Season 2 was interesting. One anime original episode to lead you into Rengoku, and then Entertainment District Arc. Though everyone can agree that Season 2 really starts with Entrepreneurs District Arc lol.

40:52 Zenitsu is fast, but more in _movement speed_ since thunder breathing focuses on the legs, it's not like his swordplay is fast as a hashira or an upper rank demon at that point in time so he would still be shredded if he tried to intervene in that fight.
SPOILERS -------------------- Idk what are you all yapping about but the reality is none of the Hashiras can kill Akaza 1v1 even with their marks. Don't know what manga you read but Akaza is a different level, he's close to becoming a whole new being alltogether not to mention that none with a strong kill intent can touch him, and also the fact it's useless to cut his head off. This fight he was not even 50% serious which is why he allowed Rengoku to catch him off guard in the first place. He desperately tried to convert Rengoku into a demon for the whole fight, if he wanted him dead he would have killed him in minutes.
Finally someone with braincells. Look I really love rengoku (he's my 2nd fav hashira. RIP to the goat) but there's no way he can kill akaza, even with the slayer mark its still not close. In rengoku's fight against akaza, akaza wasn't even trying his main focus was just to turn rengoku into a demon, not to mention he was just using his basic moves ( air type and disorder) which are literally his weakest moves (apart from annihilation type which is his strongest move) apart from annihilation type he even has tons of moves that are 1000x stronger than those basic moves. People think rengoku can kill akaza with the slayer mark but he cannot, it's not even close. Akaza, him that easily overwhelmed both marked giyuu and marked tanjiro (he was probably hashira level). When akaza fought giyuu while tanjiro was trying to awaken the ST(selfless state) and when he decided to end the fight, he easily broke giyuu sword without leaving any injury or cut on his hand and he was literally about the give giyuu the donut treatment (sorry lol 🙏😭). Giyuu was even spamming all of his 11 water breathing forms at him but akaza was just adapting to all of it like it was nothing. If tanjiro didn't awaken, giyuu would've already died, even considering the fact that he awakened his mark and he's the 4th strongest hashira (in my opinion). Akaza vs marked giyuu is a no diff fight. Akaza demolishes both giyuu and rengoku. Anyways sorry for yapping 🙏😭
Fun fact Rengoku is Daichi from Haikyu Voice actor, another fun fact Akaza and Gaara shares the same Voice actor also, Ubayashiki (the master of demon corps) is Minato Namikaze from Naruto VA.
A lot of people like to downplay Rengoku and say he's a weak Hashira. While yes, Akaza was absolutely toying with him during the fight and if he was being serious, he would've put Rengoku (and most, not all, of the other Hashira tbh) in the dirt easily, people don't seem to wanna admit that Akaza was legit panicking at the end when Rengoku was holding him in place. It's definitely notable that even if it was his death throes and a last ditch effort using every last ounce of his strength, he WAS physically overpowering Upper 3 while having massive injuries. Akaza toying with him almost cost him his life, one way or the other. Rengoku doesn't deserve to be called one of the weakest Hashira after that display, in my opinion.
It bugs me that they didn't realize upper 3 meant strongest upper moon. Which is weird because enmu's existence in this movie should have educated them

Thats also why they were so stubborn prev episode. Our trio 15-16. Hashiras had more years fighting frontline + own traumas like mc Rengoku is 20. Sad how he calls our trio young buds when hes so young himself. If he had lived, he wouldve truly entered his prime 🔥
Even if Zenitsu is there, even if all of them were fresh, even if they all gang up on Akaza they'd still fail not to mention they'll just get in the way of Rengoku. The power gap is way too large.
I'd just like to point out that catching a punch from Akaza with his bare hands is probably the craziest feat we see from Rengoku even if its not visually impressive. Like its so crazy i can barely believe it. This is a dude who could juggle train cars like fucking Mr. Incredible.
No to mention, he did it with a whole arm in his chest. He was the closest hashira to ever beat Akaza in a 1v1. I feel like most of the other hashira would not do as well against Akaza as Rengoku did in a 1v1. (Which is why Akaza was enjoying the fight so much.) Its like Akaza was just using his 30% strength and power in that battle.. 2) Akaza is invincible so no one can actually defeat him... 3) It was akaza's mercy that the fight took that much time otherwise if akaza was serious from the start then akaza would have killed rengoku in secs and in most brutal ways... 4) Kyojuro Rengoku himself is mid -weak level hashira . So the fate of fight was already decided when akaza first appeared. It was just akaza's laziness that cause akaza some trouble otherwise the fight would have ended in seconds...
