I love how effortlessly Guy sits down with us for a half hour and turns out a really beautiful, catchy, epic clip. I just love these videos. Also, nicely done NI for the factory sounds! They’re stellar.
Guy I appreciate your candor and humility. Seeing someone as skilled and confident and experienced as you struggle to keep in time with percussion honestly really helps me, because I struggle with that as well. You and your channel make my dream of creating music feel achievable, and for that I thank you.
Guy, I’ve been watching your videos since the beginning of the global pandemic. I just had to reach out and comment to say thank you. There are these deeply frustrating times where I feel I have little to no talent as I sit for hours producing nothing. Spinning my wheels and feeling like I’ve missed something. Watching videos where perhaps I learn some information but I come away not understanding why it seems so easy for these musicians. Feeling Overwhelmed I rage quit for a week until the NEED to make music is an itch I have to scratch. To get that high only the creative process sometimes graciously allows. I say thank you today because out of all the endless content I can consume around the subject I feel that you are the most honest relatable teacher. You inspire me to create with your genuine enthusiasm. I find you endearing as you don’t sand down your own rough edges for the sake of making a “perfect”video and commit to it flaws and all. It honestly makes me feel not so alone and provides much needed perspective along this musical journey I’ve embarked on for better or worse. You are often a highlight of my day so thank you and never change. :)
You've found the secret... hearing is the inspiration, hear what's good, catch vibes without copying phrases, try to create musical themes on your mind... a simple phrase can become a nice song with 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration!!
Proud to have participated in the creation of the Factory Library. In addition to some old guitars and basses, already included in the previous library, now there is my FunkyBass, AcousticGuitar, the ClassicGuitar samples, and other stuff. I provided the samples and Native Instruments created the patches. Not having Kontakt 7 yet I have no idea how they sound but I'm sure a good job has been done. Greetings, Andrea
Guy - I put your channel in my top 3 'must watch'es. I'm essentially the same age as you (I think you were 9 months old when I was born), and I feel like my best musical years are still ahead of me. I'm still on the fence on whether to upgrade to K14CE from 13CE is truly worth it. Slowly throughout the months I've purchased most of the new VST modules individually from NI. These same modules are now what's included in K14CE. I believe I'm only missing a few but I would've purchased them outright if they interested me. May I ask what made you take the plunge and upgrade for the 600.00USD (loyalty discount) to go to K14CE?
@@Bronwyn031 well, I had not bought any of the libraries/expansions/etc. that NI added to K14UCE vs K13U (except for Picked Nylon), so the $600 was worth it for me. You forgot to mention, hidpi is available ONLY IF the library has it. You use in your demonstration Factory Library 2 which has, but most 3rd party libraries doesn’t.
I got the package one down from yours, and I am very happy with the sheer range of sounds and effects on offer. Native Access 2 is a bit twitchy for me. That browser acts up quite a lot, forgetting how to preview stuff / refusing to show me all of the libraries etc. Kontakt 7…well so far I don't see a whole lot of difference. I certainly can't *hear* any difference. The much-trumpeted hi def graphics aren't really that big an improvement, you can't resize the window beyond a certain arbitrarily-determined point for example. Load times are no better either. Only difference now is, it's loading in the background which means that you're often missing round robins etc as you're tooling around wondering whether this is the right sound. And when it comes to routing drum kits to separate outputs for mixing, well… let's say it's a good thing they've upgraded the onboard effects. It's still really fiddly. But, yeah. Overall I can see a lot of people buying this and really not needing any expensive third-party add-ons for a while… if ever!
Great video - very helpful. Could you please share the amount of HD space taken up by factory library 2? Can’t find the info on NI website as yet. Thanks.

@Martin Major I found it!! Kontakt 7 Player just released, and Under Settings>Loading you can now untick the toggle "Ask for confirmation when replacing modified instrument"
@Martin Major Nope :) I made this video you can watch th-cam.com/video/nI5O3GbwFoM/w-d-xo.html
What else can you expect from devs that set away the master volume knob?
Don’t say it’s the default, and cheesey Guy, I’m taking notes assiduously over ‘ere! Good stuff.
good to see you back in Cubase
Why?
@@tronam because I've picked up quite a few tips from some of Guys videos.
I love your videos. Thank you for your tutorials! They really help me!
Glad you like them!

this reminds of the exciting part of a 90's movie.

Good show, Guy.

Roland Emmerich and Michael Bay just got 15 new blockbuster ideas after listening to this little score piece.

6:52 Small correction, thats not HiPDI or scalable, it's just the same as before, the only HiDPI instrument is Omnia and the Browser.
OK thats true thank you
@@ThinkSpaceEducation No prob! Love your channel, keep it up! 👍
Yes, I have a 60K AR VR monitor with extra zebravision. How did you know?
The zebra told him
@@DarkSideofSynth Damnnit. I knew i shouldn't have trusted that zebra bastard.

Was waiting for 14 to upgrade from 12 collector’s edition. I will now wait for summer of sound :)
I got the collectors edition upgrade yesterday and it’s great although the new Native Access 2 wouldn’t download into my Mac studio so I had to reinstall the old Native Access. Otherwise it runs really well.
Have you upgraded your camera? Thanks for your content!

You forgot to mention, hidpi is available ONLY IF the library has it. You use in your demonstration Factory Library 2 which has, but most 3rd party libraries doesn’t.
Guy M: undisputed king of self criticism! 😂
Yes! Thx, just the video i wished you make next. :D
Thanks Mr. Michelmore!
Thanks.
