I've tried the RCBS bullet feeding die, and it DOES Work with cast lead boolits, because I size them with my Lyman lubesizer. It Does Work IF you Size them~!

Use mine with Missouri bullet co hi-trek coated cast bullets and works flawlessly. Getting another for 9mm. Very pleased with mine.

    Part 2)
I was astounded at the $10 higher price. They said the difference is that the new one had "a bullet guide", but was still plastic!
So, anyway, I already had made mine work with, what I guess is a bullet guide of my own.
I dremeled inside of the plastic insert slightly, cut 3/4" of some half inch OD. 3/8" ID rigid tubing... sanded the feeding end to make transition smooth for boolits into it, and push it into the 5/8" tube...then into the die.
So, the cast boolits feed and drop well.

MotorcycleSniper, I'll describe how I did it, because don't have a camera yet to video..
But 1st, let me say that back when I 1st got the kit you have and made it work with cast boolits, I called RCBS asking why it didn't work with plated bullets and tubes they were selling. They said it was Not made for the tubes, it only would work with the tall metal setup with electric collator. And bullets wouldn't feed right with the tube...But they were making one that worked with there tubes for $37.

I have used this bullet feeder system for some time (years) if i find the soft spot on this darn thing it can work for some time, till it starts to hick up, either not feeding bullets or you get an avalanche of bullets. I am not to impress with this bullet feeding system. Also, adjusting the bullet head angle has only 3 position, not good, bad and worse. RCBS has an excellent service, so it is just to call whenever you need replacement parts, and they will ship it to you for free. I also dislike the primer feed system; you must keep this clean as f*&^ or it will start to screw up. Every 3-500 round and you have to make sure you blow out all crud, there is always some powder spillage and crud from the primer pockets, this creates problems for the primer feed system on a 2000. ( I have reloaded in the 100 000 of rounds on this press, so I have some experiance. )

12 years later and they still use the plastic collets. It comes in a big plastic tube now instead of a box. I still haven’t got a JHP to feed. But ima try until i get mad enough to say screw RCBS and get the new franklin x10 progressive and tell my wife it was the die’s fault.

The standalone die and tube set should be available by the first of March I was told by RCBS today. They are still finalizing packaging. I asked about pricing and the lady I spoke to didn't have know yet. I am going to guess around $50 msrp and $35 to $40 street. The die will have everything. I hope they pack extra collets. I am sending my die back to midway after I receive the replacement collets I tore up trying to get mine to work.

I ve not looked into the RCBS for some time now, but one, the design is poor for lead bullets and last, if the collets are still plastic and not metal, then without checking, I know it will not work out, by far I give hornady bullet feeder dies the thumbs up for both jacketed and if needed a little mods to the collets for cast lead bullets

Although they are caliber specific, Hornady all metal bullet feeder dies are much much better. I've had too many bullet failure to feeds with a properly adjusted RCBS die.

I have the same die and I reload 357 mag and 38sp with no problem with bullet feed. the only thing I found is it has to be cleaned every couple hundred rounds due to the powder lube hornady uses on their lead bullets.

@MotorcycleSniper thanks for the update, I have not looked into these dies anymore. Did RCBS stat if the new collets are metal or still plastic?

I size all my cast bullets as well with a magma/star lube sizer, but not sure how you get them to work unless you are sizing them the same diameter as a jacketed bullet which anyone knows thats asking for leading problems in your barrel...Please make a video along with bullets size details to show how you did it...Myself and other would like to know....

Since you have it - do you think the RCBS Bullet Feeder Die can be adapted to 7.62 / 308 bullets? The plastic is lame, but may be easier to work with. Maybe line it with aluminum to add the .7mm? Maybe 3D print a new collet?

I no longer have the RCBS bullet feeder dies, I will not be able to answer that question for you...sorry.

Just sand the inside diameter of the plastic out.

Dennis S Trust me, these companies check out TH-cam for ideas..even hornady has a bullet feeder tubes that look alot like the ones I made in my other videos years before they did..chances are thats where the idea came, I'm ok with it..I dont have a patient on them or manufacture them for sale.
