Loved that you brought the d16 content back. Looking forward to the races. By they way I have the same brake setup in the front. Which wheel are you using and what’s your tire setup. Looking to buy wheels now but hesitant on pulling the trigger since I have stock studs and seen guys having issues clearing the calipers with spacers etc.
Glad you’re still here for it man. I try to bring a wide variety for all my viewers 🤘🏻 we have found all of our Honda/Acura 15” wheels (with 195/205 tires) clear the calipers. Some are tight but so far no issues. And the brackets we just installed actually added clearance. Turns out James misspoke and you need Legend NON GS brackets, if that helps. As far as wheel studs. It’s not a bad idea to have them but OE will be fine you shouldn’t need a spacer. FURTHERMORE if you get extended wheel studs we have found with a Honda hub get the honda extended studs. BUT if you have an aftermarket hub, you need to get late 90’s Miata extended studs. We used honda ones and the splines all slipped and it came back with 1.5 studs left.
I hope this helps. I know it was a lot at once. Good luck man and we’re glad you’re still on the BnB train 🇺🇸🤜🤛
@@berttnotbought804 ok thanks will see if I can get a hold of Honda 15” wheels to start. Thanks for the info. Yea I’m always watching your videos when you release them lol. Hoping next year to start a k series builf
If I had a spare set I’d let you have them. But unfortunately I do not. However they will fit.
By the time you get started I should have a decent amount of info for you to get started with aaand should be in the process of breaking shit by then 😂
@@berttnotbought804 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Cool with all that except for the breaking part 😂. I plan on tracking my d16 turbo build starting in November of this year. Hopefully everything holds up and I won’t have to dump more money into it.
First! (Slow work day lol)
You were faster than me 😂
@@berttnotbought804 not sure if it was explained in another video, but I'm unfamiliar with the rules of the champ series, like what's allowed and what's not. I could of course look it up, or if you haven't made a video a brief cliff notes of the major rules in a video would certainly be watched by me!
I touch on it here and there. James is the expert. I usually just hold something out and go “I like this” and he says “too many points” and then i say *sad race car noises*. I’ll have him give a general overview. It’s simple on the top layer but gets really dicey the deeper you dive. It’s why we are running a mostly stock engine. We don’t want conflict on the off chance we do well.
@@rallydrew rules are about 20 pages long for this series, but the cliff notes version is that you; take a car, remove fluff, add safety, and race.
There are 4 classes differentiated by engine displacement. Cars have a base point value, then you add performance/aftermarket parts which cost points. More than 500 points and you start taking penalties (starting laps down).
Our car starts at 200 points and we've added turbo, oil cooler, adjustable dampers, etc. to come up just under 500
@@inch7706 sounds like there's a ton of freedom in what you can do, any restrictions on aero or bodywork, or does it have to stay stock?
James, I woulda paid you money to set up Turkey Burgers rear breaks when I owned that shit box… Brett… pass the word along.
There's still time!
