I'd still say the PS2 era was the golden age of video games (before the normalization of DLCs, releasing incomplete games, and games running at below 60 fps that the PS3 era interface introduced). But the 16-era would be a close second.
Awesome is an understatement....it was the golden age of gaming.. I can still pickup and play any of the top 10 in this list and have a blast...You cant say that about the n64 era lol those games did not age well.
I was born in 2002, but I didn't have internet in my house until 2014, so I played those SNES emulators that contained 100 games, I think my childhood was similar to those born in the 90s
Christmas morning 1992 was one of the most AMAZING in my life. Getting the SUPER NINTENDO with the pack in Super Mario World AND A Link to the Past. Epic. I had no idea SNES had NHL 94' or Jungle Strike. But we absolutely loved them on SEGA. I was blessed to have both eventually, the next year getting the SEGA Fighting System with Streets of Rage 2. And my family wasn't rich. Well I suppose we were in a sense, someone else always has less.
I love playing through the Soulblazer rom. It has a fun simplicity. I often get it confused with the Soul Blazer Illusion of Gaia Terranigma trilogy opposed to the Secret of Mana/Evermore branch.
I really like the layout. Seeing the box on the side really helps my weak eyes. Rock n' Roll Racing should be a lot higher than #72. It should have been in the top 50.
I bought my SNES on day one with money i saved by not buying lunch at school for almost the entire previous school year. When I tell you i instantly became the most popular kid in 8th grade. 😂😂😂😂 Those were the days man. Now at age 45 I'm still an active gamer but SNES still has the best console launch titles I've ever seen. The games I remember loving most around release time were: Super Castlevania 4 Super Tennis Super Mario World Super Contra Pilotwings Zelda: ALTTP Super Ghosts and Goblins Super Punch Out Final Fantasy 3 F Zero Final Fight Actraiser
I remember the first time I seen final fight in an arcade. It was a far cry from the other games I played from 1980 and up. Action movies were in full swing, that arcade box took so many quarters from me 😂 on my list it is top ten for sure, that feeling of being able to play at home is unmatched
I’ve born in the 80’s too. I am a gamer all my life and I enjoy playing games on my ps5 and all the new stuff. But I still playing games from the 80’s and 90’s . They still gives me that feeling and the joy to play, like when I was a kid😄

Super Metroid is still 1 for me...That intro to the game has really never been topped by any other game in history... When you first start that game there is NO way your putting it down with how that intro starts....There is no game in history that nails the atmosphere like that game its so alien, eerie, out of this world, the music is beyond amazing, gameplay is awesome, story is epic, bosses or larger than life, and that ending seals it all for eternity.

The Konami Tiny Toon games were some of the best looking games in terms of their sprites, but Konami always killed it on the sprites. Zombies Ate My Neighbors is due for some kind of revival, it's an all-time great. I loved Lufia but Lufia 2 was a huge step up. Earthbound might be my favorite JRPG of all time.

I bought an SNES Classic (mini) but I haven't played it very much because it's mostly RPG and platform games. No old school beat em up like Final Fight or Double Dragon. I like some of the platform games. I still can't go far in any Mario game (the old ones).
As an SNES stan, it always revolves around SMetroid link to the past and FF6/CT. They had maxed out the 16 bit envelope and it showed. Oddly as an TB JRPG guy, I kind of lean to Super Metroid as the best game.

SNES was the goat for sure. That being said, I got so sick of the side scroller format that 80% of the games had. Stoped playing most side scrollers cuz it just felt so tired and old to me at the time. Loved the rpgs though. Shadowrun, Oger battle, Populas, final fantasy, chrono trigger, secret of mana. All amazing titles that I still have found memories of playing to this day!

2 things that come to mind in the first 2 minutes of this video. i guess the snes era was the era of just adding the word super to all the game titles. and i didnt realize how many games were on a similar platform as contra.

The tick, taz mania, spawn, toy story, nosferatu, the mask y pinochio también son juegos toscos. Pero estoy de acuerdo, el asunto es que repite sagas sin necesidad. Están Donkey Kong 1 2 y 3, Megaman X 1 y 2, y así sucesivamente. Mejor sería si pone un ejemplar de cada una para tener más variedad en la lista.

I bought an SNES Classic (mini) but I haven't played it very much because it's mostly RPG and platform games. No old school beat em up like Final Fight or Double Dragon. I like some of the platform games. I still can't go far in any Mario game (the old ones).

As an SNES stan, it always revolves around SMetroid link to the past and FF6/CT.
They had maxed out the 16 bit envelope and it showed.
Oddly as an TB JRPG guy, I kind of lean to Super Metroid as the best game.

Then you have Illusion Gaia, Pocky and Rocky 2, and MegaMan X2 so low when those are all top 20 games easily. But then you put garbage soccer games and Eco the Dolphin on the list, this list is confusing

Because my nana was so nice to rent me a few games each weekend I visited her for a couple years I was able to play almost every title on this list!
Metal Warriors, for a game that made it's character's weapons go adorably "Pew, pew, pew!", it's a bloodlust inducing fun game.

SNES was the goat for sure. That being said, I got so sick of the side scroller format that 80% of the games had. Stoped playing most side scrollers cuz it just felt so tired and old to me at the time. Loved the rpgs though. Shadowrun, Oger battle, Populas, final fantasy, chrono trigger, secret of mana. All amazing titles that I still have found memories of playing to this day!
