    William, this stupid video just SAVED MY ASS. I did the same thing for my baja but I hired a guy to do it for me and plate my arms. Got it all back and nothing was lining up properly. I seriously thought he screwed the pooch on this and have been messing with it for weeks and looking a YT videos and trying to figure out what was wrong. Turns out it was just my re-assembly steps and method was screwed up. So thank you VERY much for posting this. Have a great day. Rich

    Great video , it helped me as well , I'm doing my rail buggy now and using this video as a reference, I'm guessing the wood block holding out the jig is to take up the slack in the pocket and keep it lined on the puck inside the bracket ?

    Looks awesome, I'd love to be able to do this to my 65 bug...

    I take it you didn’t do the other welding on this buggy. Your tig welds look good. The other welds on this rig look like it was someone’s first time welding.

    Was this really a one day job? Good work. Looks great.

      Yes it was pretty easy to get done in one day on this pretty open frame. could be more challenging depending on what your working on. Thanks for watching

    Nice job, and thanks for the video. Anything that you would do differently after 10 months gone by?

    Hey William thanks fir the tutorial, where did you get the jigs? I’m trying to do this to my 67 Ghia. Do you know if it changes the overall axis width?

      I got the jig's from specialty Buggy Supply. I don't think is changes the width but I am not positive I have only done buggy's so no body to keep the wheels under.

    Made it look easy. Had to push the e-brake tube over a bit on my ‘63 and no videos have this. Trimming the bracket a bit too, it’s not this straightforward.

    I have a rear end out of a 72 (non swing arm)to weld onto my swing arm sandrail. Any recommendations using the genuine VW rear end?

    Do you use the old spring plates from the swing axle, or change them? Thanks

      @wjones1972  3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Delete the background hammer noise on the video it's annoying other than that it's a great video.

    Next time get them ugly stock frame horns off of it too they're week and it makes it a lot easier to do the conversion you literally just weld everything back on much easier
