The sound of propellers depends to a large extent on the shape of the tip of the propeller. A sharpened propeller tip results in a lower sound. In order to keep the buoyancy the same, the propeller surface must be increased further away from the tip of the propeller, or a propeller with a pointed end with several wings must be used.
I tried to put on those same exact props on mine and stopped because the screws were so short. I ordered some M1.2x 4 bolts from Amazon that I'm waiting on. Hopefully, they work. I didn't think to do what you did to accommodate the shorter screws. It's definitely less annoying with the after-market props.
I followed your instructions and drilled the top hole so the screw can fit the bottom hole. However, I noticed that the screw is a bit too long and the props are a bit loose. Can you help me fix this?
@@RCsbyRich I'm testing the 4 blade. The others just prepared, not yet installed. The 4ers are a little quieter and have deeper pitch. Very similar everything, probably a little slower. 1-1.5 km/h. But looks much better, the 4ers are light blue, the 5ers are yellow and rhe 6ers tinted transparent.
just follow the orientation of the stock props and whatever you put on the upper left will be the same on lower right meanwhile the upper right will be the same on the lower left.
@@RCsbyRich nope. you need a clockwise and counterclockwise pairs of props. if you just flip it over, it will change direction and pitch for the inverted props. it will not fly correctly.
@vernelfpv yes I see know. I just took them out of the packet and there are a set they have a hexagon on the top and circle shape on the bottom of the centres.
@@RCsbyRich you probably got 8pcs of props. what I try to do is look at one of the blades in the props. there should be D51-5R and D51-5 embossed on it. in my case, if the Neo's camera is facing up, the D51-5R should be on the top left and bottom right motor. the D51-5 is in the top right and bottom left motor.
@@vernelfpv very good you are smart and have experience! I have noticed that DJI Factory has hit or miss quality ! Some propellers just break midflight
actually there are a lot of factors that will affect the sound like pitch. sometimes the props will not necessarily make the sound quieter, but rather it will lower down the pitch which is tolerable for us humans. I think you should check this video th-cam.com/video/c-fNCb2ZXmY/w-d-xo.html

I don't think you need to drill the top hole, I just got screws mentioned online ( M1.2 x 6mm ) seems the are long enough to fit ! Will try them today
glad that worked. i don't have a 6mm here unfortunately
5mm works great

It's still too short, should use M1.2 x 6 bolts
@@ianputra8581 dang now you tell me. 🤣 Hope I can return the set when I get it. Where did you get your M1.2x6 screws from?
@@StrillLife I don't know, I bought it from a local seller in my country
@@ianputra8581 thanks for the reply. I think I found the correct ones on Amazon

how about battery life? Is it affected in any way?
Yes less 3 minutes cuz its 6 grams heavier
I reckon 4 blade be ideal between the 3 and 5 blade

Did you use a thicker screw driver than the stock? How deep is your hole now?
Thank you Kuya! I will be using these for my Neo.
yeah I will be using it as well
how about emax avan 4 blades bro? did you try it?
I don't have the emax avan 4 blades so I cannot test it
I use the 4 blade. Better, than original. I also have this 5 blade what you have and 6 blade hqprop 51mmx6.
my 4 blade is still not arriving soon. still stuck in vietnam
@@vernelfpv i hope you get them soon. I'm western european, got them within a few fays. I use gemfans on my other drone too. Good propellers.
Do you see any difference in 4,5 or 6 blade ? Sound, thrust, flight time etc?

nice adapt until the right ones arrive
yeah. just need to adapt
Are the Gemfan generic blade orientation so the can be used for either corner 🤔
just follow the orientation of the stock props and whatever you put on the upper left will be the same on lower right meanwhile the upper right will be the same on the lower left.
@vernelfpv yes but are each prop able to use inner and outer by just flipping them over

are those better quality ? My brand new DJI propellers one broke off mid flight and crashed the drone :(
gemfan is a good brand of propeller for FPV Drones. I have been using for a couple of years already together with HQProps.

thank you brother
Acha melhor com elas ? Do que a originais ?
I prefer them than stock. But it’s just me
how good of a quality is that brand ?
It is a good propeller brand for fpv drone
Do the motors get hot after a full battery flight?
it gets a bit warm with the 5 Blades. I will also test when the 4 Blades arrive
If 5 blades are quieter than 3, then wouldn't 4 be quieter than 3 but louder than 5?

1:56 Yeah it's not as loud as the stock propellers.
Any truth to the info that the motors will get burnt when using these aftermarket props?
I'm not yet sure as I haven't experienced a burnt motor. I will further test when the 4-Blades arrive although it gets a bit warm with the 5 Blades.
51mm ba ang size ng Gemfan D-51, bro? 🤔
yup 51mm or 2 inches
Idol d kaya mas Lalo bumagal ang lipad pa 5 na yong propeller ng neo
Mas mataas ang drag pero mas maganda handling.

Glad it was helpful!

check mo kung magagamit mo pa yung reserved na stock screw. or hindi mo ba matanggal sa pagkakascrew?
