Both twins took care of another kid, and Sukuna, like Yuji's grandpa, came to the conclusion that he could have chosen a different path instead of the one he chose. In both cases, their grumpy attitude never drove Yuji away. I think in the end, Sukuna reminded Yuji of his grandpa, and he was willing to live with Sukuna just like his grandpa, who had no one to love him besides Yuji. He can't stand the thought of leaving someone else to die in solitude because it's very personal to him, and he knows he could have ended up just like Sukuna if he didn't have his grandpa taking care of him.

Hiya again, With JJK having some relevance again through the epilogues and volume extras and the hate of the ending has somewhat subsided, I think its safe to state that in my opinion taking in his arc and role in throughout the story, sukuna has got be up there with the most goated villains. Especially due to the “Naturally, I Lost After All…” panel and the shinjuku showdown as a whole, like he has to be up there as (again, imo) top 5 new gen shounen villains and maybe even in the top 20 anime/manga villains of all time.
