- “You have to be patient to weave baskets,” says Elsie Holiday. After marrying into a family of basket weavers at age 19, Elsie quickly took to the family trade, creating baskets whose designs range from traditional Navajo patterns to pop art. Whether she’s gathering Navajo willow sumac with her daughter in Douglas Mesa or taking commissions, Elsie always finds a way to try something different.

Traditional arts are so vital. Honestly I think mental health would be better if people just sat together and talked and wove.
Yes! Cherokee Native here.
What a cute family. I really enjoyed her enthusiasm and amazing designs.
My great grandparents are both weavers and my dad is a jewelry artist.

Amazing craft. I would love weaving with the strappy eucalyptus bark but it coils as soon as it starts getting dry. How can I keep the same bark permanently moist ?

Hi, 🦋🦋🦋May I share the most important news you will ever hear? God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus Christ(Y'shua Ha' Mashiach) from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. He was put into a tomb for 3 days, and then Abba Father raised Jesus to life and He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must all sincerely receive Jesus to be a true child of God. It says in John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Will you genuinely believe on Christ Jesus and truly receive Him today, before it is too late?
God bless you TheGingermarie for sharing Gods living Word with others. The God who sees is with you and so happy you are being faithful dear heart. 🙏✝️
You have been fooled by the white man!
This is awesome to see but what bothers me is why does it have to be a white guy to sell the products? I kind of think it’s because they stay strict. But all the basket weaving are beautiful. I honestly have not seen any baskets like that. Only the traditional ones.
