Heme Consults # 27 - Signing off

When you are done answering the consult question, it is time to sign off. If you don't sign off, you're in limbo about what you are doing for the patient and the team assumes you are aware of every hematologic concern. Do yourself and them a favor, sign off cleanly so that they can engage you again when they actually need you. This leave you free to take care of the next patient.
