For anyone who doesn't play but wants to know wtf happened: usually unit collision would stop something like this from being possible, but when workers (drones) mine minerals, they lose unit collision, so you can stack as many of them together as you want by rapidly telling them all to mine the same thing.

This is also a good way to hide wounded workers and to disrupt enemy pathing AI when under assault.
Mostly. I have 2 corrections.
1: It works when workers are ordered to harvest resources from a mineral field or your own gas structure (extractor, etc.), whether in production or completed.
2: The workers lose collision only with other units except siege tanks in siege mode.
Additional note: this is called "mineral walking."
What I’m wondering is how he stacked them so cleanly.
@@jaydenly8153 There are a couple ways, but they all end with sending the workers around a corner to a gas structure that's under construction, so they'll be coming from the same angle and stop at the same point without moving somewhere else.
The casual delivery of: "unleash the *omega drone* " is a great mindset to emulate in war.

Stack them on a gas, move from gas to gas to concentrate them, then right click enemy base minerals. They will all take the same path because they're in the same spot. Mineral walking means they don't collide and spread out.
Smash them all together on a mineral patch and then get them to mine the minerals in their base they all move as a stack

Nonsense, this is definitely an ESL 2023 Masters EU tactic!
There was an rts where workers got attack/armor upgrades, and this was a legit tactic. If you saw a single worker rushing you, you hosed it with all the aoe you had. Best part was that the upgrades were good for normal units

It's cute demo showing how you can overlap the units so they appear as a single unit, but for the newbs out there, this will not happen in a real game unless BOTH players have a little skill but deliberately try to set this up. (1) Drone HP and attack are so low compared to fighting units, and (2) drones can't auto attack. You must manually target a unit to attack with each drone, and when the target dies, you have to manually target the drone again. So really a handful of army units can defeat this (3) by the time you have this many drones, even the greediest expander alive will have enough army to wipe the floor with those drones.

@@elvendragonhammer5433 I was wondering the same thing, and I had tried what you said earlier. However, the game linked is a TvZ and the short is a PvZ so they can’t be connected. If you do know where to find the full match though let me know because I’ve been looking for a while.

The vid linked in the description is also just the caster playing mass queens in cheese games, two against terrin and one zvz. None are the games shown in this short.
