The season-long battle with Hamilton to win that title will probably be the best thing that'll ever happen to Max. I doubt he'll ever face a tougher competition than that, a 7 time champion in a car that's dominated F1 for nearly a decade, and coming out on top. Anything that comes his way will either be as difficult or easier, the pressure he'll have will never be as immense as it was then, so long as he doesn't get complacent from now... the world's his oyster.

True. But Mercedes have always the potential to create a monster car in the next few years giving Russell and Hamilton if he still has it to compete for a title in a faster car than the RedBull.

With that defense George has shown in Spain, and with the overall performance he's shown during the past few years, I say Max haven't seen shit yet. Lewis was pretty has been pretty conservative when it comes to wheel to wheel racing, and he did make a couple mistakes last year. George on the other hand looks pretty consistent and is as aggressive as one can be (with getting over the line, for now at least). I guess we'll never know until it happens but this is just my take on it.

@@mo215300 Agreed wholeheartedly! People like to think it's "only" the car or "only" the driver or "only" the team, but in reality it's everything at once. More often than not WDC winners whether it be Max, Hamilton, Rosberg, Seb, Kimi, Alonso, Schumacher, etc had the whole package. If one or more of those criteria isn't good then their chances of winning are really low. So yes, these drivers wouldn't win without the top cars, and these top cars wouldn't win without the drivers. Can't discredit any factor honestly.
Anyways, I hope Ferrari and Mercedes both get better! I wanna see RB win, but I wanna see an interesting title fight even more! I wouldn't mind RB losing if the top drivers fought tooth and nail for the win 💪🏻

I am surprised we didn't get a Katy-FIA-rant about this:
I think this sunday we were quite close to a potentially fatal incident. After tsunoda crashed sainz used the opportunity to pit, and since the pitlane exit is not speed limited under sc-rules sainz was pushing on the pit exit (as any driver would). As a consequence he arrived fairly quickly on the scene of tsunodas car in the wall, where marshals were currently trying to recover the car. If sainz had also gone of (which could have been likely if there would have been oil on the track, which could have been a cause for tsunodas crash) he would have crashed into the marshals on tsunodas car which as a result could have caused major injuries to the marshals. In my opinion (admittedly with the advantage of hindsight) the pitlane entry should have been closed after tsunoda crashed. Even if he had gotten out of the barriers with the car intact the rejoin could have been spicy.

regarding vettel doing the race on "used" tyres at around 10:30 ,this is something AM/RP/FI have always done. They take a set of tyres, srcub them by doing some burnouts or a few out laps and inlaps and put the blankets back on. The theory is that doing this makes the tyres become harder and more durable therefore giving them more tyre life. Even if its just a lap or 2, it still is a "used tyre" so thats why they show up as used tyres even if they only did 2 laps tops.

As a Hamilton fan I was massively impressed with Max this weekend.
He withstood unbelievable pressure for 20 Laps of racing not even giving Sainz a look in. It was an incredible drive and I have to say he is showing all the signs of being a future great.
I don’t think he’ll ever get 7 titles but I think a potential 4 or 5 is definitely do-able considering how young he still is.
It pains me to see him so much better than the rest with Lewis not in a race winning car. I think if Lewis had that Ferrari car the gap between first and second would be less, of course Charles has been unlucky but Hamilton would have never crashed at Imola and he would have finished on the podium in Canada.
Lewis and Max are by far the 2 best drivers on the grid right now, all we need is Lewis back in a race winning car and the old Lewis will be back. Lewis has been unlucky this season although George has been better, Lewis in a race winning car is a different breed!

I think Max will beat Lewis to 8 WDCs. I can't see Lewis beating George, especially from 2023 onward. No other top team will have him as a WDC contender. Max is starting out a new era as the best driver in the best team, he's he could very well get at least 3 from that alone, and he'll only be around 27 by then. RB determines it in the end.
The only way I could see Lewis win another WDC is if he moves to Alfa/Williams and gives the team the guidance they need to jump back to the top. And that would easily be the most deserved and incredible WDC in his pocket. But having to get through Max, George, Charles, Lando, Albon (potentially), it's such a big uphill battle.

Obviously because any opportunities for other teams to catch up is restricted by regulations, hence this season is rather boring. It’s more about how can fix porpoising to be faster, not Red Bull faster just faster. Any chances diminished to cover ground, developments on the car restricted.
What fun is that? If you’re a f1 dan rather than a Max fan, it’s getting boring already, the drivers championship is already settled before the mid season interval!

Sure Max seems to be running away with it this season but thats not thanks to the car being that much better.
Ferrari and RB are very equally matched but the reliability issues for Ferrari some bad calls and Sainz finding every gravel trap on the calender have left them way behind for now in the constructors.
But this is closer than any team ever got in the turbo hybrid era compared to Mercedes barred last year where Red Bull was about equally matched to Mercedes aswell.

      @stephenwouw8624 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@Minifliek ok for starters it’s not even close to 90% 1-2’s for Mercedes that percentage dropped over the years.
Then you rightfully points out that the cars are much closer (Ferrari and RBR) that’s true.
But I see here a replay of 2017 2018. Ferrari was close or better in those seasons. Strong pairing of Vettel and Raikonnen. However whether it’s pressure or bad management, the mistakes took over and being ahead in points in the beginning ended up in a 80 point margin in favour of Hamilton.
But my question to you is, most of us condemn in a way the domination of Mercedes, this year it turns out that RBR is taking over the throne. With incredible domination. The drivers title is already in Verstappens pocket and that’s well before the mid season interval!
Do you think this is a good development? Don’t you think that the regulations has barred teams from the get go to get a proper car on the grid?
Don’t you think it was luck that Adrian Newey is right this time whilst failing the last 7 years?
So, do we have to suck up for another few years of domination of one team?
After all the FIA changed everything to facilitate closer racing and create more competitiveness.
