  • Clifford Royce Adams, an esteemed Air Force veteran and a cherished family man, passed away at 88 due to Pulmonary Fibrosis on December 2nd, 2023, in Ogden, Utah.
With a distinguished 21-year military career, Cliff was honored with The Distinguished Flying Cross twice and The Air Medal for his valor in the Vietnam and Korean wars.
Born in Cuthbert, Georgia, Cliff's early life was marked by resilience, surviving Diphtheria at six months and various accidents thereafter. His curiosity and adventurous spirit were evident in his youth, from trapping animals to selling turtles.
Cliff and his brother Mickey shared a close bond, despite the distance in their ages. Cliff's teenage years were spent on his grandparents' farm in Georgia, where he and his cousin Frank engaged in mischievous activities, much to their family's chagrin.
A talented swimmer in high school, Cliff joined the military at 17, first serving in the Alabama Army National Guard before enlisting in the Air Force. His military service took him to Utah, where he met and married Patricia Tyree, and they had three children. The loss of his daughter Kathy Anne in an accident was a profound sorrow for Cliff.
Throughout his life, Cliff was known for his independence, humor, and love for family. His military service, filled with heroics, remained a humble topic for him, preferring to share stories that brought laughter.
After his honorable discharge in 1974, Cliff returned to Alabama before settling in Utah and then Wyoming and Idaho, enjoying his retirement with fishing, hunting, and motorcycle riding. His later years were dedicated to honoring his fallen Air Force "brothers" and caring for animals, especially his cats and ducks through his granddaughter's nonprofit.
Cliff's legacy is carried on by his surviving family members and the many lives he touched with his humor, bravery, and compassion. His story is a testament to a life well-lived, marked by service, resilience, and love.
