      Thank you for watching! One big difference is that Lerici in the Gulf of Poets doesn't have a train station and Bogliasco does. If you want to see Portofino, Camogli, Santa Margherita, Chiavari or Genoa, Bogliasco is a good base. If you want to see the Cinque Terre, or are going next to Pisa or Florence, Lerici is a closer base. They are both awesome and you can't make a wrong decision. All the best for your travels!

      @@happygoluckytravel I can't wait for it! And don't forget that Portofino is a very small beautiful village (less than 400 inhabitants), famous holyday destination for the richer people, but it's also a peninsula that is a preserved natural park which extends over the area of the cities of Camogli, Portofino and Santa Margherita Ligure. A paradise for people that love hicking (more than 50 miles of trails) or diving in the incontaminated marittime reserve.

    Good evening, you have translated "Passeggiata" as "casual stroll". But if you want to refer to the path instead, perhaps it is better to say "promenade". Very interesting is the famous "Passeggiata a mare" of Nervi, easily reachable from the Genova Nervi railway station, located about 2 km from the Bogliasco railway station (stop).

    Hello! Thank you for such a wonderful guide!❤ I need your advise! We've chosen the first destination, it's Bogliasco. But there is a question, what's the second. I can't decide, Sestri Levante or Lerici. What World you prefer. It's need to mention , we're going there this August.
    Thank you in advance!

    • @happygoluckytravel
      @happygoluckytravel  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for watching! How lucky that you're headed to Liguria! August is the busiest time of the year on the Italian Riviera, so between the two we suggest Lerici, as the beach is bigger. However, you should choose accommodations that provide a ZTL zone pass, parking, and a beach chair/umbrella spot. In August, you'll find it really difficult to find a place on the public beach and most beach clubs are full with season-pass holders, unfortunately.

    • @Гарлик-у9и
      @Гарлик-у9и 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@happygoluckytravel I appreciate your answer. I know about crowed beaches. And I have no idea how to avoid it. I've never been there before. Probably you know places in Italy or France where it will be possible? Right now I just have tickets to Milan and back home.

    • @happygoluckytravel
      @happygoluckytravel  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In August, the Italian and French coasts and lakes are full of visitors, so its a fabulous time for a vibrant atmosphere but you do have to share with everyone. The crowds do make it difficult to find a beach chair, a restaurant, a parking place, and so on. So, the more you can reserve those things in advance, the less stress. Also, you can shift "time zone," and get up super early, go to the public beach until it gets too crowded, always get on the first ferry, go to lunch and dinner as first guests when the restaurants open. Hope that helps. You're going to an absolutely beautiful destination!

    • @Luigi-uj5ml
      @Luigi-uj5ml ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@happygoluckytravel Exact! In Italy, the barriers at railway level crossings are closed a long time in advance because the level crossings are protected on the railway side by automatic blocking signals (Automatic blocking with codified currents, American system), as in the case of Bogliasco and Pontetto, or by specific signals for level crossings along single track lines. In the past there were also level crossings that were closed on time (theoretical time) even if the train was late. In France, however, they are not protected by signals on the railway side and are controlled by the train about 30 seconds in advance. In Italy there are some automatic level crossings of American design (Westinghouse), but they are quite rare. Translated by Google translator. I'm not sure if Google uses official railroad terms

      We are aiming for may/june next year. We would like to start with the camino de santiago where we’ll have 1-2 months thinking/reflecting on our next life.
      We are in Montreal. We’re planning to travel 2-3 times/year, +-3 months at a time, deep diving into some regions in Europe and South America (We already lived 12 years in Asia).
      Year round travel is on our mind too, but having a home (real estate) somewhere is, for us, comforting. So still in thinking mode… hoping the camino will clear this out…
