Congratulations, Harry, and welcome back to the Porsche family.
The seats are what they called at that time „Sportsitze“ and they were stock on the turbo S but also available as an option for the rest of 911 bunch. I have them in my 30th anniversary 911 (964) from 1993 (Jubiläumsmodell), too. I think those were the last 911 cars (they really built 911 of them) that have these special seats. In the 993 model there were also „Sportsitze“ available as an option, but they were of a different kind. The RUF wheels were also available at that time as a „Sonderwunsch“ from the factory. In the early nineties Porsche changed the name of the „Sonderwunsch“ department into „Tequipment“.

@@harrysgarage Check the date stamps on the wheels. They either have or don't have stamps on the back side, depending on who manufactured them. I haven't had RUF Speedlines, but other RUF wheels, and the wheels had year, and month denoted by dots. Congrats on purchase. Cheers.

PS. I just texted Kerry and this was his response, "One problem - I have no recollection of ever having owned it and fortunately no one has asked - for some reason my name gets attached and maybe I did the importation and that would have my name on it." The other cars like the 935s and GT1, I've seen before and know Kerry's connection. However, this 930S is something he's never mentioned in the past. Stunning and rare example. Congrats for the find. Enjoy. Lovely video as well....thank you for sharing.

its always amazing how many rare, obscure, not-well-documented versions of these older cars were made/exist. nowadays with the internet and the ubiquitization of in-house tuning companies stuff like this just doesnt really happen anymore i feel like!

My wife's grandfather was the head mechanic at a giant garage here in Germany (they had 150 mechanics at one point!) and they were a Mercedes specialist and tuner long before Mercedes had the parnership with AMG.
According to him they built the strangest things. Many of the rich and famous clients had quite extravagant tastes... but that's the thing, all these cars were unique and built to an extremely high standard. Just as good as the factory would have done it.
On the one hand it's great that we have such high standards for our (regular, from-factory) cars nowadays, on the other hand it's a bit sad we now rarely individualize them.

It will also have a stiffer wastegate spring to bring the boost up to a BAR compared with a normal 930 at .8 I believe. Those Rufs are period correct due to the stepped lips, later Rufs have smooth barrels. They'll either be 17/10 and 17/8 or some folks run a 17x9 up front. And if its correct the strakes in the side should be made of wood. Congrats.

You are at a much greater risk of an accident because you can’t see around cars for oncoming traffic. This Porsche was fully restored and the mileage has been reset so there is no argument for “purity” it was completely disassembled every screw has been messed with. Therefore this car should have no problem being switched to RHD and retaining its value as a rare anomaly.

When I spotted it in the thumbnail before clicking I thought it was a Ruf of some description. Truly hadn't heard of a 930-S! Very cool car.

Just stunning! I've always wanted an impact bumper 911 - a modest Carrera would do me, but they are now sliding further and further away sadly, price-wise. Very jealous Harry, enjoy!

Wow Harry, that has to be the sexiest 930 I've ever seen !
Great that you've got all three 80's icons in red !

This car once belonged to Freisinger Motrorsport, FIA WEC N-GT Champions in 2002, 2003, 2004. Am I really the only one who recognizes Manfred Freisinger´s name??? Unbelievable...

    Excellent job Mr M.
Another Harry's Garage video I wanted to see even before I clicked on the thumbnail.
    The Porsche is sensational!
Please leave it as is, RUF wheels and all.

That body style definitely holds up well today. I think if you drove it around most cities a lot of non-car people would think it's a new Porsche.

And the car-people as well, because nowadays noone can tell if its a restomod, since there are dozens of manufacturers...

Can't say I'm a fan of Porsches (Hell, back in the days when I read Evo, before Harry left it did my scone in watching them win car of the year every single year, year after year, like a needle getting stuck on a record!) but that sir is a lovely looking car.

Perhaps there a good reason they won year after year, just like on track.

Having one of those cars at home in a garage would be most peoples dream but to have them all in mind blowing
Your a very fortunate guy, a great video and I’d choose the Porsche

Congrats to the Turbo S Harry. May I add a personal taste note? Those black "mascara" rings on the headlight may be original but unfortunately not pretty. Can you get a set of guards red ones and store the black ones for the time being? Thank you in advance. :-D

At this point I just hate Porsche and JDM.
I'd rather have something unreliable, ugly, uncool, but I'd rather be building it myself and it's gonna be my way. But they really try hard to stop me. Everything is about "safety" and "standards". Britain had so many small custom car factories and people rather buy a mass produced Nissan or Porsche and call it a "restomod"... These past 2 years told me a lot about our society, so I'm not surprised.
