I feel like this stand brings up a lot of questions about "inconsistencies" and "plot-holes",
but that's not this! Maybe next time. We're trying to see how we can beat this JoJolion stand.

I like to think that Tooru could actually die from any common accident. Like, someone can run him over, if the person driving didn’t see Tooru before running over him, he’s dead, WOU can’t do anything about it, nor can he protect Tooru from a car without controlling calamity, which can’t happen in this situation. Same for a building catching fire, or a plane crash , if Tooru is inside of those while it’s happening, for exemple.
i mean tooru does have high endurance due to him being a rock human
though killing tooru wont kill WoU
also any character powerful and reckless enough for destruction to happen in their wake could easily take out tooru.
like how man does not try to step on an ant, it just happens.
I think you’re right about that, I mean if Tooru’s going to slip and slide off of a cliff by accident or step on a rusty nail Wonder Of U can’t exactly stop the cliff for that.
Though I think it should be noted that Wonder Of U’s practical fortune manipulation would probably redirects all kinds of misfortune away from Tooru by default, as stands do passively protect their users regardless of their will.

Hey Ya! counters Wonder of U. It's easy, it will give the user a way to unknowingly create a situation for the detriment of Wonder of U and their user.
Any calamity can be circumvented so long as one follows Hey Ya!'s advice. So long as one believes Hey Ya! enough.
Hey ya! Has no actual ability, it just gives the user words of encouragement, this is a statement from the creator of jojo himself.

What I'm banking on is the ignorance Hey Ya! allows the user to have on what they're doing or about to do. That can circumvent the calamity, because they're not pursuing the guy, they're just doing things that end up affecting him.
Hey Ya! can notice things around the user and recommend a beneficial action without the user noticing what it is doing like the cow carcass moment. I do not think that that moment is about seeing the future but simply being observant while being carried by the user.
So long as the user doesn't notice what's really going on, who Wonder of U is and is simply led on by other people and Hey Ya!, he shouldn't be affected by the super OP ability.

heavens door is the perfect counter for everything. it’s one of the most wankable abilities ever.
It's not clear what the limits of Heaven's Door are. I'm not convinced that it can literally do anything Rohan writes.
Rohan might be able to get around the pursuit by controlling someone into acting on his behalf; if he does this, then WoU wouldn't trigger since the person wouldn't be willingly pursuing Toru. However, writing that command into someone would likely count as an act of pursuit in itself, so Rohan wouldn't actually be able to do that.

@@i.drawcomics And easiest to counter. Just close your eyes and Rohan cannot do anything. Remember you have to see HD to actually be affected. This is complemented by the fact that Rohan is kinda terrible when it comes to actual stand battles.
In that case Rohan could’ve written “immune to Kira’s stand” or “knows Kira’s location” and saved everyone some time. I have to imagine it can’t do that.

I've seen people saying that gojo could defeat wonder of u. Why tho ? Calamity is described as "the logic of the universe itself" so, infinite works according to mathematical principles, which mean that everything that tries to get closer to gojo has its speed fractionated. So, calamity, by manipulating logic, wouldn't go through infinity somehow ? Anything bad can happen within the calamity.
That’s actually an interesting question, i mean gojo’s forcefields are basically unlimited so calamities can’t just be thrown objects or the like. Actually would gojo’s domain expansion even work on wou?
@@noblekatana2270 Yes throwing objects propably wont work on Gojo but WOU will literally do anything in the logic of the universe to kill him. As for the domain calamity would (in some way) kill Gojo just in time before the attack lands, the same way it killed Mamezuku

Maybe sukuna actully has a anti calamity technique. Since the space dismantel cuts the 3rd dimension its maybe a 4 dimensional slash that does not exist in the 3rd dimension
Ok so kind of a joke post so a character named Milo Murphy from Milo Murphy's Law he's family is crusted by Murphy's Law which is a law of physics that if something can go wrong it will go wrong so Milo goes through life having everything go wrong around him so what I'm saying is it's that he could probably deal with wonderview what's so funny is how similar the two are
He is also a very well intentioned inidividual that does a lot for those around him. So his Karma would be good. So it would make for a very interesting encounter lol.

You know, often when it comes to villains like Makima and Tooru, I always think of scenarios as "What happens if I throw a grenade with the intent to blow up a room and these characters happen to be in that room", or "What if im trying to like shoot a piece of clothing they are wearing", cause technically, in these scenarios, you don't have the will to kill them, so they really can't counter attack you. Thats how Makima died, Denji's attacks were motivated by love, not hate, thats why the damage she took didn't get transfered somewhere else (imagine Sukuna attacking existence and the world instead of Gojo or Infinity)
"Hey, mind putting this apple on your head for me to shoot arrows at?"
Funny how Jail House Lock and some random guy could most likely solo this guy:
Attach a mirror in front of someone so that they always see their face. That's memory #1
Write on the mirror/face "you gotta find this guy (Tooru) and kill him." That's memory #2
"After you read this sentence, you will be afflicted by the worst of luck. Stay vigilent" memory #3
The calamity starts affecting this guy after reading memory #2, but after the guy reads memory #3, he'll most likely be startled and start looking around and shit, getting a new memory and having the 3 before be reset. That means he'll no longer be pursuing Tooru, so the effect of calamity stops. But then he sees the mirror so he starts the cycle again. Rinse and repeat until you reach Tooru, then take the mirror off as the random guy reads info #2, sees Tooru in person (that's memory #3), shoots/does whatever to kill him (that's memory #4 and thus he forgets everything before that, not allowing the calamity to affect him nor save Tooru since now the random guy has no knowledge of Tooru so he can't have pursued him)
This might be able to deal with tooru but gotta remember wou can exist without him. Also wouldn’t the act of putting those steps on the mirror count as you pursuing him? Correct me on that one if I’m wrong.

Most embarrassing potential defeater of Wonder of U: The Rat. If a rat is just wandering around being a rat, gets startled by Toru or Wonder, and shoots a corrosive dart that could have killed a badass like Jotaro if Josuke wasn't right there at close enough range, could it have just killed him outright?
It would be fairly easy to kill tooru as collateral damage, as pursuing or attempting to kill tooru or WOU itself is what activates it. If you have no idea who he is and he is collateral damage, WOU can't activate. It's the same concept as to why josuke didn't get caught by heavens door. Even though his eyes were pointing directly at the manga he wasn't LOOKING at it, so he wasn't affected by the ability.
However, WOU itself would persist
I was NOT expecting a Touhou Project mention (5:48), and especially with Kaguya Houraisan as the character for Omni-Immunity but yeah, her Hourai Immortality really just negates the whole concept of the calamity as a whole. Also, Touhou is ingrained with many themes of Buddhism and Shinto mythology, as well as many characters already serving as manipulators or embodiments of WHOLE CONCEPTS, such as traditional elements, items, time, space, dreams (dimensions), literal destruction, death, consciousness, or even specified ideas like purity, desires, or boundaries.
Really just adds to the whole mystique of this fantastic world... which also leads to some INCREDIBLY overpowered characters as a result of such a broad range of powers. Like for the character shown, Kaguya Houraisan, having the power to "manipulate Eternity and the Instantaneous", applies both concepts in a myriad of ways:
Manipulating eternity can make things unchanging, such as bamboo or buildings that never deteriorate with time, which is what ultimately led her on the Moon to liberating her OWN existence from the cycle of life and death, and thus, becoming truly immortal.
Manipulating the instantaneous is essentially controlling instants (Touhou calls them "femto's"), which can not only accelerate any process such as Bamboo growth to an instant (an infinitely small unit of time), but also make infinitely small "instants" (strings) that are so densely tied, they are physically impossible to break, which are called Femto Fibers. In TH 8, her final stage, Stage 6B, is an infinite corridor composed of infinite instances of space-time linked together she created, in Eientei, a house that doesn't abide by the laws of physics under Kaguya's spell.
So yeah, I'm so glad to see some Touhou recognition, and godspeed!
I don't know if the Hourai Elixir _negates_ Calamity per se. If you mean that it becomes irrevelant, I'm a bit more inclined to agree. I think it would certainly be an obstacle, but there's not a lot WoU can really do to _kill_ her.
Then again, we're speaking about Kaguya. When you consider the karma factor, it's likely that Mokou would actually suffer stronger effects considering her violent past. Again, low chance to kill, but I wouldn't be surprised if the calamities came in the form of, say, a sinkhole that results in her getting buried under several tons of dirt.
In both cases, I see various degrees of incapacitation.
Kaguya's power is really fun to think about.
I didn't have the examples you mentioned at the top of my head. They're really cool!
Personally, what comes to mind for me is something like the last minute before class ends and how it feels longer than it should.
I imagine something like the ability to draw something out forever. For example, someone tries to swing a punch, but you make that action an eternal, never-ending one. If it's eternal, it will never actually reach its "conclusion" as in "the moment the punch connects". A similar result to GER, I suppose.
That's purely speculation, of course.

i will say there is asterisks when it comes to the i'm not thinking of approaching you thing, it needs to be instant kill because (big spoiler) as we saw with kaato she had no intent but, she attacked tooru calamity still came to her at the end

The thing about wou is, that while you may be able to kill tooru like in the godzilla example, you wouldnt be able to kill wou. He needs to be taken out by a multiversal/outerversal level attack, otherwise he would just survive.

If not pursuing and delivering an AOE works as suggested, Killer Queen could prepare an entire area to explode before Wonder of U gets there, then detonate it from a distance. Kira wouldn’t be near the Stand, would head in a direction so as not to approach it, and the attack is an activation effect like Superfly.
I wonder what would happen if Mary Joestar and George both survived the crash? Would Dio be a better person due to a maternal figure?

Saitama only almost accidentally destroyed the Earth when he was going full power and was bloodlusted and clashing with Garou, nothing else existed to him at the time except for making the final wishes of that kid to be true.
Goku literally learns the ultimate God Ki control when him and Berrus almost destroyed the Macrocosm with their punches. Goku afterwards was barely able to damage tiles and rocks due to his immense control. We've also seen Goku sneeze and he just sneezes normally.
Maybe if we go by realistic logic, obviously those guys wouldn't be able to fully suppress their powers and then kill themselves by exploding and then destroying the planet or something but in verse, they will never ever have that ability.
@JolR9 pursuit in Wou's terms is just too broad tho, just aiming an attack in his direction or walking towards him without even realizing it counts as pursuit, and it doesn't really matter because Wou cannot ever be hit, it's against logic to ever land an attack on him, whether you meant to or not
What if we have a character who can mind control himself into forgetting about wonder of u and then controlling luck so that he unknowingly meets WOU and when he meets he remembers everything.
I say soft & wet go beyond is the strongest stand because it can nullify anything considered logic. So abilities like ger's power of zero and act 4's infinite, he can just say no to.
Not really, because GER is more versatile and nullifies the ability and will of his opponent.

Yeah but Giorno could also revert the will of the user. Josuke wouldn't create any bubble at all. That's why even his opponent not pursuing Giorno or anything that could harm him would be reverted without having intent or pursue. Unlike WoU that needs pursue or intent to activate calamity
Go: Beyond is just an ability, not the actual stand. Hypothetically if Go Beyond was a passive ability similar to Tusk then it may be more powerful but its attached just to the bubbles
Its still wild that the only 2 stands I feel like that can beat WOU (barring ofc Soft and Wet) are GER and Tusk Act 4
Maybe the World/Star Platinum The World, MiH, D4C with Love Train and Heavens Door can stand a chance but I'm not as certain about those
I think that wou doesn't manipulate calamity but the universe itself goes against the person who's persuing wou. Wou by itself doesn't knows what would happen to you as you're persuing wou. When mamezuku came as close as 1 inch to wou even wou said he doesn't knows what would happen to him now. It's as the universe itself goes against the person who's persuing wou.

It kind of feels like Wonder Of U works on string theory, since everything is connected it can sort of manipulate reality by pulling on the "threads" in some way that make up reality, resulting in a cascade of events that end positively for the stand and it's user.
It might have its power spread between the number of targets.
So the more people are after WoU, the less powerful it becomes, or the longer it takes to ramp up.
What I mean to say is that it cannot go too strongly after too many people at once, so it picks them off one by one.
I think that, like Josuke did, your best option is to try to get him to pursue you and lead him into some sort of trap. But even then he seems to be able to sense things like that, like he did with Josuke’s bubbles
tbf, Kaato was able to walk up to tooru and basically stun him without being hit by a calamity because she did not have any intention of harming tooru, it also seems like it doesnt protect him from harm it only fucks with the enemy so hard they dont really have a chance to attack him.
However if you faced him with a gun you could probably magdump him before getting hit by like, a fucking dropped knife.
Wonder of U vs D4C love train is literally a stalemate unless Valentine decides to exit his dimensional rift and even then we cannot say for a fact that valentines attack wouldn’t go through as the dimensional rift exists outside of logic like josukes spin.

Wonder of U for now is the STRONGEST STAND ever, but won't be anymore until the next main villain stand is revealed. If WoU is broken, someone soon will be more broken than him.

Wonder of U is truly a strange Stand.
On the one hand he’s next to unbeatable. On the other, if you really know what to do then he can be beaten easily.
All of the main villain’s stands throughout the Jojo series starting at Part 3 seem next to impossible to predict and beat at first. But as is the main hero’s purpose in the story; there’s always a way to be found!

I didn't know Kaleb was into touhou, I, myself being a touhou fan, I barely see anyone who even knows the name touhou outside of bad apple. Anyway, the issue with touhou characters being basically the same tier of power, as far as I know, ZUN(The creator of th) said he doesn't know where his characters lie in terms of actual power. An example is suika ibuki shattering the moon. I think that was supposed to be an actually big feat for the verse but we got people like yukari (my favorite) who somehow scale to hyperversal but ZUN doesn't know this.
Also, best the soundtrack IMO is immortal smoke reach the moon.

Wanna make stands in mutants and masterminds?
Sukuna fights Big Raga the Opp Stoppa, throws a WORLD SLASH without even noticing or seeing Wonder of you and happens to hit/slash/kill Wonder of U. The same way Sukuna bypassed Gojo's Infinity because the Slash was not detected as an attack OR intent to "target" him. Yeah, I am pulling out my hat for this.

Alright, job’s simple all youse gotta do is kill three hits.
The three hits: Tooru, Makima, and Daemon from Boruto.
With your Superfly example, I figured that Tooru could be beaten by... himself. Superfly could only work if he himself walked in (because if there's anyone trying to trick him they'd die - that's wishing malice upon Tooru) and something as large scale as a tsunami (can't swim as a rock human) could kill him. Then again, Jojolion was pretty explicit about the positive and negative energies and the flow of calamity. If Tooru actually controls the flow (even unconsciously) he could literally never get himself into an accident that would result in his harm, so my theory likely also wouldn't work.
