Besides, in USA, colleges and universities are deemed private properties regardless of being 100% private entity or fumed by public money and even if you are protesting peacefully but without permits, it is considered trace passing and if you put tent stuff, eat, drink and make noise, it is deemed as abuse of property and owners can prosecute for damages as well as offence would be from misdemeanor to felony. (How many Indians are familiar with these terms: misdemeanors, felony, trace passing, disturbance, altercation, …….?)

Students need to understand that they are consumers, If they want their universities to take them seriously, they should all take a semester off, or go to a school that has similar beliefs to theirs, they should research the University or College they want to go to and make sure they share the same values. I'm sure they will welcome you. I don't think a criminal record will be helpful to these students in the long run. Also, these protesters should all wear shirts that say, "I Vote". What America needs to understand is that, Although college students are being loud about how they feel, many other Americans feel like they do. Who is Trump to talk about taking over a building at Columbia University, he encouraged people to take over Congress.
