Hello everyone! I want to issue a small correction to something I said in the video: For now, I'm not releasing my video about Dr. Lisa Feldman Barrett's view of emotion (so the correction is that it will *not* be the next video I release). The reason is simple: I've realized that I don't fully understand her view, at least not well enough to make an in-depth video about it. I've read a lot of Dr. Barrett's work, including her popular books and a number of her published research papers, but upon watching a recent debate she had with Dr. Mark Solms (a Pankseppian neuroscientist of emotions), I realized that I still need to learn a lot before I feel comfortable discussing her theory. My current plan is to release such a video at some point in the future, though I'm not sure when. In its place, here is the link to that debate for anyone interested Barrett's "The Theory of Constructed Emotion" and how it contrasts with Panksepp's view: th-cam.com/video/9yEPHUKyBOM/w-d-xo.html
    Thank you for your time!

Hi again, I just wanted to reach out and let you know that I've decided, for now, to wait to release a video about Dr. Barrett's work (which I had mentioned in this video was going to be the next one I release). I explained my reasoning in more depth above (in the pinned comment on this video), but I just wanted to let you know personally. My apologies for the inconvenience! However, here is a debate that was published a few weeks ago between Drs. Lisa Feldman Barrett and Mark Solms, which is a great follow up to this video: th-cam.com/video/9yEPHUKyBOM/w-d-xo.html

You demonstrated in an incredible and didactic way all the regions that refer to the other systems, but you did not demonstrate the Play system. I remember you reporting that it was because PLAY was associated with multiple regions. However, I have a course to apply now on 10/28, I wouldn't be able to create this image related to the PLAY system. It would be of enormous help to me.

I have neither care, grief, nor lust. Makes sense if they are connected.

Thank you, mainly well done--and I wish you would have spent more time on the psychological aspects of the 7 emotional centers, although perhaps your focus is only on the physical neurology? Also, what you term the "GRIEF" brain should be termed PANIC/GRIEF (as in The Archaeology of MInd--I note you have it in parentheses) or PANIC/LOSS (my preferred to which I add GRIEF). Also, the PANIC/LOSS I consider needs to be understood in relation to the CARE brain which I do not think you did. I hope you might do another and go deeper into the 7 centers psychologically as well as neurologically, particularly the CARE and PANIC/LOSS brains.

I am very currious how these brain circuits also relate to the ANS and our threat responses?

What is the connection between lust and fear? or lust and rage?

    • @orbismworldbuilding8428

Well, those three are all high-arousal states

An unscientific opinion is that lust, anger and fear forms the Trinity of emotions aka primary emotions because the purpose of life basically depends on these emotions. Survival and procreation.

Thanks for your comment! I have not read up on this enough to give you a really good answer, but my understanding is that the connection between LUST and FEAR or LUST and RAGE is not necessarily direct, but they can interact and modulate each other's expression. For example, FEAR might inhibit LUST in certain situations, as a fearful state may not be conducive to mating behavior. On the other hand, LUST might modulate RAGE, as sexual competition can lead to aggressive behaviors in some species. It is important to note that these interactions are complex, and the specific outcomes depend on the context and individual/species differences.

Also what about the effect where something is frightening, leading it to be sexually appealing?

    Love is above emotions
Adam is created masculine in God image, above emotions, in perfect peace, with love and wisdom
The heavenly Father didn't create two emotional beings
Eve is life, nature, mother of all living, everything feminine and part Adam
After the fall, all born of the woman are feminine, emotional. This is why father or father figure are important. If not boys continue feminine into old age and most boys die of old age, feminine/emotional. Unable to lead themselves, their woman, their children, their family, their life.....the right way because emotions cloud judgment.
Emotional dudes are the reason for all hell on earth.
love is the basis for true knowledge and discernment, and that anything not seen through the eyes of love is distorted.
    God is love

So far you're just talking about 1 human, as if we are all equal, and personality traits, mental illnesses dont exist. The interesting part is, unfortunately, left out.

He specifies that there are disagreements as to how these things are established scientifically and that there are other ideas about form and function. I take a whole system approach, investigate the vagus nerve, investigate the mid brain, investigate the belief systems, investigate the environment. We are all responsible for sitting in presence, holding space for others and being empathic. If these things arent demonstrated in our environment we often do not learn core regulatory processes in conjunction to our bodies systems.

If presence, empathy and holding space are not demonstrated in early stages of life these processes of the vagus nerve, midbrain, sense of identity, mirroring functions, parasympathetic/sympathetic response, medulla oblongata and decision making.
