I was one of healers for that group. The problem that you didn't mention--which was really important--is that some of macros are actually broken/don't work listed in the big word documents floating around. The other problem is that there are about 2-3 macro sets floating out there, and PF was hardcore about using some unoptimized macros (ones without the new abilities that do more damage). So, the macro-skip would be easier if everyone had the same info and the macros were fixed and updated. Also, the new pots and food increase damage a lot. you really only need about 6 good (crit-based) macros to go off to kill now. so, it should be easier, but lots of non-raiders do BLU content.
20:42 I agree completely that the macro is a bigger crutch that wipes too many parties and this shows. I did the same thing where I just hit my rotation correctly and lined my sting with everyone else using the macro. Especially if there is an issue with someone's macro "Not working" or having bad timing.
I agree completely with the gavel part. I pleaded with my group (which was a half pf/half static sort of thing) to just do gavel normally because all you would need at that point is one good attempt and even if it was a fluke, it would be a clear, but it turned into 6 hours of madness. The problem with the macro (at least the old macro) is that you can't guarantee that everybody will line up due to the latency, but on top of that you need a few people to crit on the final sting or you just get really close.
The best small creator returns \o/ Can confirm that Gavel isn’t truly that bad, my static has A8S as the last hurdle and we’ve seen past Gavel at least twice, then got diddled by the J Kick afterwards But with more study about what happens after Gavel and more reps, I think we might have it on Saturday. Good video as always, congrats again on the Morbol!
23:17 It depends on the person, I found tanking General’s Might to be fairly easy (I’m the tank for my group, I was forged in the Flare Breaths and Flattens), Might is fairly easy to C-Gate the first Swing and to hardcast DB once he returns to idle from spinning the hands. I went in fairly confident about my ability to hold Might for forever, so our group elected to kill Time first because of the higher skill ceiling on Time’s pattern.
I just started morbol hunt last weekend and got t5 and a4s done. I got a 3/8 premade with another helper that’s done it before if our group needs a fill. T5 was more waiting on fill then actually playing - I think we killed it the first time someone didn’t accidentally pull early cuz of the insane aggro range. A4s took about an hour and a half and was real real fun. Planning on t9 this weekend 🥳👍
In case you remember the rando that saw your p12 pf up and sent you a tell wishing you luck, that was me :D grats on the achievements you're a real one
My group did gavel skip but without the the shitty macros being posted. What we did instead was we had a countdown timer macro for when to moonflute and when to sting so we didn't lose out on damage and we stung around the same time.
the problem with the gavel skip macro before was actually more because the off-guard macro's for regulators were not optimized or aligned correctly + parties running 2 healer mimicries (you only need 1 healer, every major raidwide damage mechanic has enough time for angel's snack's cooldown to wear off, or can be white wind clipped), i've helped multiple parties clear a8s both with and without skip and fact of the matter is. if someone can't do gavel skip correctly, they likely can't do gavel correctly either, in which case causes most people to just opt for the skip since its easier.
If people can’t do the gavel skip then chances are they can’t do gavel (aka a bunch of movement)? That makes absolutely no sense. I know opinions are like assholes and everyone has one but the gavel skip in PF is borderline insanity and there are literally no PF groups that say “A8s please know gavel mechanic”.
@@kpeezyrepda401 i’m a regular blu pf player, i’ve helped several groups perform gavel skip. the groups that have tried to learn gavel are often players who couldn’t do gavel skip correctly aka groups who can’t coordinate and learn gavel at all. gavel skip is extremely easy to pull off with macros as long as you re-align the off-guard macro and optimize the regulator macro to swap to both ends instead of nightbloom. it’s literally as simple as 8 people pressing a button at the same time, potting, then pressing a 2nd button. if done correctly with pots & timing you can clear with like 5 stings if people crit, and almost always clear with 8 stings unless you’re abysmally unlucky.
As someone who recently burnt out on savage raiding, progging extremes and the morbol fights on BLU with a more casual static has been such a fun and refreshing change of pace. We've just barely started on the Omega raids and it'll be interesting to see how BLU interacts with the more 'modern' design of savage raiding as we know it today. From what I'm told, final sting gets less and less powerful the further into these fights you go. You also have tougher dps checks and become more reliant on revenge blast (where you purposely keep everyone's health low so you can dish out more damage). You also run into a lot more role-based mechanics where you have to set up priority systems since they're random for BLU. I'm kinda nervous but still excited to prog these fights!
BLU in omega is fairly easy outside of O12s honestly. Most omega fight are very doable on BLU too with the exception of o3s (mostly because of the tethers) and maybe o11s (never done this one on blu)
you saying that the PF is somewhat active for BLU mages is great, but also incredebly sad too as you're on Aether and raiding there is the ONLY active pf of ALL NA servers which is insane Primal PF, used to be real active, but is now completly DEAD since DC travel... anyway, random rant out of the way I havent done BLU raiding, so cant say anything too wow. But I have ran Eden savage on content and they are harsh. BLU mages can do them, but seeing the world first E12S clear I was gasping at everything. Second phase E12s is quite hard and seeing the blue mages pull it was intense. Mostly since the teams were playing safe so they were reaching the Enrage points as if were on content. Clearing those first lv80 right now is probably the hardest thing it can offer. The coils and Alexander "Skipping pretty much all late/hard mechs" seems it'll be impossible on lv80 content. and if any BLUe mages are CRAZY enough to try E10s (since its completly optionnal) I wonder if diamondback can even be enough for the quadruple vuln stacks tank busters .🤔🤔🤔🤔
I think I remember hearing the pre-gavel-macro strat was actually just "DPS race him before Final Judgment finishes". Not actually aiming to complete Gavel successfully (because it's eight different tasks randomly assigned for eight different people that can be screwed up Very Easily), but actually just killing him before that mechanic resolves, because BLU DPS is high enough that's an option.
This would definitely work in coordinated groups but final sting would still need to be done in sync to not cause a wipe. Maybe a macro that simply did a final sting countdown would be more effective.
BJ gavel skip macro is poopy butt ass dogshit, but gavel is a 6/10 mechanic turned into a 9/10 because of Blu Mage Jank. normally its pretty easy to resolve with roles (each roll can only get 1 or 2 different jobs during gavel) but because everyone's a DPS you instead have to have everyone learn every role and have certain spells to make it possible. that and having tight DPS pacing during the intermission, while fun, does make it a total pain in the ass to get. i'm just glad my static did it normally like sane people instead of stupidly with the macro. also, you can bad breath one of the big orbs to give it a heavy and stagger the explosions to be doable without DB or mighty guard.

I agree with everything you said! Thank you soo much!! I have a couple of friends that want to get the morbol mount. This was very helpful!
My guy please consider streaming, fucking love your vibe and content! Thanks for the video!
Agreed!

It’s cool that BLU raiding got you to do these Alexander fights!

Another based video from the Purple man. Love the content, keep up the great work bro.

Gavel macro seems like the monkey’s paw senerio of wishing people used macros in pf in na
One day, I’ll get back to attempting the final two savages. Project Hentai, here I come!
passed on my stone vigil queue for this
it's stone virgil
you saying that the PF is somewhat active for BLU mages is great, but also incredebly sad too
