That she remember the names of spouse of the patients that died while in her care speaks volume about her compassion as a person and physician.
I’m honestly a little surprised though that it was only like 4-5 she named. Like really? At this point season 15 or 17, 18 something she’s only lost a handful to death…? Really? 🤔
She only named spouses maybe not everyone was married
@@tusselina91 okay thank you. I can get on board with that logic, makes sense.
More as though she was in direct care of them in life or death situations and was NOT able to save them and most likely was the one who had to tell the spouse.
I assumed she meant killed. Like she lost them as a direct result of her making a wrong choice. Every doctor at some point makes a decision which causes the death of a patient, it’s impossible to practice medicine and for that to never happen. It’s not always incompetence or malpractice (although it can be), sometimes you just have to make a decisions with the information at hand, maybe it’s a 50:50 toss up, or feels like it, but afterwards, in hindsight, you realise it was the wrong choice.
"But instead you're sitting up there, judging ME?" Love that delivery.
SAME the way she says ‘judging me’ is just **chefs kiss**
edit: typo
The way she just “BURR HOLES!” like “the bare minimum wasn’t even done!”
Because it wasn’t
A Head CT was bare minimum that the male doctor didnt want to do. Which would of warranted for Burr holes.
This is why not everyone can be in the medical field
It wasn't. I saw the episode and he was a total jerk.
There's a reason why it's called practicing medicine. One of my great grandma's died in the hospital when some Dumb A$$ was cleaning her room and unplugged a monitor while cleaning her room. You see all those extra plug-ins in the hospital room? You're welcome!!! 😡🤬 And no, we didn't see a dime in the aftermath!
She’s right, it’s incredibly thoughtless to let the doctor who lost your husband have any part of decision-making over your life, especially if there’s animosity from either side.
I'm guessing they didn't know that originally
They did not know and the culprit didn’t even remember her…
@@haileym5912they knew
@@haileym5912 In the real world they would have known. They would have done cross referencing to make sure none of the doctors on the board to evaluate Meredith hadn't treated any of her or her family prior, or worked with her or any of them so it would have popped up that he treated her husband before he died. So anyone who worked with Derek, or treated him or her children at any point would have been off the list.
Speaking of conflictofintrest him being there having control over her license is a conflict of interest
His face was like "oh crap, how does she remember me" 😂 i love when meredith gets the moral high ground she always kills it 😂
I think the whole point was to show the difference between them. She listed off every spouse, not patient. Then proceeded with “you don’t remember me”. Because she is the spouse, and Derek was a world known surgeon. So if you can’t remember his spouse after killing him. It just shows the difference between them.
What is your point? I was just describing the look on his face when meredith told the whole room about how shitty a doctor he is@user-iq4fl9il7o
The time Meredith killed a man by shouting at him.
Super Karen
@@Ronkyort0dox she isn't a Karen. That man killed her husband. He would've survived if it wasn't for that man. Meredith was 100% right
oh was wünschte ich das so etwas in der Realität möglich wäre-geht aber nur in hollywood
she has the power
@@Ronkyort0doxshe ain't no Karen she is a mom and was wife of a man she loved and was frustrated and took her anger out that was in her for so long
Not all of us get to have this moment of confrontation so this spoke to me.
Oh yes I did! I had the opportunity of not only confronting the female that killed my oldest son she also slept with my husband after my son died. I've had my confrontation for now. And she can have the ex-husband LOL now since he's with her he's in and out of jail looking at prison time back to being addicted to meth and heroin and Fentanyl. His voice has absolutely ruined it. Also before my son passed away to others that she was dating died in her apartment. So that is a total of three dots surrounding heart. When I got the info from the coroner's office I find out that the same thing happened to all three. She works for the police so I highly doubt anything will get done. She works for the police as an informant not an officer or anything like that. And you're in a half before my oldest son passed away my youngest son at 21 was in the military and he passed away. So both of my children are now gone, I'm ready to go home with them and a couple of my other favorite family member
@@jenniferforeman1599Reading your story hurt. You’ve dealt with so much in your life. No parent should bury a child. I hope it was comforting for you to vent but remember this person doesn’t have power over you anymore. At least if that’s how you want it to be. It takes a lot of effort though to move on I’m sure. They may have contributed towards many horrible things that happened but they don’t hold your identity. You still are your own person dealing with things in your own way. I hope you someday get closure.
I wish I could have my confrontation, but I'm too afraid to confront my biological father and it would stress me out which would cause my epilepsy to go haywire.
@Picachki thank you. I will get my closure soon enough. Before I leave this earth my son will get his justice this I promise you!!!!! I have breast cancer and have chosen no treatment. I will meet my maker with a clear conscience and a happy heart!
@@jenniferforeman1599 I’m so sorry to hear about your cancer. You’re even stronger than you mentioned before! May you find peace in the afterlife with your son. I can’t say that you won’t be missed but I understand your decision.
And she still went to do her job. That is the thing about being in the medical field the person who comes in maybe a monster but we still are going to help him/her. This is one of my favorite scenes.
Its fake
@@mazing32able no crap.
If you did not, then the person you are helping has no chance at redemption. When you provide care for the "monsters," you provide an opportunity for forgiveness, grace, and redemption to live.
@@homemanager1724you are a nice person
Yes, but not all doctors are good doctors. Some are just in it for the money, some are in it for their ego. We're all only human.
Grey's anatomy had me crying for 15years.
frrrrrr
I have watched Grey's Anatomy from start season 1, episode 1
A Hard Days Night to season 19 episode 20 Happily Ever After, only once, I cried through most every episode, why in heavens name would I put myself through that heartache again? There are a few episodes I rewatch, I will not re-watch and rewatch the entire series to much heartache. My favorite episode is Song beneath the song, season 7 episode 18.
😂 i remember calling my brother one night just balling and cussing Shonda! I could barely breathe.... "De....rrek..... died!" It's like the writers try to make us cry every week, let's one up the last episode.
My weekly cleanse! Lol 😂😂😂
And for some reason, i am watching the whole series all over again. It is emotionally so fulfilling as well as draining at the same time. Everytime i feel that i don't wanna watch this again but i watch 1 scene n I'm hooked. I love watching "Friends" but this is something else, much underrated i believe.
I was all in til the CoVid crap hit. I lived it all day, every day. Didn’t want to live it on the tv at home too. Needed an escape. Was pretty disheartened about it too.
she slayed him. literally
Favorite Grey's scene of all time. *slams desk* "my conflict of interest?!!!!"
I always loved that she not only remembered the names of the spouses of the people she lost but she was able to rattle them off like they were all yesterday. No hesitation, no pauses to recall. She just KNEW.
There was a character in NCIS that had the initials of every person she couldn't save tattooed on her arm. She wanted to make sure she never forgot them. She also used them as reminders of what happens when she failed.
@@katherinkeegan8601 That's a really cool and sentimental idea. Who was it? I haven't watched NCIS in several seasons so it must be someone I'm unfamiliar with.
@@denverlilly3669 It's the new female detective. I don't remember her name. I quit watching it several years ago and just happened to catch a newer episode.
Truth. Meredith was many things....especially brutally honest and a true doctor, with compassion and love. She knows the names of the ones she lost, their spouses, and speaks those names with respect. That says so much about her as a person, and as a physician.
I actually remember the episode where she first did burr holes on a patient. I think the patient was in a car on a bridge. There was a major car accident. She's right, it should have cost that guy his license. He worked on THE TOP neurosurgeon in that half of the country, if not the whole country, and messed up seriously. These were amateur mistakes that an attending would rake a resident over the coals for.
Izzie did the burr holes on the guy on the bridge. Meredith was busy drowning lmao
@@neonisirrelevant Oh ok. I forgot it was Izzie. I didn't remember that was the same episode Meredith drowned.
@darkshogun5887 yeah I always think of Izzie when I hear burr holes now lol
Yep, Chief and McSteamy walked Izzy through it over the phone. It was what got Izzy off of her probation after cutting Denny's L-VAD wire.
@@neonisirrelevant I think it wasn't a bridge, but a Ferry. Izzie was there for that. It was when Mer was helping out with the disaster and fell into the freezing cold water
SHE ATE HIM UP. Meredith is mother for real.❤
SO glad Meredith said that to him. He made no attempt whatsoever to save her husband's life. It had been recommended by another doctor that didn't have his seniority and HE SHUT HER DOWN.
death went from chasing meredith, to fearing her, to working under her LMAO
hahahaha agree!!!
She is a really incredible actress.
Love this Meredith moment
Same!!!!
Same she is so good at confronting the man who is responsible for Derek’s death and that loss for her and the kids .
Amazing writing and acting. One of the best scenes on Grey’s in later seasons.
His guilt killed him
How he didn’t remember killing one of the top neurosurgeons was insane!
Yeah not very believable tbh. But created a great tv moment
Dyg! Like how.
It least she spoke up. You shouldn't let
them steamroll over you. It is mentally, physically, and financially draining when you go to school for approximately 5 years.
Um…..Surgeons go to school a heck of a lot longer than 5 years. It begins with the high school diploma that typically takes 12 years, 4 years for undergrad, 4 years of medical school, then an additional of 5-7 years in residency [the actual number of years being dependent on the specificity of the field the individual chose- general and orthopedic surgeons will finish residency faster than, say, neuro or plastic surgery].
I completely agree with you though that you can’t allow the powers that be to steamroll you and have to be brave enough to say something if they even attempt to.
😂😂😂5 years??? You wish!!
I always felt this was one of her finest moments. Her characters inner strength is unmatched, and she shows it here.
She saved his life. If anyone wants to know.
Thank you! He didn’t deserve being saved.
She saved him for a little while the other neurologist tried to save him in emergency surgery but he died!
I would agree. @@merrivale.1229
Thanks, this is the comment I was looking for
Of course she did. She believed her oath. she swore it and lived it. Even so, I still want to know how she developed all that power. And where I could learn it.
One of the best scenes of Grey’s Anatomy. She was so powerful! 😍😍
She was fierce, rightfully so.
Powerful enough to kill a guy just by yelling at him 😂
She’s is such an amazing actress!! I never watch this show but seen clips on TH-cam and she by-far is the best, her emotions are so believable..
She's so damn badass 💪
fr
Yes I loved the part where she says get him a head ct
The most badass Meredith Grey Moment
Her composure is amazing. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
She acted the hell out of that scene 👏👏👏
After he fell down and had a seizure, the first thing I would’ve said if I were her was get him a head CT
She actually did say exactly that
This moment on Grey's Anatomy is the absolute most fiercest Meredith has been. Dr. Paul Castello sucked and is the reason, on Grey's, Derek died, on My Shot season 16 episode 8 Grey's Anatomy
thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LIFE SAVER
So Derek died.... 😢😢😢😢😢❤
@@extraction97000 9 seasons ago season 11 episode 21. We are going into season 20 next month😁
It is emotionally so fulfilling as well as draining at the same time. Everytime i feel that i don't wanna watch this again but i watch 1 scene n I'm hooked. I love watching "Friends" but this is something else, much underrated i believe.
she owned him slay meredith
Showing that men would literally rather die than take accountability
100% satisfaction for any pacient who was wronged by an incapable doctor. Good M. 👍
One of my favorite and most powerful scene of this series, and that is saying a lot!
“And get him a damn head CT!” Was the mic drop!!!!
This is what we need today!!! Why do we have ppl that don't do right and don't tell others what is right when they know better?
I love how she runs to rescue him without a second thought... now there's a doctor
I love this scene. I've just watched it about twenty times.
Exactly, now she's being tested to see if she's going to save his life after he watched her husband died in surgery.
Nah this scene was badass and very much needed.
One of My favorite Grey's Anatomy scenes ever! 😅😂 Especially because, Meredith went over to examine him after he collapsed, even though she literally triggered it, with Amelia overseeing the surgery; I'd never been prouder of My favorites.😂
there aren't many iconic scenes beyond season 12, but this one? she BODIED that.
No man in a position of power would ever sit and listen quietly to that.
I can't count the number of times I've watched this particular scene. Just incredible!
Meredith gagged him so hard he died
Karma: You know what... you're right ~spin kicks the guy~ Let's see if he still wants to stop you from doing your job
And he thought he was going to get away with it !!!! Lol
This is great. Like the way he gets what’s coming
AND SHE STILL TURNED AROUND AND TRIED TO SAVE HIS ASS
The “ah oh” when he fainted is like in every show
Best Meredith Grey speech ever
I have this speech memorized. Mer's a badass
This scene was EVERYTHING!!!
This scene alone such a brilliant actress and such a powerful scene in this show she deserved to win a Emmy for this right here!! I love Ellen Pompeo ❤ Please come back to Grey's Anatomy this is your show the show is about Dr. Meredith Grey!! 20 wonderful Seasons with Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) ❤
This is SO good! ❤ Love this scene!
Actions did not speak louder than words this time. When they wrote this episode they decided to give Meredith a different kind of power.
I felt that so much, tears fell my eyes. Stupid powerful she is!
She deserved so
Much better
I'm never not going to stop love watching this scene! Mer at her most savage and badass!!
This is the first time I saw this, but listening to her becoming aggressive-protective over her daughter I thought she should say the following
"One more word about my daughter, and I will end you in every sense of the word" not knowing how this clip was going to end. I was shocked.
Baby god took him at the RIGHT time
Right when his bad behavior got him kicked off the show 😂
She was absolutly right!
It's like being married to your job. Your tax returns you don't get that much back. She is a well rounded individual. You don't get paid to be a intern. You have to have the patience of a Saint.
Actually interns do get paid; their average salary is $50,000 +/-
One of the best scenes ever on Greys Anatomy.
He deserved everything she said. Sad he did, but he had no right judging her, when he did worse.
And this is exactly what should be said. He will deal with the consequences.
and the fact she was the first to run to him as well says a lot
Meredith going momma bear there
I recall her hardest loss, that she doesn't mention. Her dad's (Thatcher) wife went in for a simple procedure and died. That was hard to watch.
That was a GREAT episode!
Burr Holes as an intern is freaking impressive! GET HIM MEREDITH!!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Derek's death was so tragic for all of us... hes a freaking neuro surgeon... he knows what he needs to get the help he needs to survive... and to see himself refused of the treatment... all of us were screaming when derek died. Yes Meredith u vent our our frustration with u.
Love Love Grey’s Anatomy…watched every episode
The man just lied dead
And she STILL rushed to give him medical attention.
Whewww i cry every single time. When they actually show Derek lying in the bed and this man’s face over him. 😭 😭 he’s a terrible doctor and I agree with Mer. Love all the actors in this scene. Sheesh. Phenomenal performances
Yes Meredith✨❤️
Great writers on this show.
Looks like she Scared him into a heart attack or something
I believe it was a brain bleed, as he was wheeled out she told the emts to tell ER to get a CT
Probably more of a stroke
Not her fault.
Even after all that, she is still the first one to go to his aid after he collapses.
This is my favourite scene of all time from Grey's.
I love how she's wearing Gray, it's just giving Final Form.
And that shows the true power of medical professionals:
Even though they often get attacked (at least the paramedics in Germany), they won't hesitate a second to help the person who just attacked them.
His death wasn't on her. It was a Power that took his life.
One of my favorite scenes!!
I love Meredith 🎉🎉 poor Derek 😭😭
Brilliant acting on her part. ❤
ICONIC
This is an amazing scene
I want part 2 to this pleaseee. Am getting goose bumps
One of the best scenes! Go Mer!💪🏽
This I think was the best damn scene in the whole series.
I just realized that Grey's Anatomy is the modern General Hospital 🤔
Dedicated fan of this show for 15 years and never got to see this episode. Aaaggghh!
She was a real medusaaa😂
