I remember my first wild shiny in Pokémon crystal. It was an Onyx and 10y old me was not ready for this lol I ended up using my masterball on it

Hey man, is there any specific tips you have for getting a shiny like this? Or is it just a matter of repel in an area to get a constant Pokémon you want in the wild to show??? Thanks, I'm trying shiny hunting on my Gameboy advance for the first time in crystal :)
Best of luck! Yeah you can repel for a specific target (repel trick) or you can go to a route just do random encounter (no repel). Just patience lol, these games are 1/8192 chance of finding a shiny. They’re a bunch of good mons/sprites in Crystal so good luck!

It’s in Rock Tunnel (same room that I’m in) and yea just get a Pokémon at level 16 in front of your party with the held item “Smoke Ball”, use a max repel, and the encounters are 100% Onix! GL👍🏻
