- I install an android headunit in a Mercedes D2B in this video. The android headunit was purchased from Seicane. I install this on my W220 S Class that is pre-facelift. Most tutorials out there show how this is done on a MOST system. Although being done on an S Class, this tutorial is true for any D2B car. I show you how this is done on a D2B fiber optic system. We also retain factory canbus functionality.

I have an 06 S Class and have been having a hard time getting a Joying unit installed. So my understanding is that the Decoder box handles the sound and the head unit just needs to get a power source to work. I was able to tap into power from the wires from the stock unit but for some reason neither the Decoder Box nor the Head unit power up. Have you encountered this issue?
When I put the old unit back in it fired right up so I am hella confused man. I would be willing to pay you for your time if you require! I've been getting some ridiculous pricing from local shops since they do not want to touch it.
I also have a pre facelift 220. Does this Seicane model communicate with your instrument clusters multifunction display? My original nav system works and the multifunction display gives map information so your not looking at the head unit. I want to purchase this seicane unit but my only hang up is figuring out whether it communicates with the multifunction display or not.

Did you disconnect your CD Changer LWL? Because the loop will be open Without Original Comand that communicates With CD/Telephone?
@sunny.visions ... I have a 1999 w220, the thing is when I got the car the previous owner had already installed an Android head unit in it, the speakers work totally fine, but for some reason the oem subwoofer doesn't work with it, I don't know what can be the issue,

I bought similar android headunit and d2b decoder box for a c32 w203. No sound! I need to connect the blue d2b wake up wire - i saw your screenshot saying 'needs to connect to this factory pin'. Pls can you confirm which pin and what colour is the factory wire? I have the same factory plug - assume this is to wake up the bose amp?
Hey wassup man, I used the same wires you have, power and ground. Plus the other d2b wake up and my units not turning on. Well technically it dies but you need a flashlight to be able to see the screen and it shuts off after 2 minutes or so. Any ideas??

Please help! So, I have 2003 Mercedes s55 (the D2B system). So I bought the same android head unit, and D2B fiber optic box, but once everything is wired up, NO SOUND. I keep reading that I need to "loop or bypass" the CD changer and the PSE factory phone system, but I don't know exactly what that means... can someone please walk me through how to do that? So sound will come out... I've taken the car to two different audio installation company is getting billed $100 per hour, and they keep telling me that they can't do it and I need to put in an aftermarket amp and I should change out to a different head unit. Please help walk me through how to bypass
Hey did you only have to bypass the cd change And everything works good now? or did Did you have to bypass the cellphone module as well?
My car doesnt have the cellphone module so only the the cd changer. If u have both then i think you have to bypass both but dont quote me on that lol

Hey man great video, I’m having some problems wiring the radio up it’s a similar kind to yours but whenever I try to get sound to come out there’s none and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I have the d2b wake-up on pin 10 and everything else hooked up. Just not sure what to do
Did you loop the fibre optic to bypass the cd changer?

@@SunnyVisions alright so I looped the fiber optic to the cd changer and found out my d2b wake up is pin 7 now I’m wondering do I have to have my canbus connected because it’s not
@@HlDEME canbus is just for the steering wheel controls so you should be fine. Did u use that little plastic part to loop the fibre optic? The teal wire is the d2b wakeup. How did you figure out it was pin 7 for your vehicle?
@@SunnyVisions so I found out you don’t need the plastic piece to loop the cd changer you just remove the whole cable that’s goes from the cd to the amp, and yes the blue wire went into pin 7 because my radio was a command 2.5 and not a 2.0 they are very similar but on the harness where yours went into 10 I had no wires there and it was 7 for me
I'm so confused.. how tf did you connect the canbus? I HAVE A SEICANE and can't figure it out.. any links you can direct me to for some in depth knowledge 🤷♂️🤯
Finally! And im from canada too with a W220 lol, are you able to email me or just tell me here how did you wire up the d2b wake up? I went into that pin (7) i think and it blew my amp so its not working, anyways I subscribed!
You sure you blew ur amp? You have to bypass it with part #000-545-33-84. I realized that after the video lol cuz the amp cuts out. Also the pin you use for the wakeup is 10 on that harness, the one in the top corner
@@SunnyVisions yup I used that part to bypass the cd changer but not the amp, guess that was my mistake? 😂 and yes my bad it was pin (10) i went into, did you splice into the wire or just wired a pin into the other side? I’m so close to making it work and your setup is the most similar to mine aha
@@garagenextdoor807 i meant cd changer lmao. I used a pin and put it in the factory harness. I dont know which wire is the d2b wakeup but the pin was really loose. Maybe try pin 1 cuz thats also a wakeup

@@garagenextdoor807 yes if u want audio, but u can technically wire straight to the speakers (sounds like shit) or have an aftermarket amp (a lot of work). No worries about the questions
