I personally love A12S the most, because my WoL is named Alexander. So it becomes Alexander fighting Alexander inside Alexander, and then Alexander summons Alexander to kill Alexander before time gates open up so Alexander can go back in time to save Alexander from Alexander.
I see what you did there at A11S, you clever boy! "I was kinda going FORWARD AND BACK" I see you, MrHappy! I'm now going to put on my Alexander gear and ride off on my Cruise Chaser.
Brute justice to this day is the best designed fight in my opinion. It has trios, a clear progression, cool visuals, the 3stooges (actually it's 4 robots, but whos counting) and it just overall keeps you engaged and makes you enjoy the dance
I'm glad you showed the A8S POV with blue mage. A8S alone is already a very fun fight, how do we make it even more fun? Let's do it on BLU of course! Truly one of the best encounters in the entire game
I'm doing Alexander mil no echo blind with some guys right now. We've done everything up to A8S and we're on the Gavel phase. The fights are really fun. If I had to choose favourites from the ones I've done/seen they'll probably be A6S and A8S. I can't wait for A11 and A12 and also I really want to try Ultimate Alexander. Awesome work with the anniversary videos. Keep it up.
Great tier list! I'd probably only switch around a few. I think A12 would probably be my number 1 with A8 and then A11 to follow. All amazing. I think just the thematic theme of A12 makes it top for me. That fight blew my mind when you understood what was going on and the Savage mechanics were a blast.
creator was my first tier. i really enjoyed the chaos of random skips. i really learned the fights as fights and not as a role based timeline. still fell into massive trap holes of "advice" and "meta" i'm very glad i learned not to listen to other people's advice.
Quick note about A7S, the alarum jail (melee jail) was actually optimal to have your warrior do it instead. Deliverance plus fell cleaves = enough burst to kill it
a bit late to the party but… who here remembers a Bug in A9S where Eos’ Whispering Dawn counted as “enemy damage” and made people drop the Coils? 😆 interesting first week
I fekkin loved pepsiman, i got picked up by a static that "broke" and i changed from pld to drk for the purpose of getting to play with them. Big change, big challenge. I had an amazing time, and we cleared it.
Did Brute Justice for the first time, blind, synced (no min ilvl) this past winter with a static. It was a gauntlet. Incredibly satisfying but, boy, tough times to overcome and remember all the phases... we did beat the final fire wave starting with all dps and a healer down... I think we would not have made it at min ilvl.
Since some of the footage in the vid is from his BLU run, I highly, highly recommend people interested in that fight go do it as a full BLU team. One of my most enjoyable progs in the game.
Everytime someone says HW was so great... I remember this raid tiers and think... "They dont know what their talking about, probably they were mid way ARR during HW live time". I probably comment this every vídeo about HW but yeah, it gave me ptsd, and I quit raiding because of it.
Thinking on A4 and A9 in particular, I think there's also an extra subconscious element adding to the Boring feeling. You just don't see the top half of the boss most of the time. It's a torso+arm or some pistons. I think that just sabotages those bosses design wise and adds to the Boring feeling. Brute Justice is quite a large mecha, Oppressor too, but they are smaller in addition to the mobility. You can SEE the entire boss. I don't think the fight would feel THAT much less boring of Manipulator and... Scrappy McScrapperton were visible in their entirety, but a little bit at least.
Floor 1 savage was goated as a training fight. It has everything you need to make you work towards being a good raider. Everyone has a responsibility, and when it was relevant, tanks needed to plan their cd spread. Dps had objectives, healing prey damage and oldschool auto cleaves: before changes to the core fundamentals of the game? Such a good, such an interesting, first fight.
a8s is the best encounter in mmo history imo and ive played a lot of mmos. it's too bad raid design in xiv never came close to that standard ever since outside of ultimates.
Living liquid savage mine now feels like an ex, i expected to be in there for a while based off the rep, but we cleared it in 1 session. I must say the middle tier of alex savagr has been the MOST fun ive had raiding.
31:24 I was running A3S MiNe in pf this past week and those damn tethers are still just as unresponsive. One pull I jiggled between the tether 3 separate times without picking it up.
I would have to disagree on the stationary boss complaints. Most bosses in EW are pretty much stationary as the hitbox is so huge that you can almost hit it from the wall and the boss recenters itself constantly. I think the only boss I ever worried about positioning on was P4S door boss and P3S for the first devouring flame.
Well yes. And many people who has raided before EW are complaining that the bosses are too stationary in EW. Eden was already pretty stationary compared to Omega, but pandemonium really takes the cake.
when i was a free trial player, i tried a4s min ilevel. the raidwide just does so much damage I was playing sch and i fey whispered, adlo deployment tactics, iullumination and Sacred soil and together with the other healer We could not survive that raidwide.
I imagine during current content it was good but the first half of A6S was just so miserable to prog through on MINE blind these days for me. Half of the time you have to just stop dps and wait for mechanics to finish so you dont get one shot by them like on the first mob if you kill it before the balls are resolved bye bye. You have to stop dps on one of the robots so the pushback and hight dont happen on the same time etc and just having to sit there and do nothing as you wait for those mechanics was so boring before getting to the good parts like when brute justice splits or the last phases, and every time youd wipe you had to go through that shitty first half again. Doesnt help theres like 2 jobs which have engaging rotations at level 60 now. If it had a checkpoint it probably would have been a favourite for me but atm it sits there on the bottom with manipulator sadly. But thats just my experience as someone who progged it blind on mine way later than when it was current so. Hopefully when I get around to doing it on blue mage itll be better.
First T4 at the bottom and now A2 Is Mr. Haps the one who went to Yoshi P and told him to never do ad fights ever again? I miss them ;-; bring them back
A3S will always be the bottom of the barrel raid for me. It cost me a static, cost me some people i considered friends, and ruined raiding in FFXIV for nearly the entire Heavensward Expansion. To the point I played Everquest TLR server more during this time, then I did FFXIV. Left a very bad taste in my mouth. The fact if someone died within the first minute meant you missed a dps check just sucked.
Left the game in 2.2 and came back in 3.2 and it was so funny hearing the complaints of raiding from a newb. It's like hearing the adults complain from the adult table whike you're still at the kids table. When I got caught up, Creator had just come out and I was like "oh is this what they were complaining about? This isn't bad in normal mode" lmao

Hey Mr happy, if you have contacts at Magic spoon can you tell them that people outside US Canada and UK would love to buy it but cannot? Thanks xD
The way you so nonchalantly dropped "you were going forward and back" between a11s and the other fight I screamed 🤣
There's no way that was unintentional, right?? lmao
I personally love A12S the most, because my WoL is named Alexander. So it becomes Alexander fighting Alexander inside Alexander, and then Alexander summons Alexander to kill Alexander before time gates open up so Alexander can go back in time to save Alexander from Alexander.
that's amazing
Ah, the raid series that nearly killed raiding.
I see what you did there at A11S, you clever boy!
"I was kinda going FORWARD AND BACK" I see you, MrHappy! I'm now going to put on my Alexander gear and ride off on my Cruise Chaser.
26:50 the entropy is strong with this one... exponentially
"I was kinda going forward and back between this..."
Smooth
Brute justice to this day is the best designed fight in my opinion.

Was able to go do Brute Justice as blue mages in 2021 and I really truly believe it's the all time best encounter in the game
26:49 I saw what you did there
I had to check the comments when i heard that, and yup, you got it
*chefs kiss*
As someone who agrees with you regarding the sugar content of cereal, Magic Spoon looks interesting! Good sponsor!
Amazing video! A8s is my most favorite savage in the game and this video brought back so many memories!
A8S is amazing, the music, the references to super sentai/power rangers mechas, the mechanics AAAAAAAAAA I LOVE IT
I'm glad you showed the A8S POV with blue mage. A8S alone is already a very fun fight, how do we make it even more fun? Let's do it on BLU of course! Truly one of the best encounters in the entire game
' i was going forward and back between this-' you aint fuckin slick i see that shit

Awesome work with the anniversary videos. Keep it up.
Doing A3s min ilvl while obviously nerfed is still one of my favorite things I've done in this game. Such a fun fight.
"I was kind of going forward and back between this and A12S"
I paused the video to boo at this lmao.
26:49 love this
"I was kinda going forward and back between this(a11) and a12..."
I see what you did there haps
I say this every time Brute Justice is brought up but it and the robots that make it up are named after the 1985 Transformer Combaticons.
As someone who hasn't done any Savage raiding, even I knew that the bottom two would be those. Maybe not in that order, but certainly those two.
Great tier list! I'd probably only switch around a few. I think A12 would probably be my number 1 with A8 and then A11 to follow. All amazing. 26:49 Idk if that was an intentional pun or not, but I still love it lol

Videos like this just make me want Unreal Savage more and more.

Shame, you missed the best raid tiers the game ever had
gordias was the worst raid tier ever and midas was the best raid tier ever.
16:50 fwiw, minor correction, but in a5s it was two fausts leading into one big one (hummelfaust).
26:49 don't think you're gonna just breeze past that without us noticing.
I got downvoted to hell on reddit when I referred to Faust as a door boss. VINDICATION!!!
Thinking on A4 and A9 in particular, I think there's also an extra subconscious element adding to the Boring feeling.

26:49 I see what you did there.nice song reference.
Seeking the peace for a reason
I see what you did there for #3... "I kept going forward and back"
I read the title and just felt stressed 😂oh no the PTSD
That "sorry mom" is so cute.
I like a few of the Alexander fights, just not a fan of the goofy goblins theme. A6S, A8S, A10S, A11S, and A12S were all pretty good.
I would have been disappointed if Brute Justice wasn't ranked where you ranked it. It is by far one of the best encounters in XIV.
a8s is the best encounter in mmo history imo and ive played a lot of mmos. it's too bad raid design in xiv never came close to that standard ever since outside of ultimates.

Did you just.... unintentionally make a "Forward and Back" pun on A11S? lol
Would there be enough time to play through ARR to Endwalker before 16 comes out?😁
I need a group to learn these fights :(

"Back in ma day we had to clear trash packs to get to the boss", good old days.

I was playing sch and i fey whispered, adlo deployment tactics, iullumination and Sacred soil and together with the other healer We could not survive that raidwide.
Yeah think the stat squish had something to do with it but we deadass had to use vitality pots to survive that💀

You went “forward and back,” you say…
First T4 at the bottom and now A2
Is Mr. Haps the one who went to Yoshi P and told him to never do ad fights ever again? I miss them ;-; bring them back
Would you play Diablo 4 Beta?
You we're forward and back on it huh?
Midas, to this day, is the best raid tier in my opinion.
Hell yea a fun time with laughs
That was a weird sponsorship ad.
Video starts at 2:58

if pepsiman is not first, flying boat on 2nd ill riot
DOPE
26:50 I see what you did there. ^.^

Huh pepsiman was nerfed?, i remember that it took something like 7 hours for Asmongold to kill that thing
HEAVILY nerfed. Digititis got ruined to the point that it wasn't even a mechanic, just a minor inconvenience
Doesn't NISI still strike fear into those who do TEA?
yes.
TEA Nisi is way easier to handle than A4S Nisi was
@@manbearpigsereal Which is funny cuz I often hear the same about Titan ex and UWU Titan.
26:49
I see what you did there
Lamebrix dice iykyk 🥴🥴🥴
Combaticons win!
26:48 Really? Not even going to acknowledge the pun?
:D
