I have this movie on VHS and DVD. On this scene they skipped a part where Lenny tells Bobby my mom said to tell you thank you for saving me. Did yall know each other Lenny asked Bobby
I CAN DEFINITELY RELATE. THIS PART CHOKES ME UP AND RELEASES TEARS OUT MY EYES. THIS MOVIE FOREVER LIVES IN MY HEART JUST AS MY GUARDIAN ANGEL IS WITH ME FOREVER. I MISS MY POPS DEARLY AND I KNOW HE IS WITH ME WHEREVER I MAY ROAM. +EARTH'S CRY HEAVEN'S SMILE+❤🔥🙏🕍
i love this movie. it's like highway to heaven meets back to the future. i lost my brother in a car accident and this is for all the ones who lost loved ones too, don't worry they are all on uptown too..
I'm sorry. I also lost a brother in a car accident. Big whole in my heart. I know he smiles down in me and is my guardian angel. Hope we all will make it uptown.
The ending is very powerful, hopefully we all go uptown in eternal peace. The heavenly kid was choked up going up the escalator because God gave him a chance to redeem himself, way to go heavenly kid, way to go! Hey he got it covered! Great film 10 out of 10 storytelling and inspirational ending scene.
I guess the assumption was that Bobby wasn't going to change when he got older, they got that dead wrong(pardon the pun),I don't think Bobby would've stuck to his old tropes, like Emily he would changed. He said it himself, cause he died young he missed out on alot of things in life. That why he risked everything for Lenny,to give him the chance to live life to the fullest. The chance he never got
I agree, it's an emotional and great ending. You can see in his face while he is going up the escalator thinking "This is the beginning of my life in eternal peace." I was tearing with emotional joy for him that he made it UPPPP TOWNNN! 🥂👍👍😎
It's too bad that Bobby wasn't able to be his biological father. He became Lenny's guardian angel and will watching over him. The next time they would most likely meet would be in heaven
I think that one point that this movie emphasizes is how precious life is, how quickly life goes by, and how quickly one's life can end. I think that one message that could come from a movie like this is to enjoy every day of your life as much as you can
He was willing to spend eternity in hell to save his son's life even though he knew his son was going to heaven. He wanted his son to live a full life. Something he didn't get a chance at. He didn't know that he was given a chance to redeem himself.
When my cousin died theres a picture of him walking up the stairs. My mom told me hes in uptown. I never called it heaven ever since. Fell in love with this movie at the age of 7
WOW!!! I was thinking about Rafferty and for some reason thought he was in the Bill & Ted's movies, was searching for ages until I finally came across this gem of a movie,I watched this SOOOO many times as a kid and loved it every time, definitely makes you think and the ending gets me everytime,...I haven't seen it in over 20 years now (I'm 47) so definitely gotta watch it in thr next few days 👌🏾
He managed to do one smart thing by taking the bracelet off, but the important concept of using the damn brakes to stop the car seems to have slipped his mind. Still a good movie
When it's my time, I hope that's the way I go, on a motorcycle flying up and disappearing into the clouds. Timeless classic here, typical of movies from the 80s
For Bobby to find out that Lenny is his son and Rafferty showing his name on the list to be going uptown was crazy after he found out that Lenny is Bobby’s son he had to do something to save him from the same fate of what happened to himself.
@@trentsteel1542Well, we don't have an Uptown station so I think he's going for Midtown. That one's a few stations north, he's gonna have to hop back on a northbound Red or Gold line train. The escalator will be a bit shorter there though!
Thanks for uploading this! I remember seeing it as a kid but could only remember Bobby’s crash and then him and raff going up on the motorcycle! Didn’t even remember Lenny’s crash! Lol
This is a Deja vu moment, because this is how the movie starts but the only difference is Lenny doesn't die unlike his biological father Bobby did at the beginning
This is one of the best movies I've ever seen in my life. And I'm not a fake. I'm not someone who would lie about what I just said.... This movie really makes you think about how short and how fragile life really is... Once dead.... Always dead.... You can't turn back.
It's amazing how much movies represent certain parts of our own lives and then the memories they bring back. I saw this movie when it first came out, which was during the summer before I started high school. I may not have been the healthiest or the most well adjusted young girl at that time in my life, but seeing movies like these still allowed for some good times during my not so healthy youth. Thank God for the good times that we do still have in our lives, despite all the problems.
this scene reminds me to check my car everyday and not to wear wrist watches and other crap when driving. Never know when i need to jump out of a moving car. :P
I got stuck in Atlanta a few years ago. A random stranger told me I should go check out the huge escelator in the subway. I did. And It reminded me of this movie. Just found out It was the same escelator! 😀 come to think of it, dude looked a lot like that motorcycle guy 😮
I remember when I watched this movie. I was all by myself. And I loved it I watch it a few times. This is one of my favorite one. I watch it every time I see it. Another one is Heart, Soak I can't remember all of it. But it's the one where 4 ghost are stuck with the kid till he helps them get to go to heaven. This movie is sad butt it is a good one. The kids now a days need to watch it. It teaches alot. There is sad parts but I love it. Another one is ghost.
This movie came out in 1985. This was a favorite movie of an old girlfriend and mine. We'll earlier this year she got in contact with me again. I said, do you remember Climbing the Heart Of Love. She said I will never forget that song and that movie. We are both divorced and in our 50's. She is trying to plan to see me. But, I got it Covered !!. 😎😎
thanks for uploading this movie was awesome. i almost got all teary eyed at a few parts. havent seen it in a long long time. i also noticed that the mom is the mom from melcom in the middle.
Great movie. Glad everything turned out fine. As far as Fred Gallo, his girlfriend Sharon, and McIntyre goes. It looks like they'll be restored back to their same normal terrible old selves. Who knows maybe they'll be a little bít wiser.
It's not like you can say.. okay I'm tired of this dead stuff.... No... When you're dead you're dead. There's no return. Please remember that when you watch this
If it was me i would have check the door because both those guys wanted lenny dead that is why the door stuck close plus the other guy said we need to do something special
Kinda racist as I recall after I got the the end of that escelator. I must have been threatened 3 times in one night just for being white. First and last time I'll ever go to Atlanta. I got stuck at the airport and decided to take the train downtown. Which is where that exact escelator literally goes 🤣
1980s movies knew how to make tears and hit you in the heart! Especially the ending.
I personally think this movie has one of the most uplifting ending credit sequences ever!! Love this movie :)
The song really makes this the winner it is.
I agree completely.
Very true
The perfect end credits song to a movie does exist!
I have this movie on VHS and DVD. On this scene they skipped a part where Lenny tells Bobby my mom said to tell you thank you for saving me. Did yall know each other Lenny asked Bobby
This movie is so under rated- great great movie! I love it long live the 80s- i got it covered!

One of the most underrated films of the 1980s.
The word "underrated" is thrown around alot on TH-cam, but in regards to this movie, I 100% agree. Classic 80s right here 👌
i love this movie. it's like highway to heaven meets back to the future. i lost my brother in a car accident and this is for all the ones who lost loved ones too, don't worry they are all on uptown too..

One of the best ending credits ever and soundtracks ever. Still and always will be my favorite movie !❤
Awesome movie, I grew with this movie

+Neftali Rivera Jr Agreed, was kinda sad that Bobby and Emily got to see each other again but knew they could never be together.
True
Whn Bobby says goodbye to son and hugs him for the first and final time I was crying, I loved the long escaltoir ride at the end
I agree, it's an emotional and great ending. You can see in his face while he is going up the escalator thinking "This is the beginning of my life in eternal peace." I was tearing with emotional joy for him that he made it UPPPP TOWNNN! 🥂👍👍😎
What made it even more emotional well for me was he knew Lenny was his son but couldn't tell him that
It's too bad that Bobby wasn't able to be his biological father. He became Lenny's guardian angel and will watching over him. The next time they would most likely meet would be in heaven
I love this movie. Even the ending credits are awesome. It's sad they don't make films like this anymore.
Same
Same here too
I think that one point that this movie emphasizes is how precious life is, how quickly life goes by, and how quickly one's life can end. I think that one message that could come from a movie like this is to enjoy every day of your life as much as you can
This movie was and is so special to me, it really shows just how I have always felt and when god was still in movies.
loved this movie.... "Onnnn Myyyyy Wayyyyy" i think this song really made the movie that much better though. good choice.
i agree they don't make movies like these, i love this movie.
One of my favorite movies, the ending is beautiful...
He was willing to spend eternity in hell to save his son's life even though he knew his son was going to heaven. He wanted his son to live a full life. Something he didn't get a chance at. He didn't know that he was given a chance to redeem himself.
Man i loved this movie as a kid! Still good!
2021 and still love this movie
Born in 1992, but I fucking love 70's-80's movies!! The best!
I hadn't seen his movie in about 15 or 20 years, and it was still just as good as the first 100 times I saw it!!
Makes think about all the loved you lost. I hope I get see my grandparents again some day.
I've seen my grandfathers ghost many times, I can't wait to share a cigarette with him
one of my favorite movies of the 80s,like this movies :-) :-),10 thumbs up.

Lewis my friend, you need to make more movies for your an awesome actor.
Such a versatile actor. He was the charming, uplifting Heavenly Kid yet also nailed it as the stupid and irresponsible Stuckey in Southern Comfort.
"I got it covered"
He managed to do one smart thing by taking the bracelet off, but the important concept of using the damn brakes to stop the car seems to have slipped his mind. Still a good movie
JMP78 in chicken Races the brakes are usually cut
i thought about my dad in this scene.
tanya marinelli can I please ask why you thought of your father, please don’t if don’t want to for whatever reason.
It's sad. Bobby went on without Lenny ever learning how he really was. But his mom would tell him. This movie's awesome.
She might tell him one day maybe
I always liked to think that they ended up having a talk about him and then she told him
I loved this movie and still do!
When it's my time, I hope that's the way I go, on a motorcycle flying up and disappearing into the clouds. Timeless classic here, typical of movies from the 80s

Awesome feeling flying out and saying goodbye knowing u going to heaven... forever...
Love this movie they should bring it back I'm 72 n still remember it
thank you so much for posting! i haven't seen this since the early 80's!
Seeing the kid makes me want to watch Iron Eagle 😀
Would've liked it if the credit sequence kept going until he reached Uptown.
I think they already used the longest elevator in existence. lol
@@jeffo9396 Yeah, the Peachtree Center escalator in Atlanta, GA, my hometown.
Technically downtown Atlanta 🤣

funny you see it like that.. its the same as I was 9 years old and now Iam 36 but it has more of a meaning and thank go for it.
My thoughts exactly. Watched it when I was ten. And now again at 41. 30 years later.... makes me realize what is really important.

5 people are not going Uptown
Yep - a LOT of changes!
The Truth They're stuck at Midtown
trustobey1016 to hell with that. They’re going downtown
My childhood restored.
I remember saying it as a kid and saying it now...why even jump out of the car when you can just hit the brakes?
Because in a Gut Race the brakes were disabled.
its a gut race there are no brakes thats why they have the crappy cars set up and not doing the race in their regular commute cars
Gotcha
And steering is locked too I guess and no ignition switch either 😅things you think 30 yrs later.lol
I would love to be able to help people in the afterlife forever and have pitstops in midtown.
