THIS is how you incorporate more supernatural-esque elements into Assassin's Creed, without having it appear disjointed from the rest of the franchise. TAKE NOTES QUEBEC, TAKE NOTES.
@@Cyrex_XIII the reason it got a pass was it was fun and it was a dlc seperate from the main game so it's more detached, doing this in the base game would have seen more backlash
I bloody knew it, when I first bought the season pass for this game I was luckily able to play both expansions at my own pace but, I always suspected that Curse of the Pharaohs happened prior to the Hidden Ones DLC. Glad to know I was correct I guess.
1. Great video 2. It’s before The Hidden Ones?? What?? Doesn’t THO take place four years after the main game? If this is four years after and two years before THO then THO would be six years after the main game. But before you start THO the game tells you it’s four years after. I know Amunet says this is also four years after, but I just thought that meant it was a bit after THO, just in that same year. Where’d you get that this is before THO?
Well COTP takes place after 4 years of the main game which it ended on 43 BCE, so that means 39 BCE where this expansion took place. THO started on 38 BCE. I would say more or less but i could be wrong who knows.
its illusions, i think its said in the novels that bayek questioned his religion after he found out the afterlives are just illusions created by the apple
Basically, it was established in the main game of Origins that the Isu use Silica in order to conduct the energy from the pieces of Eden, sort of the same way copper wiring is used to conduct electricity from one house to another. So the apple here is being used to instil fear into the surrounding area. Silica is found in the tombs of the pharaohs in high concentration, and it’s also being handed out among the populace. So it’s sort of this continuous feedback of fear and superstition that originated from these high concentrations of silica in the tombs of the pharaohs. And all of that is being controlled by the Apple. So everything is purely illusion that is willing these things into existence. Back in AC3 Juno mentions how the Apple has the power to create things if the power of many human minds are used at once. That’s why the templars wanted to use the satellite launch in the modern day with the Apple because they’d have the whole planet’s brain power.
Yeah thats very true im afraid that Ubisoft wont put all that ammount of effort into their next game, dlcs idk maybe they wanted to make this game amazing which they did just to revive the series but i really hope they do this well on next gsnes
There actually people from past missions from the main game that you can talk to around the cities. I remembered esio and he was there all grown up now
Hey LazerzZ---Great review. It just made me feel even more enthusiastic for a Bayek sequel than before. Thanks for that. And I so totally agree with you about the characters. Bayek needs much better supporting characters like Ezio had during his run.
Supporting characters that can be expanded on a sequel or trilogy like: Hidden Ones: Kawab Paanchi Maqwat Osorkon Zagura Shaqilat Kashta Other Hidden Ones: Phoxidas Pashremptah Phanos Potential Recruits: Theodorus Namrut Rahotep Praxilla Diocles Vitrivius Hotephres Khenut
I agree, my time on assassins creed origins went from 75 hours to 90. It’s was so wonderful and awesome I couldn’t stop playing. I would say that for hidden ones but it was extremely quick. Not to brag or anything but I 100% completed both DLCs and soon I’ll try out nightmare mode. ANYWAY I’m so ready for a sequel in Greece or something... What does everyone else think?
FlynnSucks I think there myt be 2 sequels or 2 really big DLC's coming. 1 in Greece and Rome and the other in Judea. Where the ending will be hiding the apple of Eden in Solomon's Temple.
The whole main games for ac odyssey isn’t even close to beating this dlc so how are people gonna compare odyssey aka The joke game to origins aka masterpiece
This certainly made things interesting, since somehow, we managed to enter the Afterlife (unless it was an illusion all-together) and bringing in an Apple that can somehow re-animate dead bodies (like the Ankh and Shroud just differently) and then it mysteriously disappears. Yeah, Bayek's going to milked in another game just like Ezio was milked for three games.
Sadly it is i kinda want to see a new dlc (or a sequel) where a older and more experienced bayek go to rome and try to find the piece of eden and also hunt the order of the ancients
Them bringing in afterlife's and real life curses into a game perfectly, it didn't feel like it was in your face, it was nice. And it was also nice for people learn a bit more about the Egyptian afterlife's and One of the four well known Pharaohs.
I finished Hidden Ones today. Liked it a lot. Now looking forward to the Curse of the Pharaohs. I remember reinstalling AC Origins because i did not have COTP added. Listening to him makes me feel that it was worth it. And BTW, i was Level 31 when I reinstalled the game
It explain things as an excuse of the effect of a piece of eden which fine with this Odyssey tho kassandra is literally a walking eden war machine but even then sometimes the enemies feel like a damage sponge
If this is cannon then I’m fucking done with Assassins Creed for good. It doesn’t make sense. The past games never mentioned the dead rising up and killing people in plain day light. You’d think Ezio and everyone would know about it. Howww I just can’t. If it’s cannon I’m fucking done dude. Never buying another assassins creed game again.
The mythological side of this game is something that i found amazing. It makes sense but also feels surreal amd it has been hinted at in the base game with the apep fight and the little bit of the field of reeds we traverse. Btw my mans tutankhamun looking fresh with that outfit.
I like how they make all of this canon as a hallucination and as an effect of a piece of eden I don’t know why they go down hill from here like odyssey is like able as an rpg game but it has too many unexplainable of supernatural things like how Kassandra is literally a walking eden war machine
I love this game.. and this franchise it’s my favorite game franchise in fact... it took a lot from the Witcher gameplay and not for nothing but that was also an expansion done perfectly! That blood & wine dlc was another piece of gold. I’m actually just wrapping up curse of the pharaohs & hidden ones I finished last week. Haven’t fought the gods yet. But what a game.
I've played through The Hidden Ones DLC and The Curse of the Pharaohs DLC. I have to say, Origins has better DLC than Odyssey. I felt that the DLC's for Odyssey were kind of boring overall. I've played through the Legacy of the First Blade but haven't finished the Fate of Atlantis DLC either but I'm not sure if I really want to. Odyssey is a good game but Origins resonated with me more so because the birth of the Brotherhood. It was impactful and well written. Origins definitely has a better story.
DIDN'T FUCKING KILL THE FIRST ENEMY YOU ENCOUNTER IN THE FIRST QUEST, NOW I CAN'T GET THOSE 3 FUCKING SHARDS OF A STAR, JUST STARTED SO I BETTER HAVE ENOUGH TO FULLY FINISH CRAFTING OTHERWISE FUCK THIS GAME
Looking at it now, I feel like the hidden ones was a filler for this one. It was short to keep us waiting just like Dark Souls 3, when they had the frozen world of ariandel DLC
Is origins fully patched and with all the dlc worth playing? I'm playing Odyssey now and I love it...so much that I'm thinking of getting origins and playing that first. Anyone?
The only thing I don't like about the afterlife areas are those creepy AF birds. I am quite partial to the afterlife area for Akhenaten - there's something serene and peaceful about it.
Well the timeline now doesn’t make since. This dlc should’ve been 38 bc and the hidden ones should’ve been 40 bc. but how can they say it takes place in 40 bc and be four years later if the main story ended in 47 bc? I think it’s messed up. Hidden ones take place on 43 bc and months later the curse of the pharaohs happens
The quest order is very bad. I didn't play the right order and the story is just a mess for me. Idk why they didn't force you to play in a liniar story line.
I kinda knew the quest like i like doing side things first before doing the main quests like i always explore the whole area so I don’t have that kind of problem and sometimes i just looks at the description of the quest before doing it
"Oh yeah there's massive f.cking scorpions" made my day. Thank you! And btw a great review all around, you can be very professional when you want to :)
The next title is called Dynasty which hints at a Chinese game for the next title. Thoughts? I really hope they continue the Bayek story... maybe the next DLCs will cover the Apple being stolen.
I don't have Curse of the Pharaoh's but I hope it's better and longer than The Hidden Ones DLC. I beat that in 2 days. Beat the main story and over 100 sidequests in a couple of weeks. I don't remember the other Assassin's Creed games being so short. It was super repetitive and boring as well. Seemed the other games had more variety. Or maybe I am getting Assassin's Creed fatigue.

Good job on this review mate^^
God I wish we had gotten an origins sequal
I thought it was bullshit how “magical and mistical” this dlc was.
How little did we know back then...
Are the afterlife Pharaoh tomb realms real in Ac lore, or is it the Isu technology?

There's even a funny pun for a quest name: "Among Thebes", which refers to "Among Thieves". The comparison is pretty obvious.

To be fair, AC DLC was pretty underwhelming for the most part.
