😊

    • @petertreadway

      Cheers Buddy. Completely agree about needing to be honest with the reviews and having to walk away from companies that won't allow that. I can't understand people risking the trust of their audience for some quick cash!
      I'll likely start a new series of videos on a different day for the reviews, so they don't get in the way of the usual Sunday Funday ride videos.
      I didn;t even know there was a 'don't post to subscribers' button! I'm clearly still a TH-cam newbie! 🤣

    Tough one. Whilst I like tech and gadgets and stuff. sometimes, you can see the same review on half a dozen other channels at the same time when their marketing dept carpet bomb the TH-cam community (but, admittedly, most other cycling channels make me vomit into my mouth violently)
    Honestly? Just lump it all into one channel. Don't dilute your follower base by forcing them to go elsewhere to see other videos from you. If you keep it varied, between rides, builds, vloggy stuff, reviews and giveaways, the theory is even if the latest video isn't for you, then you know there's always another one just around the corner. Just don't become GCN, or I'll be forced to shit myself in protest
