    So is it the grommet or the fabric slot for front canopy? I have the skycamp 3.0 4 person.

    Please tell me where to put the iKemper on the roof rack and where to place the bracket.

      Hey there - try to center your iKamper tent on your rack if possible! There's a lot of flexibility on where it can be mounted, so try a few configurations that look best to you.

      If you make a gantry to lift it yes. But the thing weighs 130 lbs…I think Min you need two people that can press 65 lbs over their heads from the ground without dropping it on your car.

    Can you install a ikamper on a vehicle and later move to the other vehicle?

    • @ikampertech
      @ikampertech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, all of our tents can be just as easily uninstalled! We've seen plenty of folks that swap vehicles or even just take their iKamper off for storage during the winter months.

    It does not have any mesh? So when the windows are open and the frontdoor bugs can easily go in?

    Wanted to buy but ran into two issues.
    Mini is kinda small even for a mini, 50.5” I think.
    Mattress is a joke for what the unit costs. I shouldn’t have to pay for add-on products for the most fundamental aspects of the tent. As a side sleeper I was warned off of iKamper without upgraded mattress.
    Finally, make an intermediate size imho for 6 foot beds! That would have maybe pushed me over the edge.
    I ended up getting a Roam Vagabond with the vestibule, weather liner, lighting system, camp mat, mattress sheet for ~$1000 less than the iKamper Mini. Will miss the super fast setup but that’s probably it.

      Meanwhile, I’m fed up with my Vagabond and planning to get this tent

    • @JamesReedy
      @JamesReedy 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@trevorsmith4597 what’s your issue with the vagabond? Mine showed up damaged in shipping, it’s minor cosmetic damage but damage all the same. They offered me $500 to keep it but I said let’s go ahead and replace it.
      What didn’t you like? The iKamper is nearly 5 inches narrower and the mattress is categorically trash for thousands more and $200 in shipping. Inquiring minds wanna know…

      @@JamesReedy Mine is from 2020 but the hardware it came with bound up when installing. Then the rain fly gave out due to rubbing while closed. Bolts loosened up quite a bit which is minor. Paint rubbing off the bottom side. Recently the zippers have broken on the cover.
      I should say, I drive off road a lot with it. Very bumpy trails in the Rockies so I am tough on it.
      $500 is quite a bit off. Despite the issues I think I’d be tempted for that price because: They always have fixed things for me. I will say they always went above and beyond to make it right.
      For what it’s worth, my opinion is the mattresses on all of these feel nearly identical, but the roam might have an edge. What didn’t you like about the ikamper one?

    • @JamesReedy
      @JamesReedy 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@trevorsmith4597 full disclosure, never laid on the iKamper but just looking at the two and hearing reviews most peeps say if you’re a side sleeper the iKamper mattress is miserable. I mean honestly it looks like the cheapest of the cheap egg crate with, “zones” that are meaningless marketing wank to make you think you’re getting something good.
      The inflatable mattress they offer looks promising but there goes another $350-400. I’d also want the non-gloss pebbled finish so there goes another whatever that costs.
      I was set on the iKamper cause it looks extremely tidy. No futzing and faffing with zippers and covers and other BS. Part of me still wants it but it is a breathtaking amount of money for what it is. Esp when you consider to get it where I’d want it it’d cost even more. I got the roam with vestibule, cold weather liner, and some other crap for heaps less than the iKamper. Suppose if I don’t like it I can sell the Vagabond and buy an iKamper. If it was just me and not me and my kid I’d be more tempted by iKamper as it’s more than ample for 1, looks very cozy for 2 in a way vagabond doesn’t appear to be.
