Rengoku was honestly a great character. He was a good mentor to Tanjiro and the others even for such a short time. Somehow they made that death feel so heavy and meaningful!

I love Inosuke in this movie. The guy who throughout it all refused to listen because he's the boss, was at the end the first one to take Rangoku's last words to heart. Thanks to that, he was able to pull the other two out of despair. A developement from the last training arc of season 1 where he was the one who needed to be motivated by Tanjirou to get back on his feet.
Rengoku never had that conversation with his little brother but it was his happy moment.. So he tells Tanjiro when he sees him tell him to follow his path. This shit hit different

I think alot of viewers missed how epic the nightmare dream was. Tenjiro was so pissed off at the end of the dream that he didn't need to behead himself to break the spell.

Most people would think that their family blames them if they alone survived because of their guilt but Tanjiro didn't even entertain such though. This also shows how determined and strong willed rengoku was. Using his strongest form, despite all of those severe injuries. Respect to mah man rengoku, he truly set our hearts a blaze.
The Hashira are absolutely amazing individuals for so many reasons. I have my favorites after reading the manga, but I will always love them all. We’ll never forget our Flame Hashira. Rengoku was incredible to the very end.
The Hashira are actually now on the top of my list of the best shounen good guy elite group trope. They're just such a perfectly balanced and very respectable set of individuals. What I love the most about them is that their existence isn't just there to create power hype. They truly emmulate their namesake, Pillars.
Rengoku is a man with a strong sense of justice and burns as hot as a flame. But the words he spoke to Tanjiro and the others were like a gentle torch that illuminated them. Heart ablaze!
Also akaza's screama were insanley good. Tanjiro and Inosuke's VA at the end also made an amazing work. Animation and music was insane this movie but everyone should also admit that voice acting was amazing.

I'm super late, but WOW I love your guys' analysis. It was so on point, especially Tanjiro's complete frustration that he couldn't do anything, even after learning and growing so much. He has such a long way to go, and the Upper Ranks are on a whole other level. The respect you have for Rengoku and the final moment with his mother is so heart warming.

Beautiful reaction! You guys are right about Rengoku being one of the stronger Hashira out of the 9, but Akaza is also one of the strongest demon out there xD. He held back trying to make Rengoku give up his humanity but in the end Rengoku never did show any reconsideration, so Akaza did win the battle, but Rengoku definitely won the war. Rengoku's death hit like a train, but when we learn more about Akaza, it'll feel like another train xD~

Muzan, along with Upper Moon 1 and 2, has successfully done so, so with Akaza being super powerful, I think he does have the ability.

If Muzan accept those who becomes demon for their strength, he can give them even more blood to help them evolve and get even stronger.

mini-spoiler: Rengoku isn't the strongest hashira, but definitely in the top 5. This fight is a good introduction to show the power of the upper moons but sadly they had to sacrifice Rengoku to do this. He definitely died too soon but at least he died heroically and happy

Strongest to weakest Hashira are 1.Gyomei Himejima(Stone Pillar) 2.Sanemi Shinazugawa(Wind Pillar) 3.Obanai Iguro(Serpent Pillar) 4.Muichiro Tokoto(Mist Pillar) 5.Kyojuro Rengoku(Flame Pillar) 6.Giyu Tomioka(Water Pillar) 7.Mitsuri Kanroji(Love Pillar) 8.Tengen Uzui(Sound Pillar) 9.Shinobu Kocho(Insect Pillar) And trust me Gyomei and Sanemi are complete monsters! Also no Rengoku and Akaza are nowhere near the same level Akaza is levels above Rengoku in this fight he was barely using 50% of his powers because he wanted to make Rengoku come a demon instead of killing him. Spoilers. Dont read if you didn’t finish the movie before scrolling. If you think about it, Rengoku was loads stronger. Just think back and try to remember how many times Rengoku cut of the upper 3’s arms. It happened so many times you can’t even count. What hits did the demon land? He grazed his forehead, punched him in the gut, then, after getting an arm split in two and his torso ripped to shreds, a single punch through Rengoku’s gut, which nearly killed him anyway because he was almost caught by the sun. Rengoku landed countless hits and took only 3, yet he lost because demons have insanely boosted physical prowess and unfair regenerative abilities and only fight in the dead of night. Bottom line, demons are weak little bitches.

That's why he killed him at the end, because Akaza underestimate Rengoku and was shocked that he could actually cut his head. I agree saying that Rengoku has more potential as Mist Pillar (not the most powerful but the one with the potential of being the strongest), but he wasn't strong enough during train arc. The most touching part for me is Rengoku innocent smile when his mother feeling proud, that smile make me lost it.

I'm super late, but WOW I love your guys' analysis. It was so on point, especially Tanjiro's complete frustration that he couldn't do anything, even after learning and growing so much. He has such a long way to go, and the Upper Ranks are on a whole other level. The respect you have for Rengoku and the final moment with his mother is so heart warming.

Beautiful reaction! You guys are right about Rengoku being one of the stronger Hashira out of the 9, but Akaza is also one of the strongest demon out there xD. He held back trying to make Rengoku give up his humanity but in the end Rengoku never did show any reconsideration, so Akaza did win the battle, but Rengoku definitely won the war. Rengoku's death hit like a train, but when we learn more about Akaza, it'll feel like another train xD~

@@peakyblinders372 As an upper rank 3, Akaza MOST LIKELY can by making the human drink his blood, but he has not shown to do so since no one had ever took his offer, as he mentioned in the movie. Muzan, along with Upper Moon 1 and 2, has successfully done so, so with Akaza being super powerful, I think he does have the ability.

His blood is powerful enough to convert humans into demons. Now with Upper moons, let just say 1-3, being the closest to him in term of power compared to all demons, their blood are NEAREST to Muzan's and humans who drink their blood can become demon. If Muzan accept those who becomes demon for their strength, he can give them even more blood to help them evolve and get even stronger.

No matter how much I watch Rengoku vs Akaza, I can't get over it. Man the animation, the soundtrack. The animation alone is worth every penny.

the impact of rengoku in this movie is phenomenal
And the scariest part is that Akaza went really easy on him. He barely even used 20% of his full potential. That's the reason he was laughing throughout the whole fight.

Upper moon demon is very very strong, To defeat him you need at least two or three Hashira on the mission, which is why the upper demon is never replaced and invincible

mini-spoiler: Rengoku isn't the strongest hashira, but definitely in the top 5. This fight is a good introduction to show the power of the upper moons but sadly they had to sacrifice Rengoku to do this. He definitely died too soon but at least he died heroically and happy
I’m pretty sure they said he was the 4th strongest I’ll half to look again but yeah top 5 for sure wish we would of gotten more in the future with him but they did him right in my opinion

Douma wasn't able to regenerate since he had 37kg of poison in his system which stopped him from regenerating, but as stated in the manga the top 3 upper moons have the most similar traits as to Muzan, one of those is immunity to head decapitation.

If you think about it, Rengoku was loads stronger. Just think back and try to remember how many times Rengoku cut of the upper 3’s arms. It happened so many times you can’t even count. What hits did the demon land? He grazed his forehead, punched him in the gut, then, after getting an arm split in two and his torso ripped to shreds, a single punch through Rengoku’s gut, which nearly killed him anyway because he was almost caught by the sun. Rengoku landed countless hits and took only 3, yet he lost because demons have insanely boosted physical prowess and unfair regenerative abilities and only fight in the dead of night.
Bottom line, demons are weak little bitches.
Akaza only used 3 of his moves and rengoku used ALL of them. Wdym 😂😂

That's why he killed him at the end, because Akaza underestimate Rengoku and was shocked that he could actually cut his head. I agree saying that Rengoku has more potential as Mist Pillar (not the most powerful but the one with the potential of being the strongest), but he wasn't strong enough during train arc.
