Based on the book of the same name, we get a peek into the lifestyle & culture of a Motorcycle club in the 1960's. Here's my review for THE BIKERIDERS! #TheBikeriders
This was one of those occasions were I saw this movie because of the director, Jeff Nichols. He directs his own scripts and all of the movies I've seen by him feel unique and sincere. I thought the performances of the entire cast were excellent, particularly the three leads. Sound design was also very good, the scene of the entire club revving their engines while Tom Hardy walks into the bar was awesome!
The ending sucked!!! It’s like 50 minutes of exposition and then (spoilers) right when you think there’s going to be this big finale, it ends so anti-climatically it ruined the whole film for me. They should have had a 5-10 minute final fight with Tom Hardy getting killed after fighting not just getting shot anti-climatically. And his gang just watches it happen? When you read about how the real Johnny died, he was killed in a shootout. That sounds more exciting then what we got! And what was with them not going after the people that broke Benny’s ankle? It’s implied it happened off screen but it should have been in there. And why not go after the people that beat Cockroach instead of shooting him in the leg for wanting to leave? So stupid!
Stoked to see this flick, I ride an ‘88 Harley Heritage Softail and like something about that bike culture in the sixties…actually just post WWII is fascinating to me

I went into the movie open minded. I know nothing of bikes only that a good friend from college died riding on one. But I do see the appeal and I always, in the back of my mind, wanted to own one myself. BUT I barely know anything about the inners of cars, let alone a motorcycle. Plus I'm under 5'3. Ain't no bike for small people like me
I’m 32 and ride an Electra Glide, in my teens I rode a gs500 that I pulled out of a woods and got fixed up. I really enjoyed this movie. I saw it with my wife, who had a rough childhood around bikers because her dad was part of or affiliated with the Outlaws. Needless to say the party scenes hit home for her. I also can’t stand cliche hardass biker guys so the movie really pulled our emotions seeing the main character dealing with two different worlds. I liked how they showed the gang used to be guys who loved their bikes and raced, worked on them together. This is something a lot of guys my age want but then it shows how it turned into the violent drug fueled mess they’ve become. It’s definitely one of my favorite motorcycle movies now.
I was a biker for about 25 years, from the late 70s to the early 90s, owned a few different bikes over that time. Highlights include; Kwacka z650, Suzuki Katana 1000, Moto Guzzi mk.1 850 Le Mans, gpz900. Owned the last version of Honda’s CB 750, the F2, for four years, put 40,000 miles on it, fell of it three times at over 70mph with only a broken wrist to show for it. Good times, mostly.
Saw this movie today. Not so much interested in riding a bike; I’ve always been more of a car guy but I do have an appreciation for the community that riding inspires. Plus the jackets look badass.
I learned today that one of my favorite reviewers is also a fellow rider. Knees in the breeze is all that matters my dude. Good on ya. Ride safe, keep two wheels down!
My dad had a Kawasaki Vulcan for about 5 minutes before he decided it was too dangerous. I loved the look of that bike. Wish I was old enough to ride it at the time.
Your Ninja 1000 is a fantastic bike. For me, the idea of a cruiser is kind of cool but the reality is a bit different. I find I feel "weightless" on a semi-sport or even a standard, because my weight is split between by butt / back, wrists / shoulders, and feet / legs. On many cruiser-type bikes there's no supporting my weight with arms (due to the high handlebars) or legs (due to the foot-forward peg position). This makes those comfortable in the showroom or bike show but not so much after 30 minutes of riding, and the loss in control (again due to the handlebar / peg positioning) isn't worth it to me. There are a lot of great alternatives for longer-distance touring. Yam still makes the FJR1300. Heck there are some nice alternatives that give you a cruiser or classic look -- Triumph Speed Twin, Kawi Z900RS, Duc Diavel, Indian FTR, Yami XSR900... I've owned and ridden a lot of bikes over the years, from a Ninja 250 to a Kawi ZRX1200R. Currently age 49 and bikeless and probably staying that way until I retire in 5-6 years and we move somewhere that has less unrelenting road congestion and roads with some curves. We live in the DFW area and due to the June through September oven temperatures, shocking traffic, and the most boring roads this side of Florida, I gave up riding in about 2021. We visited Mountain Home and Bull Shoals Arkansas recently (drove my wife's 2024 Subie BRZ there) and instantly I fell in love with the roads there...
Your bike is PERFECT for you. Riding stance is just right for long beautiful rides. WATCH OUT for ASIANS, WOMEN, and OLD people. You see an Old Asian Lady you get out of there FAST!!!
What has been seen cannot be unseen. Thanks a lot for pointing out the right jacket pocket at the start of the video, Jeremy. Now I'm distracted by it while trying to hear your review. 😆
Bro, i can't believe i never picked up on this from you! I SHOULD have! I know you're looking for "the cruiser" to take you cross-country, but I highly recommend that as a Kawi man, you should take a couple of rides on a Z900 RS... I took mine from LA to the Grand Canyon and back to LA and never felt uncomfortable... aside from the 106° weather in AZ that is... Just throw bags and a windshield on it, and I could ride that thing for dayyyysss!
Currently own two bikes, KTM RC200, which is my first bike that i learnt on and i just bought a 390 Duke to upgrade to (trying to sell the RC now 😅). One day, God willing, I'd love to own the Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory. That's my dream Bike. But like Jeremy, I've been looking at bikes in the used and online markets. A cruiser to tour on sounds great sometimes.
Thanks for the review Jeremy I was looking forward to this film! I am wanting to get into bikes and the one that caught my eye was the Royal Enfield 350
Hey, I just rode a Royal Enfield Classic 500 all weekend and it was splendid. Bike only had 141 miles on it, and it couldn't be put in neutral without turning it off. Keep an eye on the shifter if you buy one. They might go bad quickly...
Holy sh!t Jeremy, after all these years of following your channel, your reviews, I did not picture you as a rider. Well there you go. At the beginning of your video, when you first said you ride, my initial thought was you ride an Yamaha MT09. Haha, you look like someone who started on an MT07 then moved up to an MT09. However, the Kawasaki, nice bike you got there 👍. I ride a KTM Super Duke R. Have previously had an R1, and I do miss that bike.
I currently ride a Triumph but I’m looking for my death bike, the Kawasaki 750 Spectre that I crashed on when I was 19. I feel like what George Patton when he talks about war “ God help me, I love it so “
I'm fortunate enough that my wife is into the culture without being in the culture because she grew up riding with her dad. She told me no bikes when we had kids and then let me get one a couple years ago. And the free feeling of riding with the fresh air is like none other. I've got a small bike that's perfect for scenic twisties and back roads that gives me every feel I wanted, and she encourages me to use it.
ALOT of people were worried it was just gonna be another Sons Of Anarchy/Mayans interpretation and they were proven wrong. Those TV shows made their characters extremely unrealistic almost superhero like on a motorcycle with drama, but Bikeriders was realistic like you could actually sit down with a few of them at a bar and have a good time, it felt REAL. Times and rules have changed with how outlaw motorcycle clubs run but I'm glad the director really stuck with how it was actually like back in the 60s-70s. SYLO
Thank you for the great review! Going definitely watch it! I think we need to support movies like this in the era of blockbusters and franchise endless reboots. The cast is phenomenal and Jeff Nichols is a master of his craft..
This film didn't work for me. Felt like the film was trying to glorify what were essentially a gang of degenerates. Just couldn't empathise with that. Maybe I'd feel differently if the character and story weren't paper-thin. Johnny was perhaps the only character I found entertaining. The rest I couldn't care less about. 5/10
I think you'd like a pan American, BMW 1200adv, and of course the rolling sofa on 2 wheels, the goldwing, 3 very different bikes but all the best for putting lots of miles behind you.
The Kawasaki Z1000SX is one of the best sports tourer bikes out there. It may look aggressive at first glance, but It's made for eating up miles and being fast if you want to, while having a very compfortable seating position. You're listing a bunch of adventure bikes and a road glider. That's just not the same kind of riding if you enjoy sportier bikes.
I'd like to get one of the new Harleys, not a Milwaukee but the Rev Max that's in the Pan America. That Pan America gives the BMW a run for its money. It can hold its own on the dirt roads and some trails, and beats it on the highway.
Jeremy, i feel like i always knew you were hiding that extra little bit of "cool"... Now i know what it is, lol... Im riding a gen 4 zx10-r. Awesome review as usual man. Ill have to go check this out with my gf who rides also. Hey, maybe one day you can step into the motovlog scene. I'd definitely give a follow!
I'd recommend a long trip on a Goldwing. I was loving mine until some asshat made an illegal right turn & took me from 45mph to 0 in about 20'. Goldwing's are the best touring bikes out there.
I work at a Harley-Davidson dealership, and a bunch of my coworkers went to see it and rode up the movie theater on their bikes. They came into our meeting saying how much they hated it. I'm not sure they're not really movie people or into the biker culture. 😂

May the breeze on ur face be the wings on ur back...... ride fast, ride hard, ride your problems and the legal system away my brother!!!✊️
man as a long time viewer, finding out that jeremy is a motorcyclist made him 100x cooler than he already is
Saw this movie today. Not so much interested in riding a bike; I’ve always been more of a car guy but I do have an appreciation for the community that riding inspires. Plus the jackets look badass.
In the sequel Austin encounters a demon from hell and becomes...THE GHOST RIDER.
Had been looking forward to seeing this since first hearing about it. Did not disappoint, outstanding storytelling
I'm not gay but Austin Butler, i would do it
Love you Jeremy 🙏🏽
Is your avatar Ed Boon???
I love you
Actually it was Boons idea, but the pic is of a programmer. Just looked it up
@@David-kc9il And I love you
Butlers come a long way from being the random extra background character in Teen Nick shows. I wana see some more Gypsy & Danger 🐾
The energy he gave off in the video made believe the movie would be rated awesometacular
I have a Victory Octane, absolutely love it
Currently own two bikes, KTM RC200, which is my first bike that i learnt on and i just bought a 390 Duke to upgrade to (trying to sell the RC now 😅).
Yeah, the classic is the way to go.
Dude, nice jacket.
Dude, Pride Rock!
@@somerandolad That kid kicked sand in Cool Cat's face!
If I couldn’t like you any more than I already did haha. I ride a KTM 890 Duke then have a little Z125 for puttin around town. Ride safe up there!
I've followed Jeremy for 14 years and I'm shocked he never revealed he had a motorcycle 😂
When you ride long enough, you don't even think about it.
The ending sucks.
it is a great movie 🥹 the ending sucks for all the right reasons
definitely, this is the definition of a mid budget flick that Hollywood should be making more of and the cast is terrific too.
Saw it last night
Biker myself
Didn't liked it as much as I was expecting but still pretty good
*Also OMG the amount of smoking in this* 🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬🚬😩
Welcome to the 60s, when people smoked all the time...yet still lived just as long as we do.
@@haggus71 ye I never smoked 😅
I'd recommend a long trip on a Goldwing.
I was loving mine until some asshat made an illegal right turn & took me from 45mph to 0 in about 20'.
Goldwing's are the best touring bikes out there.
2020 r6 here. Would be awesome to ride with Jeremy.
I ride a 2023 Harley Davidson Road King Special. Before that I had a 2008 Harley davidson Softail Custom. I do ride with an MC.
Nice ninja, ride safe brother. I have a good old 2010 Goldwing, great for 2 up riding with the wife.
I work at a Harley-Davidson dealership, and a bunch of my coworkers went to see it and rode up the movie theater on their bikes. They came into our meeting saying how much they hated it. I'm not sure they're not really movie people or into the biker culture. 😂
It seems like this dynamic of a romance where the female doesn't feel the same way about the MC as her love interest but understands it. It is exactly the same as Son's of Anarchy
A cool, stylish biker movie. The whole cast were great, especially Hardy and Butler. The plot was pretty thin though, so I’d give it a solid 7.5/10
Man, I wanna see this movie so bad because I myself am a bike rider 😂 custom 2018 Harley Davidson breakout Milwaukee 114 let’s go baby
Sounds like Son's the movie. That's the show I want, young Clay, young Piney, Bobby etc.
I'm looking forward to it, I have been riding 40+ years.
