From the start, I was really rooting for Taguig however, Beatrice from Cebu City performed so extraordinarily. Her swimsuit performance looked so regal, polish and her facial expressions will really catch your attention. You really can feel her presence. Her evening gown too was breath-taking as she walks like the most queenly out there in my opinion. And then when she answered the question being given to her, she didn't even flinch sharing her thoughts. Beatrice showed class under pressure, substance with composure and i think that's what makes her win the crown. She really deserves the miss universe crown!

I have to say, you were right to throw a fit about Manila's Jasmine Umali not being included in the top 10. She IS stunning!! My bet is Cebu City from the start, but Manila is beautiful!! She and Aklan deserved a spot in the top 10.

Even though the sovereign is betting on Katrina, you can see that she's so happy for Cebu City. I love the unbiased reaction 💛🔥. I think Bea really slayed the prelims and finals..
I also had the same reaction when Manila wasnt called lmao. She has one of the best swimsuit and evening gown walks along side Cebu City, Taguig, Pangasinan, and Cavite.

You're indeed a credible pageant enthusiast Sovereign. You're right, Manila deserved the spot over Parañaque and Mandaluyong. My opinion however about the new queen Beatrice of Cebu City is that she really exudes confidence and fierceness. She's breaking barriers. I mean she has a tattoo and a girlfriend, and these things about her just makes her more interesting.
While the tattoo and her being open about her sexuality and relationship definitely make her more interesting than the typical beauty queen, she cannot rely on uniqueness alone to set her apart. She can obviously speak well, so I hope she really focuses on personality development. Right now, she comes across as very sincere and humble, but also quite flat and too timid at times when she expresses herself. Iris, who is also an introvert, wasn't the best communicator, but managed to be engaging every time she spoke and interacted with people. A beauty queen should be able to relate to everyone - not just the youth and the LGBTQIA+ community, and so being more accessible and sociable is key, so she has work to do in that department. But it's clear that she is a disciplined and determined woman, so I have faith that she will do her best with the little time that she has left for preparation to address whatever she lacks or needs to improve.
Without a doubt Manila did deserve a spot! 😩 Bea also owned the night on that stage 🙂
I think Cebu City was the silent killer. Looking back to her prelims and finals performances, I see why and how she won. I think she trained well to the point of perfecting her walk and poses to the miss universe standards. She had a plan which she really executed very well. Deserved!
I also was surprised Manila was not in the top 10. She was very mesmerizing. Her smile captivating. Let's just say, it was not her time yet. Hope tp see her in the future edition of MUP.

I think you missed Cebu City's top 10 interview. Her LGBT q&a was everything and it was very personal. If she moves on and wins Miss Universe she can be the first openly gay winner and that's absolutely so relevant today

One thing I _really_ like about the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Grand Finale Coronation night was not only the great and superb pacing of the show, but the placement of the top 5, it felt so fair! 😍🙌🏾🇵🇭👑💎👏🏾✨ Although I would’ve liked to see Miss Laguna 2021 Leren Mae Bautista in the top 5 as well, it’s alright, I’m still proud of her regardless. 🥺🌟👌🏾

The question for Taguig was what is the best quality a MUPh must possess, but instead she answered 2 qualities a MU must have. She also trailed off and did not finish as strong as Cebu City did.

I was late watching the show, it was already top 5 when I watched, and IMMEDIATELY my eyes were drawn to Cebu City. Taguig was my sure and safe winner, but for some reason that night Beatrice had this aura it got me cheering for her! She deserves it

Taguig repeatedly saying her answer for 3 times. Should have ended it right away. Judges might have seen it as unsure. Its a neck to neck battle though. Either way they're great
This! I'm actually quite surprised that so many people were impressed with her answer. Repeating the answer showed that she was uncertain how to end her statement. That final part, it even seemed like she forgot the other quality aside from compassion! I was trying to read her lips on the inaudible part and it did not look like she said relatability or anything close to it. It seemed like she said a 2 two syllable word instead. I felt awkward listening to the rest of it after she repeated the same qualities twice, and she was my #1 going into this competition!
Yeah noong una napa wow at galing na galingvako dahil sa confidence at conviction delivering her answer then when I read the trascript ayun na na notice ko nga medyo mapalabok sa yung answer pero iisa lang naman ang ibig sabihin and that trail of in the end kinda dissapointing. Sa totoo lang wala sa mga girls ngayon na ang answer kasi level impact ng "the president we hever had" at " confidently beautiful with a heart" nina Rabiya at Pia.

The star of Cebu City was shining the brightest that night. I reviewed the pageant many times, and I understand the victory of Beatrice. I do agree about your disappointment towards Manila's exclusion from the top 10. Jasmine should have advanced!

I really took time to understand and as possible I would review the pageants without overflowing emotions. So here I am, now I understand why Cebu City won the crown, she’s much more details than the other girls even though I love taguig, Miss Bea has a beautiful story to tell. Now that the Miss U fever is starting, I can see her improvements and her communication skill is also improving.
They said that Bea’s presence on a live show is just as strong as the kick of the horse! Maybe that’s explains why the panel of judges picked her. And we can’t argue about it though!

To be honest after this pageant... I became a believer of Masbate and I believe that she will join again and surely will win, accepting the fact that she has a lot of things to work out and working hard for it was just really amazing❤️

Manila got into an accident when diving and medic suspected a possible slip disc. Kudos to her for delivering that performance despite a sever back pain. She posted this in Instagram and other contestants commending her for pulling off that swim and gown performance.
We have the same sentiment… i was so sad when Manila didn’t make it to top 10. I’d rather have her over Albay or Parañaque or Mandaluyong.

I really enjoy watching her reacting to MUPH, and overwhelmed me with the same thoughts I had in my head. She's like translating my soul on how should my physical being react to. haha. I think cebu city grace, calmness and story as a part of LGBT can be a game changer and the org saw that. Tho taguig was also my early fave i never had the hard time loving bea after her crowning moment

It is so funny how Steffi was interviewed with a question about being undefeated while Bea is behind her. (Bea won a 2012 contest with Steffi being the first runner up.)

Not to me. She was just Ok. So many girls were better than she was in SS, EG, the Top 10 interview. And both Taguig & VVV were better in the final Q&A than Cebu City.

I was actually surprised that you and others were impressed with Taguig's final answer. She was actually my #1 going into this, especially since she has shown the most consistency out of all the women. However, in the final question, I felt that she was trying to find words to close out her statement, but she was unable to do so. You can tell because she repeated her answer 2 times!!

Take out the word "So" in the second part and it looks like 2 different answers by two different women! It was very clear the first time I heard. I felt awkward listening to it, instantly thinking that she messed up. There's nothing wrong with having more than 1 reason, but she didn't connect those thoughts properly. She could have said "In addition" or "Furthermore". I know this turned into an English lesson, but it also didn't help with the feeling the answer gives. It seemed uncertain, didn't have the same confidence and professionalism that I was expecting from her.
And then to close it off, she said "So there you go, compassion, and of course [inaudible]." She repeated it a third time! Not only that, but it seems like she even forgot to say relatability, I'm trying to read her lips at the inaudible part and it seems like she said a 2 syllable word that didn't look anything like being relatable or relatability.
I was definitely not surprised that Cebu City won. Her final answer was great, and she also stepped up in the rest of the competition with swimsuit and evening gown. She stood out the whole time!

There was a statement released by one of the judges. Apparently there were two candidates who went out to have their make-up done which is strictly not allowed by the organization. Although the judge didn’t revealed their names so I am thinking that maybe Manila was one of them. BTW I love your reaction! Taguig was clearly a front-runner of the competition, but I just loved how calm, confident and composed Cebu City is. And that’s what made her win! ❤️

Since I haven't seen this comment about Manila yet, I'll just drop this here. Jasmine (Miss Manila) shared on Instagram the following day after finals that she got into some accident (a few days before the finals) during an open-water trip in Bohol (the host province for the finals). She said she would have to confirm if she had a slip disc once she gets back to Manila, but she also shared that her back was hurting a lot even during the rehearsals. She even mentioned that she had to conserve her energy during the dress rehearsals.
If I understood things correctly, I think like she was in literal pain when she was performing on stage (although I did not see this during the telecast tbh). A friend of mine told me that something felt a bit off with Jasmine's aura since it was relatively more subdued compared to her prelims performance. My theory though is that the pain might had translated to her overall aura during finals, and the judges saw that which could have affected her scoring.
Call it mental gymnastics, but if I were a judge, I woulddn't let it be too much of a factor just to take her out and let some other girls who I think was not on par with Jasmine. I might score her lower, but not low enough to take her out of Top 10.

Now, historically, the girl who wins at least one of the major awards--long gown and swimsuit--will typically win the crown. Catriona won both long gown and swimsuit, so of course, won the crown. Gazini won long gown and went on to win MUP. Rabiya won swimsuit and was last year's queen. Bea won BOTH swimsuit and long gown, that alone should've made it obvious to everyone who will win the crown, and people still doubted her performance????

Netizens didn't question Catriona at all sa pagiging hakot awardee nya. Nung si Catriona ang winner ng Binibining Pilipinas walang nangbash sa kanya kasi super galing nya at confident ang Pilipino na makukuha nya ang MU. Steffi was my sentimental favor from the beginning. Seeing her fail steeply in the final question was such a hard moment for me, however, I prepared myself for that since I still kept my opinion that she didn't really address every question she received in each interview session.
I believe the judges had the same prototype to choose the winner like last year, whoever delivered the best answer won the crown, and Beatrice nailed it. It is sad for Katrina as it's her last pageant, and for Steffi since I trust that she has the most Universe look in Top 5. So the result for Top 5 is totally justified for me.
For Beatrice, the only thing I want her to improve is to have more diversified expressions on stage and make her performance signature, I still feel something missing in her stage performance. But no doubt for her speaking eloquence, can easily beat out the majority of girls.
P/s: I laughed and cried inside whenever you mention Manila...So difficult to accept that fact....

The pageant experience is never complete without your reactions, Davonna! Same sentiments with you, I was hoping for Katrina to win the crown and indeed that evening gown did nothing for her. She looked dry standing in the top 5 but her performance made up for the lack of impact of the gown. Although, Cebu City's face really shut them down. There was something about her during the finals that I think made her won the title. I'm still happy with the outcome though, but heartbroken for Katrina.
I was also rooting for Katrina, she's a total package. But this year's pageant is way way better than last year's. Sobrang gagaling talaga ng mga contestants ngayon! Well done ladies, lahat kayo winner!!!
