Tow Bar Install - Volvo XC60 TowBar Installation Review

In this video I show the installation and review of a Tow Trust towbar on a Volvo XC60. The wiring install including bypass relay can be found here: • TowBar Electrics 7 Way...
The procedure should be the same or similar on 2008 - 2016 models.
This includes rear bumper removal and modification and full tow bar installation. Also includes fitting the 7 pin electrical socket but not wiring it to the car electrics. I will cover the wiring in a follow up video.
I purchased the Tow Trust tow bar kit including the bypass electrics from Towbars Direct on Ebay. I have included a link below.
I phoned them before purchase to make sure I had identified the correct tow bar, and found them very helpful.

@@mar4elo999 Well as with anywhere I’m sure there are good and bad ones, they all sell on EBay and Amazon. I can vouch for the one I installed which I have linked in the description. It seems very robust and well made, with good welds. Looks to be reasonably well painted, time will tell. Just noticed the the main picture on the eBay link looks different to the one I have installed in the video, but if you scroll through the photos there is a parts drawing which is identical to the one I’ve used. I would just message them to make sure you have the correct one for your vehicle. Hope this helps.

Will be fitting one to my 2011 S60, assuming this will be mainly the same. Great video mate, looking forward to seeing the electric wiring as thats the bit im more concerned about

Thanks David, I’m not familiar with the S60 either but would expect they are similar in design or at least nothing you can’t work out. Just have to edit the footage I took wiring the electrics, will try and get it done soon.

What year is this Volvo? I have a 2014 xc60...will this work the same? Please.

Hi, the tow bar installation is on a 2011 XC60. The first generation of XC60s came out in 2008 and ran to 2016, so your car should be the same. From 2017 on they will be different but probably a similar procedure. So if your car looks the same as this one it should be just the same behind the bumper 😊 Hope this helps.
