I think there is some level of respect for JB, but I do believe you could practically roll in a corpse, a la Weekend at Bernie’s, and win more games than Monty did while sabotaging our players’ development.
1st Listen...what up Ku. It's feeling good again to be a Detroit sports fan. All we need is for our Pistons to shock the world. It's time bro. Word up!!
Hey Ku! You know I'm looking forward to another really good Pistons podcast from you! It'll be very interesting of course to hear why NBA GMS think that the Pistons have one of the top five most promising young cores in the game. I love you buddy keep your head up keep your heart strong! Amen!#FAMILYSTRONG! #PISTONSTRONG!😎🏀
7% of the vote for Cade is only 2 votes. I don’t see Cade’s numbers getting much better, but him making the guys around him better and hopefully getting wins. I guess increased impact can count as break out, but I consider last season his break out where he showed what he can do. I would bet that Ivey has more of what I would consider being a break out season with increased stats and efficiency.
I think Cade will definitely breakout. The numbers will be more efficient because of spacing. From 45% to 48%ish or higher and 35% to 38% with ppg closer to 25ppg.
@@Shortballa11 to me that is an incremental increase, a break out is when you show a significant jump. Last season was more of Cade’s breakout to me. Hopefully the breakout will be Cade improving those around him and impacting the W column.
@@cordelldemattei5446 okay that makes sense. I see it similar to Fox made all star and all nba. He had all the same #s as before bt was more efficient and Ws. Ppl looked at him differently.
As a Magic fan , I will tell you the difference between Paolo and Cade. Paolo is a culturer changer. As an example After he won rookie of the year the front office wanted one last development season. Paolo on his exit interview promised the fans we would be in the playoffs the next year and it forced the front office hand. I've noticed Wemby also did this. Good luck on the season.
I have asked my friends if Cade is a vocal leader. Most are so desperate that they insist he's a great leader. I have significant doubts. The shin splint surgery undermined Cades ability to force the team to start winning right away. What Cade wants might be a factor in the deadline trades that get made. Will Cade demand the Pistons trade some of the Weaver Core for older veterans to chase the play in or will he let the Pistons sell again?
Houston should be way ahead of Magic by the same margin. GM's are putting success ahead of talent. Black is nice and was a guy I thought the pistons should target. But Paolo and Wagner are probably closer to their ceilings than most guys their age. They came in so developed and NBA ready. Paolo's been playing the same game since he was 15. Suggs is a good core piece, but with a clear ceiling. I don't think they have enough depth of young talent to be above the Rockets. Wendel does not count in year 7, nor does 27 yr old Isaac.
I don't think San Antonio have much depth on their team other than having Wemby. Detroit may not have much either, but at least they have good pieces to be a decent team than last season.
Vassell rlly isnt that great. He's a 19ppg scorer on a bad team and doesnt do much else. Ivey would do the same on that Spurs team. Castle looks good too, but Im taking Ausar over both of them every day. San Antonio will more be impacted by getting cp3 than any other player not named Wemby. Detroit needed someone like cp3
@@Shortballa11 Vassell was really efficient last season tho, 47% from the field and 37% from three on nearly 7 attempts lets see Cade or Ivey do that this season lol, and lmfao @ Ausar yall are crazy
So 5th, hence we are last, meaning we have the worst young cores out of teams that can be considered young cores ? Sadly it’s correct, those other teams have better young cores and maybe have a better grasp of their identity. We have no identify yet, I want to see some major improvements this year, I don’t think anybody can take another year like last year. In so far as Cade , if healthy he has a chance, but on the real Ivey might be the one to have a break out year! No cap…..
Ku, I agree with you that Cade is the best player on the team and the only one on the young core who has yet proven to be an NBA starter. However, I disagree with you use of the adjective “impactful” because he has not done that. Impactful would be making players around you better and pulling teams to a win. This is where he and Banchero have been different so far, their impact on the players around them and on team success. Hopefully this changes this season because if he doesn’t create an impact he will be more like RJ Barrett, a guy with similar stats that don’t drive team success.
The prediction that Ivey was going to be the odd man out (tradebait) is what many were saying is looking pretty sketchy right now. Its only preseason so we shall see. Said JB would start Ivey when many on this platform were saying start a journeyman veteran on a 1 year deal and so far its come true. Said Ivey and Cade could be a dynamic backcourt and JB is showing early how they should have been used. Its interesting what happens when young players have a coach who believes in them, willing to develop them, play them and has a cohesive plan but I was told I didn't know what I was talking about based on advanced statistics say these players are bad. Ivey won't develop next to Cade is what many were sayin. Lol. Well we will shall see this season who was right and who was completely wrong. So far the returns have said otherwise. 😂😂😂😂
If the pistons and cade can understand that he is not their savior they will be okay, champion ship pistons teams have to have defined roles and lay their hats on defense Ivey is Zeke and cade is dumars
Those are terrible comparisons. But you are correct about team basketball being the key to Pistons success. All Stars don't come here, they're made here
Plz stop with the unfair comparisons for this squad/players. The only thing Cade/Ivey have in common with Zeke/Joe D is that they are starting backcourt. Lets these guys develop their own identity. There is no Bad Boys or Going to Work Pistons 2.0 walking through the doors.
I think the pistons become Iveys team this year. Cade needs to adjust to become the number 2 player on this team or we should trade him. Hes been on the team three years and he hasnt proven he can do it. He isnt reliable in the 4th quarter and does nothing to put the defense on edge. If we are going anywhere in the next 5 years we need to trade Cade when he has some sort of 'prospect' value and get Ivey a new running mate. Cade is taking away from Iveys game.
if Ivey is the best player on the team there are major issues now and in 5 years. Cade has major 4th quarter issues, but realistically he still has the most talent. Ausur is the one that needs to prioritized. Top athlete with IQ. Plays the right way. But the Pistons needed a cp3 to guide them and San Antonio got it
If Ivey ends up being the second best player on the team Monty William should never get another job!
Not sure he wants one lol tbh
He won't get one but yeah lol
He might be the first
He never needs another job thanks to Gores.
@unclesam6972 Exactly. He fleeced the Pistons out of $78 million, so he's set for life. What a bum. No respect for that clown.
How about "Ku's Key Contributor" for the player of the game?
